5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card especially for the money

Pros: Afordable card, 4 monitor ports, easy to install drivers/well updated drivers. Running many of the newer games at Max video settings for beautiful proformance. Using the same money I bought this card for, you will not find anything else come close in proformance.

Cons: Extreamly large card almost a full foot long, I had to cut my case to use it (still worth it). like many of the graphics cards it requires 600watt or better power supply (see specs page)

Other Thoughts: Do not let windows update install drivers in win 7 x64, use newest drivers from ATI website.
Measure your case to see if it will fit.

5 out of 5 eggsBig card - Great Performance

Pros: Runs 4 monitors off one card. Gaming is not my primary use of this card - it is needing a card for stock trading that runs four, 27" HP monitors @1920x1080. I hoped to go this route and save a PCI slot by using this rather than 2 video cards, and may spare myself any config. issues if the two cards didn't place nice with each other. It functions perfectly. The fans are quiet. Installed in Win7 Ultimate x64 with no issues.

Cons: It's really big. Measure your case carefully before buying one. I didn't have to hack my case, but others have had to modify and that may not be worth it for some. I had to do more experimenting and searching the web than I cared for to get all four ports to run 4 monitors. I didn't come across any documentation from the manufacturer that helped or described what to do to get 4 ports running (disable crossfireX).

Other Thoughts: Here and elsewhere others have complained that it will only support two monitors - not true. Enter Catalyst Control Center -> Graphics -> Crossfire X, and un-check "Enable CrossfireX". Win7 Ultimate x64 set it up with the latest drivers without a problem. Therefore, I did not install the Catalyst Control Center. I've installed the CCC on other machines and never used it. It seems that by default, CrossfireX is enabled on the card whether or not your install the CCC. The only way to disable it, or at least the way I did, was to install CCC, and then uncheck the CrossfireX option. Win7 will then "detect" your additional monitors.

Pros: This card is very Impressive for the cost some say it is noisy but I say it is not any more than that you would get if you have two stand alone cards this card is packing two gpu's and is very impressive for the buck I would recommend I was running duel 8800 gtoc nvidia in sli and was scoring over 9000 in 3d vantage with this card i am ranking over 12000 good jump it

Cons: I have no cons

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Card - Typical Flaws

Pros: Easy install in my full tower, Ran respectively cool considering it is 2 gpus. Finally got to play some Bioshock.

Cons: Well.. this is the second and LAST ATI card I have bought, the first one was a Sapphire and was DOA (Older model though, not this one) .. and this card.. well.. search the net for "VPU RECOVERY ERROR" that about covers it for me.

Other Thoughts: Ran Left 4 Dead 2 - max settings at 60fps constant.. very respectable, however... alot of flickering during loading screens, intermitten "mouse pointer" freezing on screen.. and if you are interested in Secondlife.. don't bother with this card.

5 out of 5 eggsThis card ROCKS!!!!!

Pros: 2 Gpu's , 1600 pipelines , 2 Gigs ram , Sturdy construction , Sexy look. This card even w/o DX11 drivers blows Nvidia clean out of the water without a flinch.

Cons: Big, and can be bit warm.

Other Thoughts: I have owned one of these puppies for just over a year and have not been disappointed. I bought my second one now and have been running quad crossfire, and WOW games play even faster than before and I have no trouble maxing every single in game setting, as well as Catalyst setting. This Card is definitely the best bang for your buck even at $230. I am running with a Phenom 2.8 Ghz quad core on the Asus M4A79 Deluxe board, and find my Grafx even with just one card worked much smoother and more openly(settings wise) with this Mobo, and highly suggest it as well if you plan to go AMD.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: Update to previous review a few days ago. Tried solving the Neverwinter Nights 2 problem, ruling this and that out. I noticed that my pointer in World in conflict was also flickering, but the game ran fine, Bioshock does stutter, but that is a Bioshock problem and new drivers. Nvidia has the same problem. I ruled out the cleaning of old drivers by reinstalling windows. It could also be a windows xp issue, has been noted before in the past with other cards. Seems stable though. In order to get rid of the pointer flickering in World in Conflict, you have to uninstall the drivers if installed them first and then installed the Nvidia board drivers. Reinstall the ATI driver. That seemed to fix it and also confirm that the NVIDIA board and ATI drivers for crossfireX mode do not play well together.

Cons: You really do need an AMD chipset board, probably one that supports crossfireX to make sure there are no compatibility issues. I am currently running a Nvidia 780A SLI chipset board, and while the card does work in crossfire mode on this board in some applications and games like World in Conflict, Age of Empires 3, it seems to have problems in Neverwinter Nights 2 and I am sure it would in other games as well. In order to not have a VPU Driver Recovery while loading Neverwinter Nights 2, I had to disable crossfire and run on one GPU. It ran it perfect that way. Not really a con per say, just more of a heads-up.

