5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: Good price, very good UEFI BIOS for overclocking and great user interface, good number of USB ports, good number of case fan outlets, and good number of SATA's for a beginner.

Cons: This may be more of a pro than a con, but there are only two PCI Express x16 slots on the board. There are more than enough features to make up for this, though.

Other Thoughts: The board come sli/crossfire ready, and it is easy to set up and use. I like that is has a CMOS default reset switch on the outside, near the ports.

2 out of 5 eggsCrossfire Issues

Pros: Pretty cheap, most basic things work, good BIOS.

Cons: Crossfire does not work with my dual HD 7950s. Either card will boot in either spot, but when I boot with both it will not initiate boot OS like it cannot detect the HD with both cards in. The best part is, they do not offer the same level of RMA service like most companies. They will not send you a replacement while putting a hold on your credit card. You have to be without a computer for up to 2 weeks. I will never buy another ASRock product for this reason. Their customer service also sends vague emails in broken english. Go with a brand with a decent RMA program, this one is the worst I have encountered with any part I've used.

Other Thoughts: buy a brand with real RMA support for real users.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

Sorry to hear that mainboard having issue with dual HF 7950.
Please reseat the VGA cards firmly with its PCIE power.
Check if the power supply meets the requirement wattage for 2 x VGA cards.

However, we will be more than happy to replace the mainboard if it’s malfunctioned.
For the returning product, please refer to RMA policy at " http://www.ASRock.com/support/index.asp?cat=Policy ".

1 out of 5 eggsspend the money on better board!!!!!!

Pros: worked great while it lasted.

Cons: started having usb problems and then usb 2.0 ports died and 3.0 ports do not recognize 2.0 devices. i have owned almost every other board out there and never had a problem with a motherboard before. do not buy this board. i will not use asrock boards ever again. i dont care if they gave me a new one i would throw it in the trash. its not worth the headache.

Other Thoughts: newegg should stop selling this trash. asrock is trash save your money and time

5 out of 5 eggsStill running strong...

Pros: This MB has a really easy to use BIOS, and a lot of nice add on features available in the software package instead of just useless bloatware.
I've had this MB since 2012 and it it still chugging along great with the many upgrades I've done along the way.

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsUSB Fails

Pros: I've had this board just over a year now. For me, it has been fine, until that last month or so both the USB 2 and USB 3 ports are starting to die.

Cons: The USB 2 and USB 3.0 ports are dying. I will be right in the middle of something and my mouse and keyboard freeze (until reboot), and I lose everything. Happens every couple of days now. Did a fresh reinstall (went from Windows 7 x64 to Windows 8.1 x64) in order to determine if it was a software/driver problem, and the problem came back instantly. Tried 2 different mice and one different keyboard with no luck. It is absolutely the motherboard. All BIOS updates and other such options have been tried with no luck. Plain and simple, these motherboards have great accessories, but are just flaky. I believe it is a physical design issue rather than firmware. I was a pc tech for 6 years. The motherboard is at fault here.

Other Thoughts: At least it wasn't DOA. However, it is a real pain in the keester to have all your software and OS installed and have to replace a motherboard. Other things can be replaced far more easily (no os reinstall, etc). A motherboard needs to be solid. I would advise choosing a different board.

Pros: This motherboard should be all anyone needs :D! good rma response !

Cons: DOA sent back, apparently this is a problem , biggest con was i had to wait a week to get it 4 days to ship back and then another 4 days to get my money back all without a working pc !

Other Thoughts: Make manafactures test their products before you sell it !!

5 out of 5 eggsJust One Additional Thought

Pros: See my earlier review.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Just one additional thought--After reading a number of the negative reviews here, I have to agree with one of the commentators who noted that almost all of the problems listed are easy to fix for someone with more tech experience. If you are buying ANY motherboard, it is presumed that you are going into it understanding that "some assembly is required" and have the basic technical skill and knowledge to accomplish the task. Don't buy into the negative reviews of a bunch of hacks who don't really know what they are doing. Especially troubling are the negative reviews from people who can't even write in coherent sentences with proper spelling and punctuation (e.g., the guy who claims to have 30 years of computer building experience and repeatedly misspells "heatsink" as "heat-sync.")

If you really DO have a board with a defect (and this goes for all manufacturers, not just ASRock), don't complain about the lack of customer support when you aren't even willing to make the effort to reach out to them. The number of people on here who have complained about bad boards and made no effort to contact tech support is simply astounding.
