5 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: It seems like a really solid board. I would buy from ASRock again.

Cons: I don't normally like perpendicular SATA connections because I have a lot of right-angle cables, but I'm not sure edge-mounted SATA connections would have fit in my case anyway.

Other Thoughts: We bought this because it has the ports and size we needed. That's what you should do, too.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great for 13 months, until tonight

Pros: Easy setup, pretty versatile for being so cheap.

Cons: HDMI quality wasn't as good as DVI for some reason. Now fails to even POST.

Other Thoughts: 3 short beeps, followed by short beeps, repeating. Cleaned all the dust out, tried clearing CMOS, swapping RAM, switching from HDMI to DVI, it just will no longer POST. Worked fine last night.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer,

Sorry to hear the mainboard's failed to POST. We will be more than happy to assist you.
3 beeps usually related to memory.
Please clear the CMOS.
Test with single memory module, switching another memory if problem still persist..

5 out of 5 eggsgreat MoBo for wife's computer

Pros: covers all my needs and works without flaw

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I chose this MoBo specifically to accept components from another (more advanced) rig as I upgraded it. The features of this MoBo for value are excellent.

On a side note, I was getting BSODs (Win7) from the rig I had this MoBo on. ASRock's customer service was VERY HELPFUL in determing that the MoBo was NOT at issue. They RMA'd and picked up the shipping, tested the unit, and shipped it back - all at no cost to me. I later identified the problem as an incompatible PCI card...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great board and value with RAID. I have 3 of these boards and was here to buy another since the other brand of board I decided to try has let me down twice within days. To bad these are OOS now.

Cons: None so far

1 out of 5 eggsNewegg support is the worst

Pros: None

Cons: When I recieved this motherboard I was very excited. Having already built 3 other computers I put in the cpu. But I realized that there was no cpu cover. I disregarded, but having installed everything and it didnt work I was told my newegg rma that I bent the pins! That makes me off beyond belief considering that I did not bend these pins my self!

Other Thoughts: The newegg rma support is trash!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ASRock mainboards are fully tested and inspected to assure the quality.
The CPU socket has been covered with protection CAP to avoid damage the pins.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Just about everything.

I wanted to build a very powerful yet resourceful and compact machine. I coupled this with the Thermaltake Urban SD1 micro case and aside from being reasonably challenging to build, it has been worth it every second.

With a core i7(mine is 377k), GTX 760, a SSD, and 4GB PC3 12800 memory it is one tough little machine to serve as the center of my bedroom.

Drivers are all available online, the manual was very enlightening in the least, and the board looks cool as hell. I would like to use this very board when building PC for other people. Definitely recommend!

Cons: Nothing at all. It has great reviews for a reason. If you get a bad one it has nothing to do with the engineers and their work.

Other Thoughts: It's good to assume there is very little chance that the board is bad on it's own anyways. It's easy to miss a flaw in how you execute work on a machine and blame it on the hardware. If you are perceptive of how you do things and take the right precautions you should have very little to worry about.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product, watch out around the expansion slots

Pros: Good design for small cases
Reliable (thus far)

Cons: Audio components positioning (see below)

Other Thoughts: This board has been working great in my HTPC for the last 8 months. The only issue is to watch out when installing expansion cards, especially in a slim case. The traces for the audio run along the board between the slots and the edge of the board, so if your not careful you can scratch off the traces and lose on board sound. Still didn't stop me from buying another one to replace it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
As always, we glad to replacing the mainboard if the mainboard is malfunctioned.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: cheap for an intel board

Cons: Just about everything. I get blue screen dumps about every other day. Basically every game I have attempted to play since switching to this board crashed randomly and pretty often. I hear surges going from one speaker to another at times. I have switched my video card thinking it was the cause at first but all of the problems still exist. It is definitely the board.

Other Thoughts: Lesson learned. Don't cheap out on your motherboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
BSOD (blue screen) usually related to memory issue,
Please download and update the latest BIOS at link " http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H77M/?cat=Download&os=BIOS " .
Set the UEFI BIOS default.
Test with single memory module, switching another memory if problem still persist.

2 out of 5 eggsGood until HDMI stopped

Pros: Great specs, worked well, except...

Cons: After owning it one year and three months, onboard HDMI stopped working. The BIOS screen does not even appear when on HDMI. It will sometimes work after unplugging for about an hour, but upon reboot HDMI stops again. VGA still works, and otherwise the PC is fine.

Other Thoughts: I tested with one stick of RAM, unplugged all other components, bought a new power supply, updated BIOS, even pulled the CMOS battery! Considering the PC still works, and that the BIOS splash screen does not show when on HDMI, it has to be an HDMI issue.

It's really disappointing that it stopped working right after the 1 year warranty was up.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please set the UEFI BIOS default.
Check the monitor has set to HDMI.
Test with another HDMI cable.
