4 out of 5 eggsASRock Z77 1155 MB

Pros: UEFI Bios is very nice, OC to 4 Gig on 2500K was a breeze( using Corsair H100 water cooler also ) , XMP for memory profile worked flawlessly, I was able to replace old MB without re-installing OS.

Cons: The PCI-E 3.0 slot does NOT support my PCI-E 3.0 video card. After some exhaustive research I found out that some Z77 chipsets simply will not recognize a 3.0 card.

Other Thoughts: As others have stated, it is very hard to find a descent 1155 MB anymore, so with limited options this MB is ok and will allow you to extend your use of older chips.

4 out of 5 eggsMy 2nd Time Around

Pros: It is a stable board that has plenty of features. You can pay a lot more for less.

Cons: This board is just too thin. If you have a large air cooler and a couple of full size GPU's there is quite a bit of stress that can cause warping. It is just a little bit more narrow than my old Gigabyte board so it only uses 6 hold down screws rather than a standard 9 so this is even less stability for mounting. If you need to pack up and move just remember to remove those heavy items before you box it up or the board will break.

Other Thoughts: The ATX 1155 socket is just getting harder and harder to find so I really had no choice but to purchase this a second time. The first one the DIMM slots burned out after a GPU upgrade

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very sleek M/B. Best fit in a midi case I ever did. No problem at all with the rear panel. Installed 32 gigs of ram and a four gig video card with NO issues. Luv the Cmos!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing board. No issues with mine.

Pros: Great board. Operates very well and everything installed flawlessly. All the xfast features are pretty nice ( xfastlan, xfastusb and the tuner center). Very clean and sleek looking. Intel core i5 running at 3.2, corsair hydro series H60 and 16 gb Ripjaws (2x8 gb) running very smoothly.

Cons: No cons. Make sure you update your windows before installing the drivers from the cd. Some may conflict causing the blue screen of death.

2 out of 5 eggsIt was great until it died.

Pros: When its working, this is an excellent Z77 board that lets you squeeze the life out of an older CPU. It's fast with lots of tweaking options.

Cons: Unfortunately, it died after about 3 months. I turned it off one night and it refused to power up again. After trying another PSU, which I later used to successfully power up a different board, it still wouldn't power up.

5 out of 5 eggsStill running strong

Pros: Multi-Architecture Compatible, solid build, for my "mobile" carry RIG.

Cons: Wish I'd known about this earlier. Not the greatest space for coolant setups.

Other Thoughts: If compability, and dependability continue to be the theme, this will continue to be a good product.

4 out of 5 eggsGenerally good, issues with BIOS

Pros: All the bells and whistles you could want

Cons: RAM slots very close to CPU - reduces selection of aftermarket coolers you can use
BIOS can behave strangely

Other Thoughts: This board seems to be pretty hit-or-miss in terms of reliability. I seem to have gotten lucky with a board that has gone nearly 4 years without any problems - almost - I did have a major problem with it where it would hang and fail to post once, and only once, a day. After power cycling the computer it would behave as normal for another ~24 hours. Wasn't able to find anybody with a similar problem and wasn't able to fix it myself despite updating the firmware, clearing the CMOS, etc. Just when I ran out of things to try the problem completely disappeared on its own and the board has been behaving 100% since, making this the only self-repairing mobo I've ever owned.

1 out of 5 eggsEh..

Pros: lots of fun features/software. a sturdy board.

Cons: ports end up dying. power consumption seems wasteful.

Other Thoughts: this was the 2nd ASRock board i purchased. the first was their B-model which ended up doing exactly what this model did. i purchased both for the LGA 1155 slot, and although the Z77 has had great reviews in the past, there seem to be a stream of bad reviews coming in.

major problem with ASRock that i've dealt with are their ports working for a few weeks and then not work. to the manufacturer who responds to this review: Yes, I did troubleshoot all the ports/slots. and Yes, I did reset the CMOS/BIOS in an attempt to start from scrap. That is a day of my life i will not get back.

The only plus side to the mobo's failing is the added learning....

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It didnt catch on fire and melt my face or start eating babies.

Cons: Everything else.
Okay thats a little vague but its seriously too much to list.

Other Thoughts: I was running this board with windows 7 64 bit and it gave me nothing but trouble. I got all these random weird errors. BSOD, random programs crashing, and i think the weirdest one is the inability to right click on programs in the system tray.I would get a message one time that said a file was corrupt then a second later it was fine and would run. I clicked on one of my other hard drives and it was like it was accessing the dvd writer lol. Just really odd and crazy errors. Then i have an external USB hard drive for storage and it would randomly quit working and everytime i wanted to access it i had to unplug it and plug it in a few times to get it to work, also it had to be a 2.0 slot or it would quit working even faster. Thing is i know all the other hardware and peripherals are good and worked fine before i got this board. Now nothing seems to work. Im RMAing the board and asking for a refund. Maybe i was just unlucky and got a bad board but whatever the case im going back to MSI and Gigabyte, ive never in 20 years of building comps had issues like this so this turned me off from ASRock for the foreseeable future. I probably wouldnt even use one of their boards if it was given to me.

Manufacturer Response:
