5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed

Pros: ....with this LITTLE mobo. Never installed a Micro-ATX before. Very impressed with FSB speed. SETUP utility is quite comprehensive. Handled all the drives (and 2 GB memory) I threw at it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just a little niggly complaint: manual (though generally quite good) could have been a little better at explaining some SETUP options, such as those for fan control.

2 out of 5 eggsbroken part?

Pros: Nice looking board, small, well layed out, and fits nice in my computer case.

Cons: The Video card that i have (ATi 4850), had a hard time fitting into the PCI-e x16 slot. also, the yellow Latch for holding the card in was broken off when inside the package, don't know if that was supposed to be broken off or if it broke off during shipping

3 out of 5 eggsFor the price it's ok

Pros: It supports an Athlon II X4 635 which to be honest I was concerned it wouldn't. I first replaced the motherboard of this emachines T5200 hoping that the improved chipset would show a performance increase paired with the original CPU. Not sure if it did as I switched back over to Ubuntu which runs smoother than Windows Vista so the performance could've all been in the OS. However, as I encode I wanted a quad core but didn't quite want to have to pay for new DDR3 ram when I already have DDR2.

Cons: Foxconn rarely updates their BIOS and for the last week their entire support website has been down. I originally wanted the Phenom II X4 945 C3 revision but the chip was so new I didn't want to take the chance this motherboard wouldn't support it.

Other Thoughts: Really this motherboard is just for light updates if you previously had an AM2 board and want to keep the DDR2 ram. An AM3 overhaul right now isn't really smart at this point as in the first quarter of next year AMD is planning on releasing the Bulldozer and Intel is going to release the Sandy Bridge both of which are going to mean huge strides in future tech and software. Remember when CPU's were cartridges and ran around 600 MHz or so? Then the socket CPU's came out and were running around 1 GHz. I'm thinking the 2011 CPU's are going to be of a change about the same magnitude. So top of the line for this year is going to be outdated in the beginning of next year as it is.

1 out of 5 eggsMotherboard DOA

Pros: None that I can see so far.

Cons: DOA. lovely just lovely. I bought it as a replacement for my other motherboard going bad. Install this one and no video at all. Tried 2 video cards, 2 monitors, on board, DVI, VGA. Doesnt matter. Nothing seems to be working on. Last time I buy a foxconn ever again.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully the refund gets taken care of quickly. Just going to put the money into buying a better chipset and cpu.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: -Cheap
-Reliable
-Good BIOS
-Simple
-Supports AM2/AM2+/AM3 CPU's
-Supports SATA and IDE PATA
-Supports 2.2v Kingston Hyper X DDR2 at 1066Hz
-Small
-Did I mention cheap?
-Good Manual
-Nice Box too

Cons: Not really cons but:
-Parallel port?.. why?
-serial port?.. again why?
-PS2 ports... eh.. I'd prefer more USB's
- 4 pin board Sysfan

Other Thoughts: This is a great board, I had my doubt cuz I never heard of Foxconn but figured for the price it wouldn't hurt to try it on a budget pc build. Boy was I surprised. Excellent quality, GOOD BIOS as well as some nice features.

This thing booted up with a socket AM3 AMD Athlon II X3 2.7GHz Triple core no problem. Ram (Kingston Hyper X 1066Hz) was being used at 800Hz at first, simple BIOS adjustment allowed it to use full 1066Hz no problem, completely stable. CPU was relatively easy to overclock but chose not to, it's a budget pc not a gaming rig.

All in all great bang for the buck, awesome little board DOES support AM3 cpu's and 1066Hz DDR2... works nicely with Windows 7. Will most definitely buy Foxconn again in the future.. the Manual/diagram of the board was also very detailed and awesome. Was easy to connect the front panel LED/POWER.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, for the price

Pros: This mobo is cheap, and it's small. If you need a budget AMD board, and you have a small case, this one will do the trick...it only has one PCIe-x16 slot, one PCIe-x1 slot, and two PCI slots, but that's all I need. The onboard video is okay, for onboard graphics, as long as you don't want to do any gaming.

Cons: Only supports 4GB of RAM...(but the manual says 8GB, so I'm a bit confused on that...I'm personally running two 2GB sticks, and they all 4 work in 64-bit Ubuntu...but I haven't tried it with 4GB sticks), not very many slots, it does run hot, as other reviewers have noted.

Other Thoughts: If you need a cheap AMD mobo with not very many add-on cards, this one will do the trick. I have had no stability problems whatsoever with this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsStrange Behavior

Pros: Worked eventually with W7 HP, see cons.

Cons: I had to go part of the way through an XP installation to get this mobo to recognise my SATA boot drive during W7. Very weird. Tried numerous combinations of W7 and IDE and SATA HDs with CD/DVD/Flash installation media, none of which would pick up the hard drive during the install process. Started an install with XP SP3, it saw and formatted said HD, at the first reboot inserted the W7 DVD and the installation went ahead smoothly. It has worked fine from then on. Go figure, 3 hours of one Saturday afternoon I wont see again.

2 out of 5 eggsa little off

Pros: Very nice features for an inexpensive Athlon X2 build, upgradeable and expandable with x16, x1, 2 PCI, 4 USB in rear and extra 3 USB on board. Uses DDR2 which has faster timing than DDR3. Has 'legacy' support for PATA so you can transfer from older HDD's or use OD's.

Cons: Doesn't accept Antec case HDD LED light socket - had to cut wires and manually stick then on the pins. Doesn't accept CoolerMaster Elite PS 4-pin PS socket (ridiculous for such a long--time standard) ... had to cut rim off 4-pin socket to fit. Board freezes up in 5 minutes streaming Netflix, freezes up in 1/2 hour playing MP3's. Board didn't recognize Mushkin memory speed or voltage. Only came with 1 SATA cable. Can't re-install drivers from CD if your MS .NET is upgraded.

Other Thoughts: FoxConn support is excellent beyond any expectations, but no solution could be found. RMA'd board for MSI.
