1 out of 5 eggsBait and swap RMA 0 egg if I could

Pros: Had EVGA bios support which meant something at one time. Looked the part had the features. All neutral color scheme. Had all the ports and bits I wanted.

Cons: Everything. Thing worked ok in single card but failed SLI every time. Tech support took forever to even respond. After that they just sat there with no solutions that I have not already tired over a 3 mo period. Finally after 2 mo of this back and forth they decided it was the mobo and not my cards. They refused to X ship, refused my right to a non refirb model. Not like it worked then failed it was fail out of the box. I send it in, pay for shipping on a broke out of box board to get a FILTHY reflowed board that was clearly someone elses ex-nightmare. I mean it is FILTHY. I have seen cleaner floats by DIY hdw hackers. So I pay 280usd shipping then shipping again for a might work used board (slots were all banged up pcie ram etc even the IO was scratched up mobo mounts were cracked and a mess) full of flux and other rubbish from the reflow of the solder on the boards backside. NO way I would let this scratch dent reject be in one of my builds. I would not let clients see this let alone my family or the DOG. I dumped this thing and bought a ASUS rampage formula and never looked back.

Other Thoughts: This lack of care lack of quality of work, and lack of care of a consumer has me cold. I will never touch EVGA again. I would rather deal with Chinese CS or Taiwanese CS.
This screw the consumer vs the company with $$$$ on product is bad. I should not have to pay to return defective hdw, I should not accept subpar refirbs for NIB prices. EVGA as a brand as a company should provide me the consumer paying top dollar with a working product in new condition.
To note I have a older EVGA board that was suppose to be no Chinese caps, it started blowing caps. I de-solder them to see they are not Japanese but more knockoff Chinese caps. Stick with ASUS even Gigabyte since they are far better. Sadly near nothing is made in Taiwan anymore, all china.

If car dealers sold cars this way they would be in court in no time.
Now that the old BIOS team has left there is no reason to touch EVGA now. Maybe for the SC high ram video cards but could you trust to play the lotto on getting a working card and not deal with the bait and swap refirb junk card for new price game?

1 out of 5 eggspoor board

Pros: it has the bells and whistles

Cons: the usb 3.0 doesnot work and it keeps losing the bootmgr and nero vision does not work

Other Thoughts: i will most likely by a refurb board. after looking on the net the bootmgr problem seems to be part of the board and im tired of paying to send back faulty items.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Very Pleased.. Frustrated!

Pros: EVGA 3 Year Warranty and Free UPS Shipping both ways for RMA's. Worked for 1 week on stock settings.

Cons: Board has not worked right since purchase on June 1st. On my 3rd RMA and 4th board. I purchased this board as slight upgrade from a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 for the SATA 3 / USB 3 support. The system stays stable at stock CPU settings. I'm running an i7 920 and have had it OC'd for the last year at 4Ghz solid on the Gigabyte board. I try to get the motherboard to OC and it keeps failing at 3.8Ghz and will not come back on at all, no POST, no LED read out. I've talked with an EVGA tech level 2, Ian, and said it was a bad processor or power supply. I replaced power supply and still not working. When I called EVGA today I was told by a manager, Jason, that Gigabyte X58 chipsets modify my CPU so it will not work in any other board. I contacted John at Gigabyte and he laughed stating if Gigabyte modified the Intel X58 chip set or the Intel processor in any way they would lose their Intel licensing. This is the first time I feel disappointed with EVGA.

Other Thoughts: I'm very dissatisfied with this. I have over 30 products personally from EVGA since 2007. I am a computer business owner and have been doing this for over 20 years. I'm very frustrated with this product. Every board I have received has died at this same OC attempt. This is supposed to be an enthusiast board. If you are just using stock settings and 1066 RAM you are fine. My Gigabyte motherboard just ran Prime95 for 9hrs 40mins at 4.0Ghz stable. I'm putting this next RMA board on auction. I will stop selling EVGA motherboards in my shop as I feel I have been misled. If this was for a customer of mine, I would have lost their business. I cannot get a refund through NewEgg since I went through EVGA for support. EVGA will not give a refund either since I did not purchase through them. I’m waiting for RMA shipping label to come in my inbox. Very frustrated.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: When it works it's nice.

