ATi Radeon Hd 3850
- Pros: This card is great! I played COD Modern Warfare and it works great on max. I am sure it will support other games if not on max, it will work on high.
- Cons: There is no con that I can tell. Maybe the fan can be a little loud at times but not too loud. It is expected when playing games for hours.
- Other Thoughts: Note: In order to play audio from the TV when connected through the TV you will need to use the DVI to HDMI Adapter (which is included with the card) with an hdmi cable.
At first I used dvi to hdmi cable and when no sound came out I thought this card don't have that feature, but it does.
Hope this will be helpful for anyone who connect the card to a Lcd-Tv to watch movies or anything else.
I am very happy with with this card hope other will too.
Product Is Not Pictured Correctly
- Pros: This card delivers. It is fast and runs all of my games at the highest settings with minimal stutters or frame skips. GTA IV runs EXCELLENT on this card with just my e6320 C2D and 2GB ram (XP SP3). This card would not be the weak link in the system wanting to run the most demanding game of all time. When GTA IV came out, it was the first game to access certain parts of the PS3 - it's no different on the PC and this card will definitely get you shooting gangsters and running from cops in high speed chases and FPS. card is shorter than pictured now.
- Cons: Card no longer has heatsink on ram, card is shorter now which is a good thing, but I don't know why, so it freaks me out a little. On one hand, it means it's been revised possibly with cooler running gear, on the other hand, it might have just been an excuse/easy way to price competitively. Still gets five stars for price, newegg, and it works so well.
- Other Thoughts: ATi drivers can be a pain in the rear end Catalyst 9.7 has not caused me any problems. If you are going to play GTA IV, BOOT into safemode with networking (Take 2 told me this) then install GTA IV there - run it - let it do the rest of the prereq installs, then run it, let it fail since you're in safe mode, then reboot - there is something wrong and for some reason this fixes it. They have no information to share on why yet, only that it works (and worked for me) If you are experiencing CTD or freezes in GTA IV, it's not your card - it's the installer wonking when you install with your full system loaded (apparently - but again, no solid info given to the techs at this point).
Highly recommend this card - it is better than getting most of the 4xxx series in my opinion because it will last a long time and the price is right. If you just want your PC to be fast and run your games well - this is the card to get, while it lasts.
Right Price Good Performance
- Pros: Matched up for crossfire X configuration on an MSI GD70 Mobo and AMD/ATI chipsets, these GPU's rendered very smoothly at default settings. They both idle at between 38 c and 41 c and max out at between 68 c and 69 c Overclocked at 739mhz Core/890mhz Memory. Plays Bioshock on XP very smoothly at default no need to overclock. Excellent Price At $65 each.
- Cons: Non so far.
- Other Thoughts: I'm not a huge gamer anymore
