5 out of 5 eggsGood Mobo

Pros: Great price, easy setup. A good motherboard at a good price.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this motherboard to get my girls computer running. First one was DOA but it happens and the RMA process was quick as always and the new motherboard I received quickly and works great.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after a few hours

Pros: N/A

Cons: got this for a rig for my uncle and it just fried, smoke and all, a capasitor or something. Trouble shooted and everything else in the system is new and working fine. Might be too late for an rma but hopefully biostar will give me a new one or my money back if not, OH WELL. your gambling when it comes to cheap motherboards like this one, for 50 good ones theres a bad one it seems.

3 out of 5 eggsGood board, big pain to setup drivers

Pros: Bolted right into my existing case; no surprises, all the wires from my case had a place to plug in.

Cons: Huge pain to setup the motherboard drivers.

Other Thoughts: 1. Pentium Dual Core E6300 (2.8GHZ/1066MHZ FSB) was not listed as a supported CPU but worked fine.

2. Mobo upgraded existing XP installation (hint: before upgrade, delete the IDE controller driver in device manager, shut down, swap boards, then re-boot in SAFE MODE and install new drivers).

I initially skipped the CD, just downloaded the latest drivers from Biostar's website. Basically none of them worked (except the BIOS upgrade); all were unintuitive to install - few or no prompts. I then used the CD and they worked BETTER, but still not well. Intel video driver would not recognize two monitors, audio didn't work, chipset driver couldn't do standby, etc.

Then I went to Intel's website and downloaded/installed THEIR drivers for the G31 graphics chipset, then the video worked great with both monitors, extended desktop, etc. To get the audio to work, I had to go to Device manager and "update driver" and then magically, it worked like a champ...about 90 minutes later. What a P

4 out of 5 eggsBioStar G31-M7G DVI

Pros: Boots right up. Bios interprets everything and makes all the settings correctly. An excellent value.

Cons: Packed with only one SATA Cable.

Other Thoughts: Replaced my Gigabyte board that died. Does everything the more expensive board does except overclock.
I will buy a BioStar board again.
Runs a 3.2 GHz Pentium D and 2 GB Crucil ram.

5 out of 5 eggsnice and easy

Pros: Good price - easy to install - hit the ground running, Kingston 2GB 240pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800, WD Caviar Blue WD3200AAJS 320GB 7200 SATA, E5300 2.6 GHz 65W Dual- Core, StarTech 6' 20 pin ATX power supply to 24 pin MB adaptor ATX2024MF, 8 year old Compaq case with 300 W pwr supply

Cons: put this micro ATX into an OLD Compaq ATX box - The I/O shield on the back that came with the MB did not align perfectly and needed to be trimmed.

Other Thoughts: If you are rebuilding something OLD with this remember that the motherboard uses a 24 pin power connector and older powersupplies are 20 pin - the adaptor is cheap enoung but if you buy things all at once the shipping is a little cheaper - New egg is great! Things get here so fast. This was a first build for my wife - an IT manager. Her face was all smiles when she saw how fast this new build formatted the drive, loaded windows and came up with no issues. Felt good not to put that box in the land fill.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice!

Pros: Very good bang for the buck! I bought it as a possible base configuration for instructor computers at a tech school. The HDMI and VGA outputs allow the elimination of a video splitter and another cable or two. Performance is quite satisfactory.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsIT WORKS!

Pros: small, inexpensive, works normally, onboard vga is useful, nice to have pciex16 slot for RAID controller...using this in a home server with a Celeron dual 2.2ghz & 2 gig ddr2 5300. seems like its performing well so far (2 weeks). pretty good BIOS for a sub $100 mobo.

Cons: tiny. shitastic pinout diagrams for case USB headers, power switch, no onboard 1394, super stupid audio pinout diagram.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little aging mobo, but be careful of those sata ports

Pros: Cheap
Ultra compact!!!
DVI and D-sub ports on back,
HDA ports on back and headers on mobo
runs pretty cool
lots of options in Bios
runs newest C2D procs and recognizes memory without hitch(almost...)
Sata cable with locking latch on it comes with it
Installed windows 7 on it without having to do anything else but install drivers for 8800 ultra video card
Running with:
Intel Core2Duo E7400 @3.1 GHZ
EVGA 8800 Ultra 768
Seagate 750 GB Sata Drive
Hauppauge WinTV HDTV Card
4 GB Corsair DDR2 PC2 8500
Samsung 22x DVD Burner
Raidmax 2RX-630SS 630 Watt (Semi)modular PS

Cons: DDR2 1066 Memory does not get recognized as anything else but 800 MHZ
2 sata ports are entirely/partially blocked by video card
southbridge Heatsink is obstructed of all air flow by video card and sata cables
Doesn't have Firewire onboard
Bios options have no helpful info regarding their respectful uses or settings
cannot completely disable onboard video, which reserves physical memory regardless of your wishes
does not come with any cables beside a sata/pata cable
driver disc is ancient and doesn't work correctly in windows vista/7

Other Thoughts: Ok first off... I bought this for a HTPC. That being said, I wanted something that was going to have good sound, have a gigabit lan port on it, plenty of usb ports, and be able to accommodate my 8800 ultra(for games of course), and not draw a ton of power(yes I know 8800 ultra?!?)
I opened the box and was pleasantly surprised at how well it appeared this was laid out. After dropping my C2D E7400 and 4 gigs of corsair memory in, I plugged my p/s in along with my flash hard drive and my samsung lcd to it, it booted right up without any setup in bios. I did notice upon bootup that it recognized the processor correctly but was reading my 1066 memory as 800 and also showing only 3.8 gigs of available memory.... Interesting. I went into bios and the only options for memory are your timings and voltage... teh suck!
though I can change the FSB of the processor, this would alter the processor and I am not interested in making it draw more power. All in all, a great mobo oth
