5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Board appears to be very well built. Supports up to 125W AM2+ and AM3 processors. Moores Law is a real pain so I love the upgrade paths this board give you.
Has pretty much everything the standard user needs. Integrated video is good enough to run StarCraft 2 on Medium-Low settings. Decent amount of BIOS options. Easy to install and configure.

Cons: This is a mATX board so everything is really close together. I was looking at the ATX version of this board but it got pretty bad reliability reviews. Not sure whats up with that, its the same board just ATX form factor. I purchased tall RAM for this board and ended up having to return the RAM because the heat sink was hitting the top of the RAM. My bad though.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this board to go with an AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE 3.0 Ghz proc. One of the only boards on Newegg that supports that processor...which as most people know is super cheap (look on an unnamed online auction site for this proc since its currently no longer available on Newegg...boooooo!) for its performance. Build brand new system quad core, great perfoming system for only about $400.00. What a deal!!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Great MB! My Asus failed on me after about 3 years and needed a quick cheap repacement. Ordered this one and havent had any problems. Previous reviews had issues with drivers and installation, I had no such issues.

Cons: No option in Bios for auto boot.

2 out of 5 eggsUSB ports won't power external HDs

Pros: Booted. Sound worked under windows 7. Unlocked my Phenom II x3 720 to a Phenom II x4 20 Deneb. Nice overclocking options in the bios and core unlocking options.

Cons: The USB ports would not power external HDs from western digital and seagate. The USB ports on the board did not provide the proper amount of voltage. If you never plan on using high powered usb devices, this board will work well.

Other Thoughts: I bought an ASUS M4A77D in place of this board and it unlocked my processor too and the USB ports work.

5 out of 5 eggsGetting better

Pros: I bought this board from Newegg in July 2009. New bios update v1.6 allows better control of unlocking hidden cores. Bios now gives options under ACC of unlocking cores 0,1,2 and 0,1,3 and all cores. My 550BE fails to boot on all cores due to a bad #2 core. Selecting cores 0,1,3 allows normal boot and operates stable at 3.77ghz as an X3 Rana CPU. Finally got a boost to Win7 WEI to 7.1 from 6.9 (using just 2 cores).

This is a great overclocking board. I use 8gb of OCZ 1066 memory and the board is 100% stable.

Cons: None for the price.

Other Thoughts: Hoping to see a bios update to use the X6 hexacore CPUs. I may take the plunge if they update the bios again. I see the 785s have the update, so the 790s may not be far behind.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't buy

Pros: it eventually does run properly

Cons: At first, every other time I turned on my PC, it would ask me to re-install my OS. I re-installed it and now EVERYTIME I turn on my PC it asks me to reinstall my OS. But instead I have been reseting it and than it'll run correctly.

Other Thoughts: It doesn't seem to be a terrible company, I mean I don't know, but I would suggest not buying it because this has been a big hassle and a waste of money.

5 out of 5 eggsAsrock 790gmh/128m

Pros: can easily locate drivers on the company website

AMD 965 Quad core (125watt) CPU is supported with most recent Bios update!

Cons: none at the moment

Other Thoughts: While the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor is supported, remember to reset your bios BEFORE installing the new cpu.

Until I did this my PC would not even POST.

3 out of 5 eggsok board

Pros: It works and is stable, no bsod or anything wierd. Plugged amd x940be and works great. Running stock speed with undervolt at 1.25v. Overclocked at 3.3 but I dont have a nice cooler so it get way too hot...

Cons: North Bridge gets Very HOT too. Lan works, but gets lost connection frequently. The front audio does have static when moving the mouse around. AHCI doesnt work when I try to install Intel 40gig g2 SSD HD so I have to use IDE mode (Might just be an AMD thing).

Other Thoughts: Overall it works but with some flaws. I'd probably skip this board and try something else. Also this being mATX, I dont have room to add sound card because my gtx260 is too close to the pci. Even if it did, it'd be tight fit and make my video card get hot quickly.
