4 out of 5 eggsWorks, Good Board

Pros: Lots of Features.

Cons: The only thing I don't like about this board is the sideways facing SATA ports, it makes it hard to plugin things especially when you don't have a lot of wiggle room in your case!

2 out of 5 eggsThis was a bust

Pros: The UEFI is very easy to understand. It has a lot more space than my other board did, which was a micro atx.

Cons: While there is more space, it is still very cramped, to the point that my cpu water cooler is taking up space for one of my RAM slots.
Also, while the UEFI is easy to understand, it automatically started overclocking my CPU (i7 3770 3.4 GHz) to 4.3 GHz with the first boot to the UEFI because settings were already on the board for overclocking instead of letting me turn them on myself.
Lastly, there seems to be a problem with the RAM slots (other than one being blocked by my cooler) in that with the new RAM I bought (G.Skill Trident, 2x 8GB), and with the RAM I used to have (2x 4GB, which was still in working order when I was setting up this new rig), I get BSoDs (bcCode 50) stating hardware issues. Just in case it was driver or PSU related, I switched to my old PSU and removing the MSI NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB GDDR5 Gold Edition graphics card. I still constantly got hardware BSoDs. I even cleared cMOS. And reseated my CPU and cooler. (I've read the ASRock comments throughout here, so this should answer all of y'all's steps as to what to try.)

Other Thoughts: I was rather excited about this, setting up a new rig and everything. So these issues are rather dissapointing.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy

Pros: Motherboard is small, compact for an ATX motherboard, good complete documentation

Cons: Error code 55 at start-up (no memory detected) found two inside memory sockets bad using known good memory

Other Thoughts: Make sure what you buy is good, cause newegg will find away not to refund your purchase. Customer since 2003

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've had this for 10 months now, and it's still going strong.
Running an Intel i5 3470 CPU overclocked to 4.1ghz on a single core and 3.9ghz on all 4. Running the BCLK at 102.5.
Ran Prime95 stable for 13hours 36min.
Also running my 2133Mhz RAM at 2187Mhz. This is all on auto settings.

Cons: None at the moment. Although, installing components on this board made me cringe. It seemed to flex a bit. But all is well anyway.

Other Thoughts: Intel i5 3470 4.1Ghz OC
ASRock Z77 Extreme4
G.Skill Ares 2133mhz 8GB
Samsung SSD 240GB and 120GB.
NZXT HALE82-N 750W PSU
WD Blue 1TB
MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 560Ti

4 out of 5 eggsNeeded BIOS update prevents 5 eggs

Pros: -Easy UEFI to use
-plenty of Sata ports, all which work (120gb SSD boot, 1tb HDD storage)
-Large - no conflict with my gigantic EVGA GTX 780

Cons: Maybe this is just me, but a lot of times when entering or leaving full screen in games, I would Blue Screen. After updating the BIOS, this has completely stopped.

Games this has happened with (most notably)
-War Thunder
-Battlefield 4

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY!

Pros: Um..

Cons: Error code 93 when booting every time! Also reboot. I took apart the whole computer as it suggests to do, and put it back together and it still has this horrible problem! WILL Be switching out for a MSI when I find one that supports DDR3 at 2400 mh ram!

Other Thoughts: ..never again w/ AS Rock.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast Startup
Simple BIOS
Mother board performed very well for the price

Cons: Crashed upon a few months. Very common problem that other consumers are running into of it crashing and not processing. If you do get this motherboard be aware of the risk you take. Mother board was not starting up, found out it was a problem with processing the ram on the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: It was good, until it went down hill... very disappointed

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please trouble shoot the system.
Load the BIOS default.
Test with single memory module.
Check for CPU is not overheating.

5 out of 5 eggsthe best motherboard I've ever used

Pros: 1) 2 PciE 3.0 with the large space between then
2) Lucid Virtu; I never used this feature so don't know if it's good
or not
3) Connectors for IR remote control
4) Price ($125)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've bought this board because mine old one
broke.It was Gigabyte z68 ud7. I still have good cpu i7 3770k.
And this motherboard is last one you can buy new for 1155 socket.
And I'm glad I bought it.
I have 2 nvidia 560ti cards and on old board they were getting so hot
because they were so close to each other but on this board the space is so
big cards stay around 60 C when playing games
If you still have Cpu for 1155 socket this board is the best
It's got PciE 3.0 so later I can change video card and this Comp
will last me for many more years

5 out of 5 eggsEverything a first-time builder could ask for

Pros: The board is sturdy and versatile, easily connecting to the processor, GTX 670 graphics card, RAM, hard drives, and disk drives bought in the initial build. What's more, modifying and adding to the system was quite simple as well, as a wireless card and SSD were added in the following year.

Though overclocking has not been attempted, the BIOS is simple and understandable, and no issues have been encountered in swiching between multiple hard drives and OSes (Win7 and Ubuntu).

Cons: None to report.

Other Thoughts: The motherboard has served every purpose necessary for a first-time computer builder, and no issues have been found in the two years of its active use.
