4 out of 5 eggsRuns OK So Far

Pros: Easy to set up. Booted right up. Can OC to a stable 4.4 Ghz using an Ivy Bridge CPU.

Cons: AMI UEFI Bios. Very layered. Took me a good week before I could maneuver around settings. Then again, I'm been using Award Bios's for many years, hence the learning curve. No other issues to report, such as faulty USB ports.

Other Thoughts: My first AsRock board. Hopefully, this 3 yr. old board will last the warranty period.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong 22 months later.

Pros: Approaching 2 years ownership. It hasn't faltered yet. The UEFI is nice.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Keeping this a while. According to benchmark charts the i5-3570k is still a solid gaming proc. Upgrade to a DDR4 board has not been necessary yet. Haswell wasn't a big improvement over the 1155. Skylake looks very promising though.

1 out of 5 eggsTrash

Pros: Okay motherboard....while it works.

Cons: I'm on the third board right now.
-1st motherboard was having issues with the USB ports after 1 year. Some ports just stopped working and the others were working intermittently.

-2nd motherboard (replacement) started with the same USB port issues after 3 months and also stopped recognizing my GPU.

Waiting on the 3rd motherboard....

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggslate review, after issue

Pros: worked amazing out of the box, as expected of a mobo!

Cons: as of today, i'm not sure if i was the one to break it, but after swapping out some graphics cards to check to see if they all worked, my rear audio jacks seemed to have messed up. although i get power through them, no actual audio is heard. i use razer megalodons, which arent broken, and utilize all ports for the rear audio.

in the bios it shows that only the orange port is plugged in to (all plugs in use though). in realtek audio manager, it shows all the ports in use, but not a single sound is coming out of them aside from an ambient hum (from being plugged in). if i remove the green stereo plug, they all recognize as removed.

swapped all default devises, reinstalled all drivers, updated bios. no fix.

Other Thoughts: it's sad that i'll now need to pay a hefty sum of money to replace this nice motherboard after a strange screw up, money i dont currently have. i didnt realize swapping graphics cards would cause this problem, especially when i had no issues with placing them in or removing them. the cards installed like butter.

1 out of 5 eggsBe ready for a fight if you get a motherboard with any bent pins.

Pros: Generally high quality

Cons: I received this motherboard with one bent CPU pin. Not something I could have done myself without damaging other pins around it(. I requested an RMA and was told I'd receive an email with instructions, which I never got. After calling back and finally getting the email, I got the instructions which indicated there would be a charge of $50 for any returns with bent pins. I've been very pleased in the past with AS-Rock, but this return policy is ridiculous. They should be paying for their errors. By the way, I have to pay return shipping on this.

Other Thoughts: I won't be buying any more AS-Rock products. I've only used their MB's for the last five personal systems that I've built. I'll start buying Asus instead.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. ASRock mainboards are fully tested to assure the quality.
The CPU socket has been covered with protection CAP to avoid damage the pins.

2 out of 5 eggsUSB Ports Issue

Pros: Nice board

Cons: USB ports would not recognize keyboards upon POST most of the time. This made it very difficult to change settings.

Front USB ports died after a few days

Other Thoughts: Returning motherboard and ordering a replacement.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please clear the CMOS.
Plug keyboard and mouse to USB 2.0 ports (gray) to test.

Please update the replacement mainboard's working fine.

5 out of 5 eggsPersistence is key

Pros: - Full size board
- Dr. Debug
- Plenty of USB ports
- Internal power and reset button
- Great BIOS gui
- Sata connections in excellent location
-Excellent Newegg Customer Service

Cons: - A bit flimsy (bends really easy)
- Questionable product quality control

Other Thoughts: It took some effort to get a fully working board however worth the effort. I went through 3 DOA boards until I got a working one. The first 3 kept getting code 55 in Dr. Debug. I tried everything under the sun (minus toying with the CPU socket) to get them to work and then RMA'd them. I don't condone doing what I am about to mention but feel its a good troubleshooting tip if one is comfortable with inspecting (I've been working computers for 16 years). The first 3 boards, I did not even bother to inspect the CPU socket pins because, to be quite honest, I shouldn't have to at all. The 4th board I decided "eh, I will just look" and I got out my trusty magnifying lens and inspected the pins on the CPU socket. Lo and behold, one bent pin. Fast forward to today, its up and working for one week, all USB ports, 32GB of ram etc. (previously only 1 USB port worked and DIMM slots 1 and 2). I got lucky, finding the bent pin.

Just to note: After resolving the code 55 I had a code 62 pop up which I had to remedy by using the onboard video and shutting down properly. Once I did that, I plugged my PCI-E card back in and everything was fine.

I understand that things happen such as defective products and its important to be understanding and patient. I did not deduct any eggs for the defective boards (thanks to Newegg support for being so helpful). If you are like me and are desperate for a full ATX LGA 1155 board (this one is pretty much the only one in town) then just roll with the punches...it'll work out.

- I had 2 processors, 32 GB of RAM (8GB x 4) to test to rule out any issues on my end (memory controller, bad ram, etc.).

3 out of 5 eggsGood until it Died

Pros: Lasted 2 1/2 years with no issues

Cons: Only Lasted 2 1/2 years

Other Thoughts: Had 0 issues with this then I had no signal from gfx card. Tried the other PCI Express 3.0 X16 slot and sill nothing. Tried an old Gfx card. Still nothing. Would not even see motherboard boot logo. No signal at all.
Swapped to the on board gfx and bam signal was there.....
Spent alot of time troubleshooting this and it was and still is very frustrating. Guess I have to RMA so I can play SC2...
