3 out of 5 eggsGreat Video Card

Pros: Very fast video card, top of the line for the time.

Cons: The HDMI on my card never worked properly. I would always get a boxed in image on the display.

An HDMI to DVI converter fixed this, but only allows me to run 1400x1050

Other Thoughts: I look forward to getting a next-gen card when I update!

1 out of 5 eggsAngering issues

Pros: See my former post for the pros.

Cons: Issues have gotten worse to the point of blue screens when running a game like Sonic Generations on my 20" display.

Other cons: The manufacturer has yet to reply to the e-mail that I sent weeks ago. Although I respect the note on my former review, there was no contact information for me to discuss this issue with Sapphire, so the best I can do is to leave my remaining system information below.

Other Thoughts: 20" monitor at 1600x900, 42" Sanyo LCD HDTV also running at 1600x900 resolution. The TV will work when I display the desktop, fullscreen movies, and Team Fortress 2; but for all of my other games (such as Portal 1, Portal 2, Sonic Generations, Planetside 2, and others), TV goes black immediately after the first logo screen on most (if that far).

Single-screen 20" Sonic Generations gives me a blue screen 2 out of 5 times that I play. Windows Explorer gives me errors 1 out of five times (and the errors force me to restart Explorer.exe in a loop of failure to the point that I have to log off and log back into Windows), and two out of five times are successful. The same happens with lesser frequency on Portal and Team Fortress.

Sapphire, please give me a way to directly contact you. If you're able, you and Newegg have permission to trade my Newegg account's e-mail address.

Manufacturer Response:

Your card should not be having the issues you describe.

The resolution that you are running on your TV may not be supported as it is not a HD resolution.

Please can you try a HD resolution such as 1920x1080 or 1280x720 to see if this corrects your issue.

3 out of 5 eggsGood visuals, mild capabilities

Pros: Graphics look good, framerates are smooth, and the fans stay a decent temperature.

Cons: I bought two of these and connected them via CrossfireX. On one monitor, they're fine. Doing regular things on two monitors is fine. But duplicating the displays so that my 20" and my 42" show exactly the same thing at the same resolution (both at a 16:9 ratio), many games I play won't show past the first screens that show the company names.

If you plan to hold parties where you give one player a computer monitor, and let other players watch on a 42" screen, try to find something with better firmware.

I also couldn't play the original Halo on my machine because these cards don't give me the ability to enable DirectDraw or Direct3D. I've contacted Sapphire about this issue, but they have not sent any reply.

I took a chance when buying these, and for Radeon, I'm sticking to ASUS.

Other Thoughts: These cards are great for the average player. I like more variety in what I do and play though, so these cards don't hit the spot for me.

AMD FX-4100@4.2GHz
Corsair H50 ^^^
16GB Corsair Vengence LP
Windows 7 Ult x64

Manufacturer Response:

Most DirectDraw and Direct3D errors are due to incomplete or corrupt DirectX drivers.

All of the 6xxx series cards are fully DirectX compatible and should not have any issues with DirectDraw or Direct3D.

You can download the latest version of DirectX from the Microsoft website.

Also, Please can you check that the resolution that you are cloning is compatible with both your TV and monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsThis card Rocks!!!

Pros: Easily handles everything I through at it, using a 32’ Vizio for a monitor with no buffering and everything set on high

Cons: Did not set up CrossFire

Other Thoughts: Now that the card is cheaper, I'm going to get another one to run in CrossFire!!!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat card but I've had problems

Pros: It's a solid graphics card and I'm running 2 of them in Crossfire.

Stock fan is quite capable of keeping it cool under huge stress.
Powerful card overall
Runs like new 2 years later.

Cons: Crossfire with 2 of these cards has little-to-no performance increase in my benchmarks. I've setup multiple SLI and crossfire machines so I feel confident in my ability to build for it, but the cards just don't give a good enough jump IMHO.

Fans can be a bit loud at times.

1 out of 5 eggsATI drivers.. nightmare

Pros: Awesome performance when working
Good price
Stays cool

Cons: This piece of junk has so many driver issues I don't know where to start.

40% better performance with unstable, old, unsupported drivers. BSOD with newest drivers.

I hate this thing.

Other Thoughts: ATI can burn in hell

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card

Pros: Fast
Plays BF3 without issue
able to add 6970 bios
had just over a year

Cons: Runs kinda hot at times but never affects games
3D is difficult to get working

Other Thoughts: this is a great card and hearing that less then a year someone gave it 1 egg dont let that discourage you in getting this card if u find it cause mine is still working on the 6970 bios without artifact or any other issue, Any new games has no issues and benchmarks scores are great.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed less than 1 year

Pros: Fast

Cons: Very large, failed less than a year.
Sapphire doesn't provide warranty from their site so you ahve to figure out where you bought the card, get original receipt and ask for warranty from partner. Arg! No more Sapphires for me.
