2 out of 5 eggsWas Good, Hoping 3 is the Magic Number

Pros: Massive RAM bank, low cost for all you get, SAS support

Cons: Quality Control issues. I'm returning my second one today. First one lasted about 2 months, then it stopped POSTing. Supermicro RMAed, charged me $50 for a 'bent CPU pin.' No way the pin bent while in use but whatever, here's the money. Sent a dud replacement. I want this machine to work, I've got 6k in it, but this is Uber-Frustrating.

Other Thoughts: You can't beat the price / value ratio on this board. MASSIVE RAM bank, dual CPU's. Intel doesn't even offer a board with this much RAM space. But the QC issues are real, as documented previously. The tech - who is very helpful - seems to know this is an issue as well.

2 out of 5 eggsSluggish

Pros: Supports dual 2011 v2
Sturdy
All cables included

Cons: Only half the PCI slots work with 1 CPU
The BIOS post takes forever.
Got a B7 memory post error first time powering on. Called tech support, they said to reset the BIOS and I did said "problem fixed - ok - bye"
Having a memory issue again where the south channels of RAM will not work in ANY configuration, so I have only the single lane memory with 6x16gb, and it's shaky at best. I feel I got a lemon of a board. But the POST time - takes forever compared to my Intel boards.

4 out of 5 eggsOne word..WOW! Awesome mainboard, superfast and stable.

Pros: This server main-board is one of the easiest ones I have ever setup. Super fast and stable.

Cons: No documentation! What the heck? You must go online and do your research before buying RAM & CPU's for this board, also must download all documentation and drivers.

Other Thoughts: Would have given 5 stars to this product, but for reasons unknown, the manufacturer doesn't offer drivers and documentation with the purchase of this or any of their other products from now on.
But will purchase again, because it's a great product.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing server motherboard

Pros: 24 RAM slots; perfect for heavy duty virtualization duties. Has a separate management port so you can even power the server off and on remotely.

Cons: BIG! Make sure you know beforehand if you have a case that can support the Supermicro EE-ATX format. I mounted this board into a Corsair 540 and it barely fit.

Other Thoughts: I used this motherboard to build a VMWare server for my lab environment at home. Fully populated with 8GB modules, this will give you 192GB of RAM. That is a LOT of headroom for VMs.
