1 out of 5 eggsNothing but nothing

Pros: Look Great.

Cons: Before this MB I have never had problems with ASUS.
First sound was intermittent. After 3 weeks of messing with it reinstalled Win 7 and 8 many times got an RMA. Waited two weeks to get it back. Same MB. Started freezing. Replaced everything with known good hardware. No solution but another two weeks gone. Got an RMA and now I am waiting, again. Have been without a computer for 6 weeks. Hope it works this time. The Asus mb I was replacing laster 12 years. Hope this one does too. Time will tell.

I want a MB that works!

Other Thoughts: Technical support has been great.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Looks absolutely beautiful.
Supports 2400 Ram. (never gotten it to run it that high)
The motherboard for extreme overclocking.
have my FX-8350 running at 5.0 on it I've gotten it to 5.3 but runs bit hot for my comfort The UEFI gives you all the options you need to configure any overclocking

Cons: Doesn't have $80 more product than the sabertooth.

Other Thoughts: Been running my 8350 in this for 3 years at 5.0 no problems yet...
I've put this in quite a few customers builds as well no problems there either

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Power delivery is the reason I picked this thing up and the fact that it is ASUS.
Power Delivery is important to me .. I like to overclock and if using an AMD product that's probably what you are going to be doing.

Cons: none noted

Other Thoughts: Power stability is important to me specifically since I like to overclock everything I have.
ASUS products usually have better if not the best power delivery among it's competitors.
I have my AMD 9590 running @ 5.4ghz with 1.42v and stable, and the reason for picking this board is, this is the one that was recommended for the VRM.

4 out of 5 eggsfor experience overlockers, not for beginners

Pros: This board has all the features any person would need to run a stable OC configuration. Extreme tweaker, and all the voltages you are able to configure make this board one of the best for overclocking. You can run up to DDR3-2166 with the right settings and the right RAM. Currently have my CPU (FX-6300) running at 5.2 GHz. That is with custom water-cooled loop.

Cons: This board will give you headaches. The vast amount of settings will cause anyone to freak out if they are not getting it to boot up or BSOD. It has to do with settings, most of the time the voltages. The Vdroop is bad. Off by. Up to 1 volt. Getting it to boot up with default setting will not work. Most machines I have built for customers that wanted this board but didn't want it Overclocked had more problems then when it is being Overclocked.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, board with give you headaches, even when you are experienced with overclocking. That being said it is not the boards fault for you getting an FF code. I have read to many reviews where people just connect everything and just press power and it not working. This board isn't meant for that. It is designed to be pushed. If you are going to pursue this board, just keep in mind that you will have to tweak the board to just get it going at default speeds. That being said this is one of the best boards you can buy. It will out perform pretty much any other motherboard on the market, even most Intel motherboard, just keep in mind that you will have to tweak it to get it to work. Best of luck and keep it cool.

2 out of 5 eggsRMA

Pros: This motherboard packs tons of features and it generally laid out well. The construction is sound and the board is aesthetically pleasing also.

Cons: After installing a fresh copy of Win7 Ult onto my SSD, I promptly started experiencing issues with this mobo. It would randomly cut out the power completely, no matter the load or length of operation; sometimes I'd be at the Windows login screen while other times I'd be in the middle of driver/windows updates installations.

My PSU is a perfectly functional 750w and I ran memtest86 to eliminate my RAM as the possible culprit. I also would like to mention that the memtest86 took ~9hrs so the power issue would have been made apparent through this process, should that been the cause. I freshly installed Win7 Ult, thinking that maybe my OS isntallation files were corrupt or something, but that also failed to remedy the issue. There are no heat issues either; I am left to believe the motherboard is defective and I have started the RMA process.

Other Thoughts: While looking through my event viewer, I noticed there were errors pertaining to asmedia drivers. I entered the BIOS in hopes that toggling the asmedia options would solve my issue, but to no avail.

I noticed something regarding the layout of the mobo; With my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo heatsink mounted over my CPU, the first RAM slot closest to the CPU is nearly unusable. I'm not sure I could fit a Gskill Trident X stick there, although these RAM sticks have unusually tall heatsink fins; shorter sticks would probably be fine. Alternatively, you may just need to unmount the CPU cooler and then seat the RAM stick before remounting the CPU cooler - just something to nitpick about.

5 out of 5 eggs11 - 2012

Pros: This M/B has ran rock solid since 11 - 2012 - the only thing replaced is several fans wore out - 1 hard drive and a hour meter. Fired up perfectly with 32 gigs of ram 5 hard drives - will be changing to X99 or better for my next build that's a AMD issue not a Asus issue - these boards work period,

Cons: Was expensive years ago - now inexpensive due to AMD stagnation - got clogged with dust and crud used a shop vac to blow the dust out last year made a mess. Bought a hour meter it died at 40000 hours the system is still going - the hour meter cost me over 20 bucks annoying..

Other Thoughts: This M/B has been used/abused kept going - time is the best test and this M/B has many thousands of hours of flawless functioning. ROG boards are the best hands down.

1 out of 5 eggsNo RAID

Pros: fast, stable

Cons: I updated the BIOS, updated the AMD chip drivers and the Window systems would not see the BIOS created RADI1 disk.

Tried Windows 7, 8 and 10 install disks.

The Manuals are inaccurate and out of date.

UBUNTU installed to the RAID but would not boot

Other Thoughts: if you don;t need RAID it is a good board

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID!!!

Pros: It's nice to look at and wen it works, it works.

Cons: I've owned this motherboard about a year and a half. It was nothing but headaches. Most of the time it'd be the dreaded FF code. eliminated power supply ram etc., and finally had everything working. I was getting ready for Witcher 3, started playing Dragon Age - Inquisition last night, no issues. Tried turning te computer on today (5/8/15), and the dreaded FF code as returned. These boards have always had quality and durability issue's. Normally I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ASUS products, however, this has been the most frustrating, inconsistent product, and now have a difficulty recommending or buying ASUS products going forward.

Other Thoughts: System (currently dead)
AMD FX9590
G.Skill Trident 16gb 2400mhz
XFX 290X 8Gb
Samsung 850 EVO
2x WD 600 Velociraptors
OCZ 1000W
Crosshair V Formula Z (NEVER AGAIN WASTE OF $230!!!
