5 out of 5 eggsAwesomeness

Pros: Lots of features. Low Price. Good Quality!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is my first product from ASRock and I am very happy with it. Had this board for 2.5 years and it still works great. I don't see how some people get 2 or 3 dead items in a row. They could just have bad luck, but more than likely they are doing something wrong. Sometimes you may get a defective part once in a blue moon but if you order the same item from a respectable company and it ends up being "DOA" more than once, you probably don't know what you are doing and should have a professional install your components. ;)

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME MOBO

Pros: I am truly impressed with this motherboard. It's definitely one of my first picks. Great caps, over clocking works as a charm. SLI ready for NVDA, what more could you want!?

Cons: I wish there was an easier way to do power pin outs.. that is the most meticulous and tedious thing to do.

1 out of 5 eggsOn my 3rd board..

Pros: "Cheap" - but you get what you pay for.

Cons: This is the 3rd board they've sent me that doesn't work. First one had a faulty PCIE slot. RMA'd and received a board with faulty RAM slots. RMA'd yet again, and received another board with bad PCIE slots. Spent A LOT of time troubleshooting this issue, turns out it was the board all along.

Other Thoughts: Never buying ASROCK again. Filed a complaint with BBB, but I'm pretty sure AsRock doesn't care.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
For the RMA mainboards, we always stress test all retuning mainboards to assure working fine before shipped to avoid back and forth shipping.
Please test with another known good PCIE card to check if its resolved.
As always, we appreciate your purchase, honest and constructive reviews are welcome.

2 out of 5 eggsBad USB Ports

Pros: Great when it works.

Cons: After a year and a half my USB ports would randomly quit working during normal computer usage. A reboot would temporarily resolve the problem but it is highly irritating to deal with. As it appears there are many reviews with similar problems, I recommend staying away from purchasing this board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize that you having difficulty with USB ports. Please reconnect the USB devices to assure they are fully contact with the ports.
Check the USB device connector is not losen.

4 out of 5 eggsWent out after two years of light use

Pros: +Easy to use bios, OC support is great.
+Spacious, able to fit a Noctua DH-14 with room for 2 full profile sticks of RAM and 2 low profile.
+USB xfast charge actually works
+Tons of ports for virtually any device, USB3 and eSATA included
+ACHI support was quick and simple
+Mobo temp stays cool throughout. I guess that's a pro?

Cons: +USB controller firmware was 50/50 at best. There are ports on the back (USB 2) that don't work well with some devices. My mouse is intermittently shutting off as I type. Keyboard would get strange signals (random blinking of caps lock).

+PCI ports are going out. Really don't know how to explain this one. I checked with Nvidia to see if my 560ti was going out, they said that if the problem exists during the POST, it's probably the mobo. I've had this for 2 years now, and it's going out now. . .

+Tons of poorly mapped switches and ports. Fan controller ports are sporadically placed throughout the middle of the board.

+Fan controller gives random voltages to the fans. Strange, never seen this before, but my 140 Noctua varies from 140RPM to 1200RPM (tested against all ports). Noctua said it wasn't them.

Other Thoughts: When it works, it's great. Solid BIOS, lots of expandability options, tons of USB ports. I really wish ASRock would service their customers versus the distributor. Their website says that they won't deal with individual buyers. It just sucks that this mobo went out after 2 years. I've never had anything like this happen before.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat board until

Pros: Fast. Nice bios setup.

Cons: USB 3 ports died after 1 year 3 months and took an external hard drive out along with it. Lost a lot of pictures.

Other Thoughts: I'm normally a gigabyte person but thought i would try asrock based on reviews. I'm probably going back to gigabyte.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Love the board. It's nice, neat, does everything I need and even has Crossfire. Love the color scheme too.

Cons: No onboard USB 3.0, I had to buy a card for that.

Other Thoughts: So, I was having some issues with my system and figured I should check the hardware. The CPU cover to keep the chip in place looks like it's been burned. I have pictures of it. I don't know if it's a defective board or what. Also, I found this issue too late. My replacement runs out tomorrow, 6/13/13. :( Sad face.

1 out of 5 eggsoc's well, falls short on everything else.

Pros: oc's really well.

Cons: After a few months. PCI-E slot 1 starts crashing the nvidia driver anytime I have a card in it. Removed SLI, put just one 560 ti Frozn II in primary PCI-E slot and crashing continued, removed and put in secondary PCI-E slot, temps dropped instantly from IDLE 60c to 30c. Left in works fine for another two months.

Two months later, Audio out on front panel stops working, day later, back panel stops working. RMA requires I pay them for shipping and they won't expedite a new Motherboard to me with a hold charge on my CC while I wait like Asus did with my previous builds.

Now I have a board where I have no audio unless I use a secondary audio card or the spdif out. PCI-E in second slot unless I need to actually get in my cmos then I have to either hook up the Intel onboard, or put a card temporary in the PCI-E (1) slot.

Also, NO Hauppage (or any that I have found) Tuner cards will work on this board. I am using the latest beta 2.30a1 version of the BIOS also.

I have tried previous bios reverts and updates, I have tried both realtek reference drivers from different releases I have tried ASrocks (after waiting 3 hours for it to download on a 55mb connection!) driver updates, nothing works.

The cost in time, stress and overall unstable environment makes me suggest a new vendor. At this point I am not in a financial place to replace the board so I use it with crashes, overheating and no audio... next time I won't risk the hassle and just go with a brand who has good Customer Service.

Other Thoughts: if all you need is overclocking and nothing else board is ok.
