Pros: I plug it in and it worked. Not very loud, even with the two fans. I like the black look of the card too. No dumb looking decals or stickers. Comes with a bunch of software to test and overclock your card.

Pros: Two in CroseFire. Crysis is rendered great with these graphics cards. I can max out most XP generation games, such as Quake 4. I'm longing to play these games again. I'm looking forward to playing the newer games, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 this November. I'm set up with these two cards. The EAH4890s came with software that allows these cards to be overclocked. I did mess around with overclocking them and achived a few more FPS in Crysis. I set them back to stock clocks. If your an ATI fan, you should consider the ASUS EAH4890.

I'm set up for a few years.

Pros: This card is a big improvement over my 9800gt.It runs in the 40's at idle and didn't go up much after about an hour of Left for Dead.Might be due to my Antec 900 case. Cranked things up in L4D,smooth and fast.Good eye candy! Plus ATI just released the 9.7 drivers on the 23rd.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Had a small driver issue that would disable the aero 3d in win 7.Turned out to ge Asus OSD or the ATI HDMI sound driver conflicting with the realtec.Just uninstalled the two and everything is as it should be.
I definately recommend this card stays cool and runs strong.

Pros: Gotta give it to Asus for providing a non-reference card with style. The card strays in OEM design from pcb to cooler. I'd not venture into this territory if it weren't Asus. They know what they're doing however; and they did a great job with this one. It's an "interesting" card to own.

The card could easily have been factory clocked to 925/1050 but they went with conservative clocks. Card will oc to 940 with default voltages. I don't plan to go higher using voltage tweak, no need with Crossfire.

Cons: None for me

Pros: This card is fairly powerful from what i've seen, bought this as an upgrade to 2 2600XT's in crossfire. Runs Left 4 Dead like a dream, FPS's in general seem to cooperate decent with the card. Pulled up WoW and didn't see too many extra frames from before though, but they are having network issues so i'm going to let some things calm down before i drop the hammer on that. 1gig of ram shows its presence as well as the clock speed, with room to push it higher might i add.

Cons: case seems to be running hotter than before with 2 cards, again this may be due to my personal lack of tweaking but i'll work on it. card runs idle at 60c at idle with fanspeed at 25% i'd say not bad with fan tweaking. Also as stated, with MMO's i'm not getting as large of a jump in framerates as i'd like to or expected.

Other Thoughts: Overall a powerful card with room to improve. Recommend updating drivers on install and making sure you have room, as other's have stated, this card is huge, i have a CoolerMaster Cosmos, case you could sleep in... and i still had to move some things around. This card spans from one side of a standard ATX mobo to the other, so if you have SATA plugs in the way (like i did), you're gonna have to change your configuration to allow room for this card.

runs 60fps in L4D and Portal top settings... WoW still under testing.

Pros: This card is powerful, and is probably one of the best options if you are planning on going with the HD4890 series. Runs cooler than all other cards and one single card performs better than my previous HD3870's in Crossfire. I prefer a single card over two, for many reasons. Without the second card my chipset has more airflow over the heatsink and heatpipes. As most know, it really shines in those high resolutions. Running all the eye candy, without going into to much detail and 1920x1200 resolution is no problem as long as your system is up to date. Quad core, 4GB+ DDR1066 minimum! Velociraptor wouldn't hurt either.

Cons: No cons if you really know what to expect. Some people say its large, ect. But you should know this before you order. You wouldn't buy a red car and the next day say "zomg why is my car red, I didn't expect that!"

Also, if you have to use the windows rating system to compare your previous card to this one, you honestly shouldn't be writing a review saying its not what you expected and that you expected more. That tells you nothing, and I'd expect if you were buying such a powerful, high-end card that you would at least know your stuff, and the correct way to benchmark performance.

Other Thoughts: Know what you are doing before you buy this card and give it a negative "it let me down" kind of review, it skews the ratings and gives people the wrong idea about the card.

