5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely the best AM3+ mobo

Pros: I've been running an FX-8350 OC'ed to 4700 MHz. on this mobo for almost 2 years and it's been flawless. Asrock built without a double the finest AM3+ mobo available. I've used all of the top brands including Asus, Gigabyte, etc. and Asrock has done a better job than the rest with a proper 12+2 phase VRM design to properly power the 8-core FX procesors. The large VRM and chipset coolers provide proper cooling for extreme computing. I've run numerous 24+ hour long P95 stress tests with the FX-8350 OC'ed to 4.7 GHz. and zero errors and no VRM circuit overheating like on Gigabyte mobos. THAT IS IMPRESSIVE!

Cons: The "Fatality" gaming B.S. is for kids. Fortunately you can disable that garbage in the BIOS so you really don't need to deal with that stupid marketing garbage for the lamers.

Other Thoughts: It looks like Asrock has discontinued shipment of the 990FX Fatality Pro in the U.S. market replacing it with the Extreme 9. The E9 is a good mobo and doesn't have all the stupid "Fatality" garbage. The Fatality Killer model mobo is not as good as the E9 which has the 12-2 phase VRM design like the Fatality Pro. The Killer is another lamer mobo. It has an 8+2 phase VRM and is not for the more serious overclockers. It would be about like the best Asus or latest updated Gigabyte AM3+ mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsRock solid

Pros: Rock solid - has performed flawlessly since 2012. Even survived the failure of the liquid cooler - which caused the system to overheat and crash. The thermal monitoring built into the MB had it shut down before harm was done.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Great MB at a good price

5 out of 5 eggsFavorite AMD motherboard

Pros: Has withstood 2+ years of daily use, multiple video card configurations, and overclocking of Phenom II and FX processors without issue. Robust construction, chipset runs cool in comparison to other similar AMD boards. Dual NIC, dedicated gaming mouse port, all for a great price. Dr. Debug LED extremely useful for POSTing issues.

Cons: A little finicky with some RAM modules - see my review of G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL for more.

Other Thoughts: Excellent full-featured AM3+ motherboard, possibly the best of its kind. I will be sad when the day comes to change sockets!

5 out of 5 eggsFollow Up Review

Pros: I have built 3 PC's using these Mobos- all using 8350's. I used different video cards and ram so my mileage varied. 2 of the three are still working great as built. 1 failed but I think it was due to a power-line surge. I called the ASRock customer service line, got an RMA, sent the board in and had the replacement in my hand in less than a week. I just wanted to let all the "nay-sayers" know what my experience was- I have been building Pc's with ASRock mobo's for about 8 years now and have been completely satisfied with the quality and the service. I'll keep right on building with them too. Take That Whiners!

Cons: could of used a few more usb ports and fan headers. for some reason speedfan won't read cpu fan speeds That's all. Period.

Other Thoughts: They looked great all my customers are thrilled with both looks and performance

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome board!

Pros: *Color works well with the gold caps.
*Chipset runs cool 35C to 40C.
* The AXTU software is nice but hates my Deathadder (see cons).
*Plenty of USB 3.0's
*Bios is vary simple yo update and navigate.
*Dual Nic's. See other thoughts.
*Overclocks well.

Cons: *The main problem for me is that my Deathadder does not like the AXTU sofware, It will over ride the the Razor software and wont allow you to configure my mouse other then with AXTU, and I feel to much negative acceleration with AXTU then what Im use to.
*Bios will sometimes lock up if the system BSOD's from a bad OC. And wont allow you to set back your saved profile until you reset all settings manually.
*The board seems kinda weird when all 4 dimms are used (see other thoughts).
*Only 6 Sata (but knew that).
*Top PCI-E 1.0 lane is nearly useless with longer cards such like the Asus sound cards because of the NB heatsink in the way.

Other Thoughts: I have had this board since Dec. 4th of 2012 and Im still liking this board a lot. I have only had a few problems with it, which most boards do seem to have their own unique problems anyway.

Dual Nic's are nice for what I use them for, I bridge the Nic 1 to Nic 2 so I can work on clients computers and set up a network to transfer files without using a USB drive or a crossover cable and still having the internet on the clients computer.

When all 4 slots are populated, The system is unstable if the ram is at its stock volts, I tried this with different sets of ram and not only the system was unstable, raising the volts made it worse. I lowered the volts to the ram and it made the system stable. No clue why, but hey, its working.

Mobo: ASRock Fatality 990FC Pro
CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1100T 4.4ghz (3000mhz CPU NB)
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz
Video: 2x HD5850's 1020mhz core 1250mhz mem
PSU: Corsair GS700

Pros: Its a great board when it worked

Cons: I've had it for 3 months everything was great then out of nowhere it just died

Other Thoughts: Atleast it didn't fry my other parts

4 out of 5 eggsAsrock

Pros: Great board I like the layout which is why I bought the board.
I have it paired with a AMD 8350 I did not have to worry about any upgrades to have it work. The asrock extreme turner application that came with it works great I don't have to go to the bios every time I want to set overclock settings.

Cons: when installing the drivers and other things they did not give me the option to not install some of the software so I ended up wasting time deleting unwanted software. That is why I removed one egg.

Other Thoughts: For ram make sure you change it in the bios it always auto sets it to 1333