Other Thoughts: It would make sense that there could be some compatibility issues with an SLI mobo seeing as how the GPU channels information to and from the CPU through the Northbridge motherboard chipset. So how do you fix this? Well, the only way I see is to create a fushion setup by getting an AMD board with hybrid and/or crossfire X setup to make sure that crossfire mode will not cause any driver issues and make it that much more stable. I can't vouch for intel chips, they may play nice since they don't favor one chip or the other with the x58 series boards. Hope ths helps someone down the road. By the way, I ordered an ASROCK 785g crossfireX board from the egg to fix my small issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: -Very fast
-Runs fairly cool
-Cheap

Cons: -Loud
-HUGE (almost a foot, i measured about 11 3/4")

Other Thoughts: For the price it's really an unbeatable card. I got mine for 200$ and at this price it outperforms the GTX285 for a lot cheaper... how can you argue with that?

DX11 is just a gimmick for right now seeing as not too many games are picking it up for this year, so i figured i'd stick with a DX10 card for now since they're cheaper.

If you want monster performance and are sticking close to 200$, this card should be at the top of your list.

4 out of 5 eggsoldie but a goodie

Pros: get 20229 3dmark06 stock clocks with amd 945 @ 15 X 260...@3.9
can handle anything full bore 24Xaa . triple buff on open gl....everything - at 1400 900....well some slowdown, get 30fps on COD with EVERYTHING maxed- crysis plays 1400/900 at 8aa with NO slowdown.....this thing eats aa for dinner
noticeably better frame rates than my 4890 XFX non reference....
1600 SP ya
(: sexy looks :)

Cons: overclocking it to 700/1150 has no positive effect on performance.......weird huh ?but true-
non reference....but knew that!
cant play with voltages
rear fan spins slower than front fan....
loud at full speed
DDR 3 is a little pokey at 993

Other Thoughts: overall-++++++
I decided not to RMA because I like...
the best out there now for $$$ because reference 4890s are very hard to find now
will handle high aa better than 4890
peak frame rates might not be as high as a highly overclocked 4890.....I have now had both...
have 2D at 625/993 with traytools and desktop is Very snappy
o/c at 750 and 1150 had a net decrease in FPS with 3dmark 06 and furmark and crisis benchmark.....
If not for the lack of performance increase with overclock would absolutely give 5 eggs...a pretty kick tail card !
fast as is......I like 10 1 drivers the best after trying a bunch of them- I like tray tools over riva tuner.....
Very Respectable card....Seems to like a fast CPU-
my FPS gos up 200 on 3dmard06 with a 100mhz increase on cpu-
when you look at what you are really getting with this sub $250 card it comes up a solid player abit a little long on the tooth

5 out of 5 eggsATI RADEON 4850 X2

Pros: Plays MW2, COD 4 and BF BC2 1920x1080 on max settings, 4AA, with great frame rates. These are the only games I have tested this card on at this time. Your eyes will grow wide when you pull this card out of the box. I was like "Wow it's the size of a small infant!"

Cons: These are already stated...it's freakin huge. The cards length is near 12". It will pretty much form a wall between any exhaust fans on top of your case and your cpu. Does droop down on the end due to weight of card but it does not affect the performance at all. As reviewers have mentioned before unless you have a full size tower be prepared for the card to end up inside your drive cage. Fans are a little loud but nothing I can't live with.

Other Thoughts: I don't want to seem like I am coming down hard on this card. Quite frankly I am impressed with it's performance and I am glad that I bought it at the 209.99 price a month ago. For the price, nothing comes close to this card performance wise. As for the crossfire issues I have not experienced any and the new Catalyst drivers are great. It seems that while not officially supported by ATI, Sapphire has the latest drivers on their site. I plan on upgrading over the summer to the 5000 series but until then this card will continue to feed my addiction to gaming and do it without any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsIts powerful

Pros: Very powerful. I replaced a 8800GT SLI setup with this, and those were the ZOTAC AMP! Edition cards, very fast. Those scored 18,000 in 3DMARK 06 with a Phenom IIx4 at 3.5ghz. This card scores 19,200 overclocked to 690 and 1125 on the memory. Very Good, this also seems to have a smoother framerate vs. the nvidia cards.

Cons: Drivers. I am running 10.2, they seem pretty stable but I have one game that they do not like, Neverwinter Nights 2. They run great with World in Conflict, Bioshock, and 3DMARK 06. Oh well, minor flaw thats not really the cards fault as alot of games tend to favor NVIDIA cards which is a bunch of melarky.

Other Thoughts: My setup:
Asrock NVIDIA SLI 780A mobo
This card
GSKILL 1066 ram at 940mhz
Phenom II 945 @ 3.5ghz
Windows XP SP3
The rest don't matter lol.