Pros: I think this a great card and was worth every dollar I spent on it. The best feature is probably the non-reference dual fans which drop my temps about 10C - 20C compared to my HD 4870's stock fan and also are so incredibly quiet. I have the fans running at 2,000 RPM and I don't hear it at all in my Cooler Master Stacker case. I get 45c Idle and 70c full load. Without using Smart Doctor, I can achieve 960 MHz on the GPU core and 1150 MHz on the RAM using Catalyst Control Center. Pushing it any higher would give me artifacts or lock-ups, but I probably just need to increase the voltage. I get 60 FPS in Fallout 3 and Resident Evil 5 benchmark tool (1920x1200, AA 4x). It does drop to 30 FPS in RE5 in some areas, but I think the game may have issues rendering shadows. Please, Don't get me wrong; I didn't buy this card because it looks good. I was going to get the Sapphire Toxic for $50 more but then realized I can just overclock this one to achieve the same result.

Cons: You may have to use the ASUS Smart Doctor program to up the voltage in order to over-clock it to it's maximum potential. It depends on whether you get a good GPU with your card, results vary. Since I haven't yet used Smart Doctor, I can't comment on that.

It is a big card, but people should already know that high-end GPU cards are big. It's been that way since the 8800 GTX's; even the first 7800 GTX's were fairly large.

Other Thoughts: I think this card is Under-rated because it's ASUS. It seems people tend to lean towards Sapphire, VistionTek, PowerColor, HIS ect, at least on newegg.

If you haven't bought a GPU yet, my advice is to skip the HD 4870 and get a pre-overclocked HD 4890 like this Card, especially if you game at 1920x1200 resolution. It gives you more value for your money compared to some NVIDIA GPU's and will last a long time. If you don't game at 1920x1200, you probably could get by with a HD 4870, but make sure you get one with at least 1 gig of ram.

If you already have a HD 4870, you may not need to bother getting a HD 4890 because there is only about a 15% - 30% boost between the two. I'm talking about gaming at 1920x1200 resolution.

more than twice as fast than two of my 8800 GTX's in SLI and about 15% - 30 % faster than my HD 4870 depending on where you overclock the GPU. Of course, it depends on the game and resolution your running too.

Pros: As a proud owner of many many asus products over the past 10 years or so, I have to say this is one beast of a video card.

If you want a very fast card, awesome color scheme, Asus is where its at!!

Cons: Not a con, but the card is a bit large, make sure before you buy this beast that you have the right size case.

Pros: Very fast at stock clocks/voltage, which is a rather nice bump from stock for a very small premium.

also something that needs mention, the non-reference cooler is AWESOME. it does its job very well.

Cons: the thermal pads on the voltage regs.

they are of a very very cheap material. i was wonderng why my vregs were hitting 130C when i played CSS. popped the cooler off and of course, it was the green thermal pads that fall apart after about a days use.

so i ran out in search of them, and about $30 in gas and $14 for 3M thermal pads later the card is fine.

please fix this asus. everything about the card is amazing, but the vreg temperatures can hinder overclocks and general card stability so much, not to mention it affects core power consumption.

Other Thoughts: other than the vreg thermal pads, everything is great.

i do wish though i could take an egg from whoever decided to save $1 by using a cheap pad. but i will have to point the finger at ASUS and them fire the guy in charge of stickers.

Pros: Works well with Ubuntu OS. Asus tech support helpful but unable to improve on what I knew- however their recommendation that I use Ubuntu saved me tossing the card or breaking it in half from frustation. It is difficult to recommend to Linux users although it may be system and motherboard specific. The card itself runs cool and works well when catalyst software is appropriately installed. I am not unhappy with the card - the software is somewhat frustrating to install.

Cons: Unable to install in Suse Linux - consistently crashed to black screen- disappointing- the one time I got it working persistent vertical refreshs were annoying and slow. Fixs on internet sites last pages and you had better know the commands they leave out. Not worth the work- switched to ubuntu which works okay.

Other Thoughts: I read that AMD was trying to be more responsive to Linux community and I found this to be the case. It is just that the software does not work well with all operating systems. Why? By the way hunting down the dependencies in Suse can be time consuming.
