1 out of 5 eggsNo longer worth the headache

Pros: None. When a motherboard is unstable it's worthless.

Cons: Stability issues. It locked up on me playing Netflix movies, and when I gave this to my mom it would lock up when she was playing Bejeweled 2. I went through the usual troubleshooting, but no permanent fix found.

Other Thoughts: After dealing with this motherboard, various defects on a PA248Q monitor I bought, and having a USB port die on an 3 month old ASUS laptop I am now done with ASUS. Add to that the run-a-round I was getting trying to RMA my monitor. They won that round as I finally gave up. Thankfully the retailer I bought this from took back the 90 day old monitor minus a restocking fee.

5 out of 5 eggsGood so far. Hit or miss bios.

Pros: Very nice motherboard although it doesnt have a header for usb 3.0 but thats fine. Board lay out is good for the case i used it in and it took my 6800k without any problems. Windows 8.1 installed fine and everything. Boots very fast.

Cons: Bios is really hit or miss. Sometimes it goes to it othertimes you hit f2 and it stays on a black screen so you have to restart. Doesn't bother me since i only needed to get in 1 time to change the ram speed

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board!

Pros: Great board with fun BOIS. I bought it because of the HDMI port and 4 memory slots but the GPU boost is also quite nice.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsI love ASUS, Product is Good but it's a Defective Design,

Pros: This is a nice board with alot of features for the price, sadly it's a defective design and I will let you know why.

Cons: The issue with this board Freezing for many people as I have researched on the net at places like Tom's Hardware and what not is that this nice new motherboard had stability issues from even the early BIOS updates. While this is not extremely uncommon here's something that is. The motherboard while supporting USB 3.0 will cause hangs, freezes, and a can of worms worth of problems for the unwary PC enthusiast. I have after much trial and error been FORCED TO DISABLE USB 3.0 ON MY BRAND NEW MOTHERBOARD IN ORDER TO GET IT TO WORK! Honestly, I've done the BIOS updates, gone though hell and back trying different components, memory, hard drives, power supplies, cooling setups, and TWO DIFFERENT APU'S. It's all down to the defective motherboard design and rushed manufacture. I have spent thousands on ASUS merchandise but this time was a let down and I am deeply Dissapointed. I've contacted support and got nothing useful at all. I think I may be looking to spend my money elsewhere in the future, perhaps MSI? Sigh...

1 out of 5 eggsASUS - Don't trust this brand

Pros: 1. It looks nice.
2. Features sound nice

Cons: It doesn't work. Asus support says its my end (saying my Ram isn't supported on their list). IF you check their list it only supports 8 models of Ram... something that is not listed here on the product. Which makes no sense, right? I'm sure its just non-sense so Asus doesn't have to refund people money. Its sad, really bad company here.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy Asus.

5 out of 5 eggsA great motherboard

Pros: This is a high quality board with tons of great features. It supports the majority of RAM modules and the BIOS is pretty epic to say the least. I've found the MemOK button to be quite helpful also when testing bad memory.

Cons: The only issue I've found is the lack of Linux sound drivers. I can play sound just fine through the audio jacks, but it won't play out of the HDMI port.

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the money

Pros: Solid, stable board for someone building a general purpose computer. Running 24/7 without hiccup since purchase.

This board has all video connections in their own housing, many boards in this price range do not.

Cons: I/O backplate gave me grief, ended up bending the tangs between the VGA and DVI ports straight out in order to get the board mounted in the backplate.
VGA connector flexes more than I would like.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend this board for A!0 cpus even though Asus website states it will run them. It only has a 4 pin CPU power connector. You should buy a board with an 8 pin connector, if running a K series Trinity or the 65 watt A 10, to ensure enough power to the cores.

4 out of 5 eggsstability issues fixed

Pros: BIOS GUI makes flexible configuration easy. BIOS can be updated from a USB drive (no operating system).
Supports UEFI secure boot and legacy modes.

Cons: The "auto" mode for memory speeds isn't perfect. Some days it was finding the right speed and everything was solid. Others, it was locking up. I ended up locking the memory speed manually, then it was stable.
It's not easy to switch from "auto" CPU speed to a fixed speed. In Auto, it shows the final clock, but the manual settings are for a base clock and multiplier. It's not clear what you need to match what it was finding in "auto".

Other Thoughts: I wrote the "stability issues" review and can't figure out how to edit it. So I wrote a new one.

2 out of 5 eggsStability issues

Pros: Nice BIOS configuration. Can flash BIOS directly from a USB drive.

Cons: I'm having stability issues with the 5302 BIOS (2/4/2013). One day its flawless, the next it's locking up hard every hour.

Other Thoughts: CPU A6-5400K (not overclocked). Memory Crucial Ballistix 8GB DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT2KIT4G3D1869DT1TX0, running at 1333Mhz. BIOS shows cool temperatures. Ubuntu Linux 12.04 64bit.
