Pros: Has almost everything a regular p55 board has including the performance

Cons: Have to RMA the board as the usb issues relayed in my previous review appear to be related to the controller being bad. DFI support is somewhat slow. Not able to get into the BIOS without PS/2 keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I suspect the issues I have faced with the usb wireless adapters (going on 5 different ones that did not work) and the usb keyboard are related to some sort of usb controller issue. I have built nearly 40 computers myself so I know what I am talking about. I will write another review when I get the replacement to update people. I am also not the only reviewer who has had the usb keyboard issue.

Pros: got it up and running on water no prob.......w/i7 860 and 4 gig of 2000mhz but runs at 1500 till i can reflash this and clock this puppy

Cons: bios should have stayed to be able to oc it,if i burned it out id replace it,i need 4.0 lol

Other Thoughts: last reviewers claimed needing a ps2 for bios...thats crazy,mine worked fine right out of the bios,then i updated the bios,and yes i build many h20 rigs...

Pros: All the appeal of a full size p55 mobo, but smaller. Takes i7 CPUs and 1600 ram. 3 x sata connectors.

Cons: As stated by another reviewer you cannot get into BIOS with a standard USB keyboard, but need a PS/2 one. DFI customer service is lacking in every way. The guy I called on the phone knew significantly less than I did and acted like the keyboard issue would be fixed by installing the OS. BIOS needed to be updated, but was easy to do. Wireless usb adapters do not work with this board for me. Not sure why and it may be some hiddent bios setting or bad board or other component, but when installed it recognizes it and then sits and trys to install the driver and sits and sits and sits. When the adapter is removed then it says the driver has installed only to not work when plugged back in.

Other Thoughts: I may RMA this board as my goal is to have this as a LAN rig and I need to be able to use a wireless usb adapter. I probably should have gotten the ZOTAC mobo, but the P55 chipset has better performance. The computer works flawlessly when plugged in via LAN, and I have yet to set the RAM timings or try to overclock. I took one egg for really poor customer service, but as I have not completed troublshooting the issue with the adapter and the BIOS is so poorly implemented I am going to wait to see if their email support can help or if some other hardware issue is to blame. I will review again if/when it is resolved or if it is not resolved.

Pros: It lets me put a core i7 into a mini-itx case.

Cons: The manual doesn't explain the bios settings.
It won't let my USB keyboard get into the bios. I have to plug in a PS2 keyboard to do that.
The tweaking software requires .net 2.0, and I can't find a way to get it on Windows 7 64-bit.
I wish it had a firewire port in the back.
It only has 3 SATA ports.

mild overclock to 3.5GHz

I built this system to be a HTPC with capable gaming at 1920x1080. Also needed it to have as low as possible current draw.. Everything seems to work fine once I got around the bios issues.. I found that my settings wouldn't save if I hit escape and save "OK".. but it seems to save when i hit F10 before exiting..The bios seemed to want to choose some random settings for me as well at times so make sure you set everything and hit F10... I eventially managed to get the settings i wanted in there.. the system is stable and I'm happy I don't have to mess with the worst bios known to man!

Pros: - P55 in an ITX form factor
- Good board layout
- Power consumption is as low any mATX board out there

Cons: - The English is poor in the BIOS and manual
- The manual doesn't do a good job of explaining the BIOS functionality
- The BIOS is very buggy

Other Thoughts: I'm running this board with a Core i5 750. My main complaint is the BIOS. The first time I change from IDE to AHCI, I get gibberish on the top of my screen when it POSTs, it reboots, and all settings are lost. It usually sticks the second or third time.

Also, if I change settings in some combinations (ie. Enable SpeedStep, Enable Turbo Boost, Enable C-State), when it POSTs again, it just decides to overclock my processor! It set the base voltage to 1.25V and BCLK to 166, putting the processor at 3.33GHz. I had some major heat/power issues as a result. It also messed up my DRAM settings. It wouldn't let me change the BCLK and I couldn't fix some of the DRAM settings, so I had to reset the CMOS every time this happened. Not cool.

Since this board is more or less one-of-a-kind, I can't knock it too much. When the BIOS settings are right, it runs okay. I've got a powerhouse of a machine inside a tiny case. I don't know if I'll buy from DFI again though.

Pros: This is a nice little board for lan parties and
embedded solutions requiring fast but small foot print
in which has been very stable
and was impressed that it contained Raid capabilties

Cons: This board has low to moderate overclocking capabilities
after bios update runs stable on any allowable settings.
Without the bios update bios could put the
motherboard at dangerous levels.
No heatsinks on the motherboards PWMs which would
cause failure during overclocking with old bios
to such a point the solder could melt off of the PWMs

Other Thoughts: 1st thing after getting this board check bios make sure you are not overclocking cpu and voltages then do a bios update and then play with the bios to your hearts extent.
You will not have the overclock headroom that of many
other boards have with the lack of heatsinks on the PWMs but you will gain a moderate amount of overclocking.

For the size of this board with the Thermaltake's Mini ITX case and 9800 GT it makes a very nice portable machine with good performance.

I also have one of these with a ATI 5850 in a modified ITX silverstone case with a Athena Power 400w PS
which also runs very excellent.

I have 5 of these boards 1 direct from NewEgg and all are still working perfectly fine.

Pros: Only 1156 p55 so far, so best in its class.

Cons: 1st board lasted about 6 hours, upon restart a small flash and smoke emitted. 2nd board has a month on it now maybe 20 hours of use total in an HTPC silverstone case.

Other Thoughts: My cpu runs hot as well (i7 860 with a Corsair H50). I'm going to look into the voltages as suggested. With prime95 set to run across 8 workers it locks up at 60c + rapidly. Runs much hotter than my i7 920 with the same cooler.

Other Thoughts: Just wanted to reach out to Jory, who commented on the overheating problems with an i7 860:

I have the same configuration and components as you mention (including the same CPU cooler) and I DO overclock. I noticed in my overclocking attempts that when I would specify any setting that would cause the board to not POST (i.e. pushed it too far), the board automatically defaults back to the stock BIOS settings so that it will post again.

When it does this, it (for some unexplained reason) sets the CPU voltage at a specific (VERY HIGH) voltage, instead of defaulting back to "Auto"

I checked this several times to make sure it wasn't me (I rarely play with voltages) and my board ALWAYS defaulted back to a VERY HIGH specific voltage (something like 1.35v), instead of "Auto", which was causing 60-70 degC idle temps at the stock settings.

Once I figured this out and reset it to "Auto", the problem was solved and mine idles now around 30 degC.
