3 out of 5 eggswas a good board

Pros: Its a great board when it worked

Cons: I've had it for 3 months everything was great then out of nowhere it just died

Other Thoughts: Atleast it didn't fry my other parts

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Sorry to hear that the mainboard has malfunctioned after 3 months of use which’s due to nature of electronic product, it can happen.
Please trouble shooting the mainboard for below steps with known good components;
Clear the CMOS
Test with single memory module (non-ECC, un-buffered), try with another known good memory if its same issue.
Video card with 6+6 power (if applied)
Power supply with connecting 24 pins + 8 or 4 pins ATX power to the mainboard
Plug the computer case’s power switch to mainboard's front panel power header and try again
If you have any technical questions please contact us at 909-590-8308 or http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp. We can assist you shortly.

4 out of 5 eggsAsrock

Pros: Great board I like the layout which is why I bought the board.
I have it paired with a AMD 8350 I did not have to worry about any upgrades to have it work. The asrock extreme turner application that came with it works great I don't have to go to the bios every time I want to set overclock settings.

Cons: when installing the drivers and other things they did not give me the option to not install some of the software so I ended up wasting time deleting unwanted software. That is why I removed one egg.

Other Thoughts: For ram make sure you change it in the bios it always auto sets it to 1333

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: When it worked

Cons: This board booted right up, it was all downhill from there.
I used the installation disc, which was supposed to allow me to make a raid disc, didn't happen. The drivers did not work, went to Asrock web sight and got them. Would work for a few hours, then suddenly the usb drivers disapeared. No mouse no keyboard, had to cold boot. When I tried to reboot would get strange messages "no operating system installed". I used the windows repair disc and was able to boot. The last time this happened it wouldn't boot no matter what i tried, I cleared the cmos, used the reset button, repair discs boot discs, nothing.
More bad news, Newegg would not RMA, Had to go to Asrock, no refund, only replace. This was my 6th build and this is the worst build experience. The only way I was able to get the Asrock support number was to read the negative reviews, and get the number from the manufactures response.

Other Thoughts: Now the waiting begins, I expect them to send me a refurbed board after I paid good money for a new one. I notice newegg is out of stock of these boards, I wonder if they will be discontinued. However if they make this good, I promise to update my review

Manufacturer Response:

Dear ASRock Customer

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. For the issue, please try with another known good SATA cable and HDD/SSD, other SATA ports to check if the symptom still occurs. If you have any technical questions please contact us at http://www.ASRock.com/support/tsd.asp or 909-590-8308. We can assist you shortly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board!

Pros: This board was great to overclock my FX-8350 which is now running stable @4.7ghz 45c at full load, 1.42 Vcore.

It looks awesome and I love the appeal of the heatsinks and the functionality of them as well, the board hasn't reached over 35c anywhere on it.

This is my first ASRock product and I'm very happy, both with the price and quality!

Cons: No cons yet, maybe just that it is a VERY HEAVY board but that was expected.

Other Thoughts: Definitely a good looking board and plenty of room to run Xfire as well. Abit pricey but you are getting a top end board.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome when it's working

Pros: nice specs gold caps and all these cool features.
read the specs and look good on paper. Cool Bios UEFI.

Cons: It was hard to get this bad boy started. Some was on my part and some was the mobo issues. Bios is a little confusing. Run a little hot compared to GA- UD3 Mobo.

Other Thoughts: Once you get everything setup and fine tuned to match your processor, you'll be amazed.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good..

Pros: Fast!

CPU + Memory detected properly and running at correct speeds without any adjustments accept to enable xmp profile on memory.

Lots of options for overclocking.

Cons: Northbridge heatsink gets in way of full length pcie 1x boards

Motherboard not shipped in static bag but otherwise packaging is great.

The memory clips are not that great.

Other Thoughts: FX-8350 Processor
G.Skill Trident X Series Memory F3-1600C7Q-32GTX

My system was locking up randomly within a hour or so of being on and I could not determine anything was wrong. I decieded to pull the memory and reseat them and this time around the bios showed all 4 sticks but the OS showed only 3 of 4 (?!?!). I reseated the memory yet again and all show up correctly and so far 24+ hrs stable and 0 errors reported by memtest.

Some memory tests (no overclocking):

5 out of 5 eggsVery good board

Pros: Plenty of USB Ports

Cons: The Memory stick clips

Other Thoughts: I couldnt figure out why my computer was acting funny. Took me a day to figure out why it was blue screening and freezing. So i double checked everything and it turns out that one of my memory sticks was not fastened all the way. It would show that I had 8GB of memory but only 5.97 was usable. So I just reseated the memory and voila all better now!! So that is the only gripe that I have is that one of the sides of the memory clips arent actual clips.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good looking board. CPU runs hot at higher voltages under H80 water cooler. Not happy with performance, running 8350. Clocks well, but performance na-da.

Cons: Definately would trade it in for another.............
