1 out of 5 eggsNot even close

Pros: None

Cons: Its dead after a week. This is the second card. The screen went green and fuzzed then my monitor lost the video signal. Do not buy this card. Spend your money on something better like shelter for the homeless.

Other Thoughts: I also wrote the Close but no cigar posting.

3 out of 5 eggsClose but no cigar

Pros: Fast single card solution for gamers on a budget. Quite loud but 80mm case fans will drown it out. Made by a reputable manufacturer.

Cons: Came with a wobbly fan. This is something that Quality Testing should have easily been able to spot. A solution that is not acceptable is to lay the fan perpendicular to the floor (lay your tower on its side). Simply gigantic but that's workable.

Other Thoughts: I opted for this card against the XFX GTX 260 Black Edition with the lifetime warranty. Because I wanted the card to work and not have to worry about returning it... that obviously did not happen. At least working with Newegg to RMA and get a replacement is fast and easy.

Pros: Great buy. this videocard really performs great. Great price, and it is more advanced than most stock computers out htere right now.

Cons: It's really big, but for the power that it provides it's worth it.

Other Thoughts: System builders, buy this before the motherboard!! Make sure that you buy a mother board that has pci express X16 in the right spot because it will cover another expansion slot! some boards come with two pci X16's and that is the way to go. so that you can move it around in case it covers an essential slot

3 out of 5 eggsGTX 260

Pros: Fast, great price

Cons: 1. Very big. Had to modify the case to put it in.
2. The Vid Card fan died after only a few days. It wasn't running hot either!!!!

Other Thoughts: On hold right now with Asus to see what I can do about the fan. Although the software that comes with it is kinda cool (a little buggy though)

5 out of 5 eggsTop notch A+

Pros: These things are insanely fast. I purchased 2 from new egg as open box. The raw processing power is awesome. I use these for gaming, and when not gaming I am running Stanford's Folding @ Home. with the factory overclock, they score on par with a 280GTX.

Cons: I'd like to say price, but considering they were cheaper than the 8800GTs, 7800GTs, and half as much as the 6800GTs that I bought before these, I can't even gripe about the price.

Other Thoughts: If you replace a 9600GT and there is not a day and night difference, you are obviously lacking processing power. These need 3GHZ+ to shine, 4GHZ is simply awesome. Don't dock eggs on an excellent product because the rest of your computer is slow.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Definitely a fast video card. The performance is amazing and seems to be quiet. No issues after installation and restart. I think I have yet to see what this card can truly do.

Cons: If you've read any of the other reviews then you won't see anything new here. It is GINORMOUS. I had to pull a hard drive out and relocate it to accomodate this card. All I can say is, who cares? This thing rocks!!!

Other Thoughts: Purchased card to replace 2 GeForce 7950 GTs in SLi. I am not dissappointed.

If you truly want to test your FPS then try Microsoft FSX. My settings aren't totally maxed but I have more detail with twice the FPS. Well worth it for flight simmers.

I consider my case to be good sized and the card still barely fit. The length of this card goes from the back of the case up to the hard drive bays. I'm wondering if there will be any overheating issues in the future, as the airflow is minimal now. I may need to get a larger case or go liquid cooled.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for price

Pros: Good card for the price. Only costs $240 after rebate. I got two of these after using a 8800 gts (non g92) and a pair of 9600 GT's. I thought they would be alot faster in sli than the 9600's but they werent that much faster. I did notice a difference but nothing to go nuts over. I am able to run crysis and warhead on very high with direct x 10 and 2x AA pretty smoothly (40FPS). Every other game runs great. Low power consumption for what it is. I am running two of these off a 750 watt PSU. Noise is not an issue. Well thats mainly because I have a lot of fans on my case that make their fair share of noise.

Cons: I dont have any cons. Thought they would be a little faster but cant fault them for that.

Other Thoughts: Specs:
EVGA 680i mobo (not LT)
E6750 @ 3.6 4.2v
4 Gig Patriot DDR2 pc6400 5-5-5-12
2x GTX 260 SLI (not OC) 1920x1200
Aprevia 750 watt SLI PSU

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card, has been rock solid and runs cool

Pros: This is my second build with this graphic card. Crazy naming on these cards, but please note that it has 216 shaders not 192 (at least this is what the ASUS SmaertDoctor software says).

I had no issues with either video card, seems to run quite fast and is smooth with video materials. I am not a big gamer, but the reviews have been very positive. I bought the 260 GPU because of very high operating temps reported with the 4870 GPUs and I didn't want another space heater. My 260s run around 50-55C and the fan speed is very unobtrusive under normal use. These were key issues, as my previous graphic cards just ran too hot and noisy for me. I have had no problems with the video drivers and am running Vista 64 operating system. Very pleased with the card and seems to be solidly built, just wish they weren't so large.

Cons: None, some people don't like the graphics, never bothered me especially after I closed up the case.

Other Thoughts: LAST SYSTEM: ANTEC|P182 CASE, ASUS P6T DELUXE, Intel i7 920, ASUS ENGTX260 TOP/HTDI/896M RTL, ZALMAN|ZM750-HP 750W PSU, CORSAIR XMS3 DDR3 1600 3x2GB Kit TR3X6G1600C9, HD 1T|WD 7K 32M SATA2 WD1001FALS, DVD BURN SAMSUNG|SH-S223Q LS.

I considered this or the EVGA version as some of the best video cards in this class, the EVGA seems to have better customer support and lifetime warranty. The ASUS at the time was the least expensive for the specs. You can't go wrong with either.

2 out of 5 eggsNot terribly impressed.

Pros: Fast card. Power connectors on the tp edge of the card, not on the back edge.

Cons: Large like most current video cards these days. Barely fit in my Lian-Li PC-60BPlusII case. Gets hot pretty easily.
Started to artifact 4 days after I purchased it here. Games would hardlock, and dxdiag d3d tests would artifact or barely run. RMA'd back to Newegg, asking for a replacement card but got refunded instead.

Other Thoughts: Not sure if it was a bad batch or what. Went with a different GTX 260 manufacturer.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus Rocks

Pros: The card itself is amazing, being in the top series of cards available for the PCI Express 1.0 16x. I now run Crysis Expansion at 1280 x 1024 at max (enthusiast) settings without any lag. You can SLI this card too if you needed, but I dont see a need for that yet.

Cons: Zip. Install went smooth, card is same size as rest of cards of this high of performance. Except it seems to be built much more sturdy then others I've worked with.

Other Thoughts: I got this card free! That's asus's warranty and great customer service at work. I actually bought their EN8800GTX card a year and a half ago for $624.00, now that same card retails for about $200, unfortunately I had to send it back under warranty (Asus has a 3 year video card warranty, wow!). The rep i spoke with was very friendly, and to my surprize they sent me this card brand new in box as a replacement at no additional charge. So I got a better card, higher value, and my 3 year warranty resets with my new card they gave me! Companies like this are rare to find.

I've been building computers for approximately 10 years now, and I'm happy to find a company I feel comfortable supporting.
