5 out of 5 eggsUpdate on Ahhh, Smoothness

Pros: Got 2nd card and new 24" sammy, now running on 1900x1200, smooth as silk, still very quiet.

Cons: Still NONE

Other Thoughts: Got the 2nd card "open box". Looked like never used, had EVERYTHING a new one has. Original packing, etc

2 out of 5 eggsConstant video card restarts

Pros: Seems fast, but the games I play it is not any faster than my Radeon 1950 was.

Cons: Constant restarts, numerous fresh OS installs of both XP and Vista to try and make this card stable. New drivers are being released monthly. If you go to the Asus Support forum you will see hundreds of complaints about this card.

It is enough to make me buy an Nvidia Card.

5 out of 5 eggsAhhhh, smoothness

Pros: VERY quiet, especially after having 2 3870's in Crossfire, 1680x1050 maxed out in CoD WaW

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend, and ditto on power supply, length, cable management, case coolness. Plan to get 2nd for Crossfire in near future.

5 out of 5 eggsATI Still has it.

Pros: GREAT performance in CrossfireX, have mine overclocked 800/1000 fan 100%, and my 1200 drowns out the noise, they idle quite low around 45-50. Both of them run just about all my games without a hitch on 1680x1050 max details, especially Crysis :)

Cons: They arent as long as they look, however theyre still a bit long, make sure you do your wiring managment before you put the(se) card(s) in. Crossfire corruption was noticable with 2 bridges attached, there is a big debate on how many crossfire bridges to use, i use 1 and it works great.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to have a beefy power supply to run 2, always maintain good airflow in your case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat piece of kit.

Pros: I utilize the GPUs on the cards for crunching algorithms for Folding@home and it runs flat out 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. This card probably has one of the best cooling configurations I have seen on a card. Compared to the stock ASUS 4850, this card runs 40C cooler with 10% less fan speed. And it is very OC friendly. ( And 30% faster!) I downloaded the drivers from ATI to get the latest versions and it runs fine. Did I mention the card looks really sharp as well? Nice smoked aluminum on the heat sinks.

Cons: The usual gripe with the installation literature, but that is pretty typical of the industry. If you are installing for the first time, hop on the internet and get the lowdown before hand.

Other Thoughts: Nice work ASUS. I will be back for my next upgrade. When is the EAH 5870 DK hitting the shelves?

4 out of 5 eggsMeh...

Pros: Good card for the most part. Been using it over a week now and have had great FPS when playing World of Warcraft.

Cons: FYI if you play World of Warcraft and you plan to dual box this isnt the card for you. There are known issues with any of the ATI 4870 cards when playing WoW.

Occasionally you will get Fatal Errors when running single instances and multiple instances are nearly out of the question. I initially thought my problems were driver related or even user error, but later found that it is a known issue shared by others who use this card.

Other Thoughts: Still a great card and highly recommended when used for other applications

3 out of 5 eggsunsure as yet

Pros: * handsome board,
* nice looking radiator & fan setup,
* great street cred
* once booted & running it provides equivalent resolution to what I was used to with my mid-grade video card

Cons: is giving me a problem when using an Iogear DVI KVM cable... cannot boot half the time... when I do boot it will sometimes hang and drop my resolution down to 800x600 (and then it's a bit of labor to get the res back up, necessitating yet another reboot)... "haven't seen it in action yet, but I hear it's supposed to be really great"

Other Thoughts: (don't have a thermostat on it, but the board does get hot to the touch),

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Fast, stable, tweaked the fan up and it runs cool. (I dont think it's that noisey, but I dont sleep next to my computer either;) Used 8.12 drivers on a clean install of XP, no issues except for what seems like a few glitches in the CCC, explained more below.

Cons: No Cons, I'm happy.

Other Thoughts: The CCC seems to show different readouts for the same settings. Like with ATI Overdrive enabled, the stock settings are 750/900 GPU/Mem, but the current values shows 500/900. Also, in the information center under graphics hardware, it shows the memory amount as 1024. I'm new to ATI, always used Nidia before, so this just may be normal, I'm still on the learning curve.