Cons: I have had to consistently RMA this motherboard. All of a sudden the computer froze and when restarted the board boots directly to "FF" code. This is my 2nd EVGA board that I have had problems with, and the 3rd or 4th RMA. No more.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this board! It is an overpriced piece of junk.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Very sorry to hear of your RMA experience. Can you please email me your serial number so I can look into this for you, Matth@evga.com

2 out of 5 eggsDon't sidegrade

Pros: Works well, good warranty, good bios

Cons: This board has a absolutely unbearably HORRIBLE SATA 3 6GB/s chipset driver. First off, false advertising. There are absolutely NO sata ports that will reach CLOSE 6 gb/s. The MAX these sata 3 ports will hit is 5 gb/s. Second, its SATA 3 chipset is jmicron. My two sata 3 SSD sin raid 0 were slower on those chipsets than one sata 3 SSD on the intel chipset. So basically I paid for sata 6 and got ripped off.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried USB 3.0. who cares its a gimmick as well just like the sata 3. I got suckered into this awful sidegrade. Don't do it. I've been regretting spending money on this for months since Its exactly the same as the old motherboard I was using except with usb 3.0 which I don't have anything for.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with the performance of the Marvell Sata 3/6G ports. At the time of release the Marvell controller was the fastest Sata 3 option available as Sata 3 was not native to the chipset. If you benchmark the sata 3 vs sata 2 ports with a sata 3 drive you will see a higher mark, however it will not be the same as a native sata 3 controller. This is true of all X58 generation boards.

5 out of 5 eggsWe shall see

Pros: Good looking board

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: I used to buy a lot of EVGA MBs and Graphic cards till 2 years ago when i spent $1700 on parts for my build only after a cpl months my EVGA mobo started the endless loop of restarting. I RMAed the board and after EVGA got the board back they informed me that the plastic CPU guard was missing and one of the pins bent and wanted to charge me $75 to fix it!!!! how convenient!!! After having to pay shipping to them of $25 and then their $75 for fixing a 2 month old board i told him to keep it and i wouldnt spend one more dollar on a board that i was not impressed with in the 1st place, slow load times ect ect. I told him if his board had not been defective in the 1st place i wouldnt have had to send it in and the pin wouldnt have gotten bent. that fell on deaf ears so until this board i have not spent any more money on their products... i have my fingers crossed on this board. i hope they fixed their defective x5 chipset from the endless restarting loop.

3 out of 5 eggscooler issues

Pros: nice looking board

Cons: there is this little chip that prevents me from mounting my noctua D14

Other Thoughts: hope newegg lets me return it.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I am sorry to hear your aftermarket cooler does not fit on the board. I can recommend you try turning it 90 degrees to see if you can mount it.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat board I think

Pros: made a vast inprovement on my pc till the bsod`s started a day after install.order my upgrades on March 2 2012 and did the install on the 9th of March after work

Cons: order this board in early march and have been fighting bsod`s since the second day.when i order the mobo I also picked up the haf 932 advance case.I-7-950 cpu and 16 gigs of patriot ram.have just found out marvell driver is not compatible with my version of windows(windows 7 home prem.)i had kept my old hard drive that had windowa vista as the os(picked up wndows 7 since my old pc was a dell build thought the problem was there)found out at patriot websit forums there techs say the ram i picked up for it is not compatible with the motherboard(my fault for not checking a little harder)going to marvell website to get the update is a nightmare.the tell you the correct driver is in your pc but not clearly where and which one.

Other Thoughts: none of this is neweggs fault.on my way to open a ticket up with EVGA support.all most bald from trying to fix this without rma anything and anymore $$$$`s involved
