Advanced Twin Frozr IV

N760 TF 2GD5/OC

MSI's Twin Frozr has been the industry defining graphics card cooler. The first Twin Frozr kicked of the dual-fan trend and today MSI stays true to its dual-fan dual-slot design where others have to resort to less effective means.

The other part that the Twin Frozr cooler uses is a large aluminum fin grid array that provides a huge amount of surface area for cooling. Heat from the GPU is transferred to the fin grid array by virtue of heat pipes with MSI's special SuperPipe technology. SuperPipes transfer heat twice as fast as regular heat pipes enabling an MSI Gaming graphics card to stay cooler than the competition.

N760 TF 2GD5/OC

Futhermore, MSI provides all new Airflow Control technology on the Twin Frozr. This new thermal technology leads airflow to the heat pipe by a special deflector on the heatsink, so it can deflect more airflow to the heat pipes directly. In addition, this exclusive heatsink design increases the area of the heatsink to enhance heat dissipation.

Features

Military Class Compenent

One of the deciding factors in performance is the quality of the components used. That is why MSI only uses MIL-STD-810G certified components for its Gaming cards - only these components have proven to be able to withstand the torturous circumstances of extreme gaming and overclocking.

New Super Ferrite Chokes

New Super Ferrite Chokes use a Ferrite core that is Super-Permeable. This allows the Super Ferrite Chokes to run 95°F (35°C) cooler, have a 30% higher current capacity, a 20% improvement in power efficiency, and better overclocking power stability.

N760 TF 2GD5/OC Hi-C Cap

A Hi-c Cap is a very small, but super-efficient capacitor. Besides ensuring enough spacing around a CPU socket to install large coolers, it also allows for 93% energy efficiency. Thanks to Hi-c Cap's MSI mainboards are the most energy efficient in the market.

N760 TF 2GD5/OC Solid Caps

One With their aluminum core design, Solid CAP's have been a staple in high-end mainboard designs and provides lower Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) as well as its over-10-year lifespan.

Afterburner

N760 TF 2GD5/OC

MSI Afterburner has quickly become the favorite overclocking software for media, overclockers and end-users. Because of its simple interface, it's easy to learn, but it packs a lot of powerful features like an integrated benchmark utility called Kombustor that can check your system performance in benchmarking mode, or run as a stability test.

Don't speak English? No problem: MSI Afterburner is translated in many languages including Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Korean! Not satisfied with the looks? Just change to one of the many different skins or create one yourself with ease!

Now, this utility is also available on portable platforms. Download the MSI Afterburner App from Google Play or the Apple store and start overclocking wit on your smartphone or tablet.

Pros: -Fast, reliable, best version of the GTX 760 you can buy retail currently.
-Stock overclock is nice.
-Runs a little above all other versions of the GTX 760 I have tested.
-Maintains steady safe temperatures, even under minor overclocks.

Cons: I owned this for a little over 2 years and it just up and died. Guess what, MSI won't allow a RMA even though it's within 3 years, because the manufacture date on the card says that it is over 3 years- even though it's only been used for 2.
On top of that their support and everything has been a joke, can't talk to anyone or get any help.

Other Thoughts: I'm currently running one of these with an i5-4570 Processor at 3.2 Ghz, with 8GB DDR3 Ram. Stock settings.

These are the FPS's I have gotten on average for some of the most current games.

Below tested with 1080p unless otherwise stated.
Metro 2033: Last Light 30-90 fps maxed out with SSAO off.
Metro 2033: Last Light under 30 FPS and down the higher you turn the SSAO up.
Crysis 3 Maxed out, with AA: 23 FPS
Crysis 3 Maxed out without AA: 28-40 FPS
Crysis 3 maxed out without AA at 900p: 40-50 fps
Battlefield 3 maxed out entirely: 50-90 FPS
Witcher 2 Maxed out WITH Ubersampling 30 FPS
Witcher 2 Maxed out without Ubersampling 60 fps
Payday 2: 60 FPS always, unlocked as high as 100 or 200, same with games like Black ops 2 and other light weight 360 ported games.
-Everything else tested has pulled perfect fps of 60 unless hardcapped at 30 like Deadspace 3. Only the above games were found to apply any strain at all.

3 out of 5 eggsHas it actually been a year?

Pros: For the price I got this GPU at the time it was very well worth it.
-Could handle anything that was sent it's way at a 1080p res no problem
-Temperatures were also good, and was expected to be around there
-The OC presets were really helpful, especially with my bad PSU

Cons: Obviously a con is that this card isn't sold anymore, and if it is... It's usually sold at a much more steeper price. So as a result I would recommend an equivalent such as the 950, or even better a 960. MSI of course.
This isn't really a con, mainly because ti's my fault
-My GPU is already showing signs that it's nearing death, this is mainly due to the fact that I skimped on my PSU.

Other Thoughts: At it's time this GPU was really helpful, especially for what I was putting it through, as mentioned before... Would I recommend this card specifically?
No, you could get an 900 equivalent for a cheaper price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Stays cool
Quiet
Cool colors

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great card, plays all games at max settings. Lowest FPS I've had so far is on Crysis 3, it runs at about 32 FPS. All around it's a great card and I highly recommend it.

2 out of 5 eggsFAIL.

Pros: Bought in early 2014 to replace a GTX 285 from 2009. Big improvement in gaming and loaded temps.

Got this card even though I dislike MSi because I was desperate for a GPU and it was on sale. Should have known better

Cons: Lasted just over 1 year when the warranty was up. One day doing simple web browsing the screen went black and monitor reporting no signal. Put on another monitor, no signal. Put card in 2 different systems with different monitors, no signal. Put on TV both VGA and HDMI, no signal. Fans spin up like its getting power but no video output. Scoured google for days looking for a solution only to find that many owners already had this same problem with no solution aside from warranty replacement which was expired.

Other Thoughts: Stick with more reputable brands for GPUs. EVGA ftw.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
Please note: MSI provide 3 years warranty on our video card and motherboard. Based on the symptom you reported, we suggest you checking following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,

1 out of 5 eggsDOA - went back to eVGA

Pros: Price was good on the day I ordered it, but just didn't seem to like my aging core I7 machine. Can't say much since never really had much success with running BF4 on it.

Cons: It worked most of one day, then died. Good news is that newegg took it back without issue (thank you Newegg). Never even finished one round of BF4 before it would freeze up

Other Thoughts: Went back to eVGA and installed a GTX760 - worked like a charm and very happy with it, staying with eVGA from now on.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Card

Pros: Quiet Fans, Quality construction, and a great multi-tasker.

Cons: Power connectors in a very tight spot.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a EVGA GTX 560 Ti (extremely reliable and fast) after humming and hawing for quite some time. The 560 Ti was brilliant and I didn't what to step backwards. This card has proven to fit the bill and can do anything I throw at it. I've had 3 monitors running 2 X EVE Online clients, a Web browser, mail client, and Lord of the Rings Online and this card doesn't even blink.
