2 out of 5 eggsRisky buy

Pros: Easy to set up, starts up fast and works great until it quits. I have had two of these Crosshair formula boards and both have failed.

Cons: The first Crossfire board failed after 2 years and the 2nd and last after 3 months. The LAN port fails and nothing I can do will get in on line again. That was on two LAN failures on two Crossfire boards. I did not complain on the first, but this is too much to bear.
I am done with the Crossfire series and may even drop ASUS boards from my line. I have had more than 5 ASUS boards and all were great until this Crossfire series.

5 out of 5 eggsStable, Quality, and Feature rich.

Pros: Very overclocking friendly with 8+2 VRM design and allot of passive cooling onboard. My FX-8350 is hitting 4.9Ghz with no problems and more head room is left. This motherboard is known to scale into the 5.5Ghz range with the right setup. Has an intel Gigabit LOM so connectivity is not a problem and it also has wireless for the compromisers. Noctua NH-D15 clears with room to spare. Fastest booting motherboard I have dealt with (minimal UEFI tweaking required). Onboard power/reset switches for ease of bench testing.

Cons: Price is high but you have to pay to play.

Other Thoughts: Lots of cables and accessories.

3 out of 5 eggsFinally!

Pros: When the board works, it's flawless! Looks great in my Red and Black theme system. Sisoft Sandra ranks my PC greater than 95% of the results, I'll take that. No need for crossfire cable.

Cons: 1) First MB had a defective A2 DIMM Slot. I run 4x4GB so that was an issue, only recognized 8GB. RMA'd
2) Second MB had defective PCIe Slots, I tried both of my R9 290's and an R9 280 (NIB) and none could POST
3) Third Motherboard finally worked. Didn't have a desktop for a month....smh
4) I have 2 R9 290's from PowerColor and they take up the ENTIRE bottom half of the board. Had to remove all USB headers to fit. Barely fit the I/O case headers.
I don't like the location of the 4-pin Molex plug for extra GPU power. Have to hook that up before CPU cooler and GPU are installed. PITA. DIMMS slots are too close to the CPU mount, IMO. H80i tubes push against first DIMM slot, makes me nervous.

Other Thoughts: Coolermaster HAF 932
AMD FX9590
Crosshair V Formula-Z
H80i
EVGA 1300W G2
Corsair Dominator 4x4GB
PowerColor R9 290 x2
Samsung 850 Evo 240GB
Mushkin Cronos 240GB
WD Black 1TB
Samsung 500GB EXT HDD
Asus Blu-ray/DVD

I upgraded from the Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 to the Crosshair V Formula-Z and I didn't see much, if any, gains on benchmarks. It just matches my system theme better.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks great, will be able to support the components I am adding including a R9 290x, Corsair 2400 cas 10 16G, and FX9590.

Cons: Only two internal USB headers! This is really unacceptable for me. I have two expansions on the front of my case that requires them as well as a few Corsair Link stuff. I will have to make some choices as to what to plug in.. I could use a second USB 3.0 as well, but it is a slightly older board.

Other Thoughts: Best looking FX9590 board hands down, solid looking heat sinks and the "red line" is a really nice touch. I won't be using the onboard audio, but it looks more substantial than standard.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: VERY Easy install
Bios has an EZ mode, or advanced
Bios has a Great GUI
the whole board stays cool as well
The lil things are sweet as well, fast boot switch and etc

Cons: the I/O panel was alil fussy with my storm stryker cool master tower but I got it to work

Other Thoughts: I will never buy anything but asus boards again. It is made for gamers and they mean it!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Awesome Board, lots of real estate, great features

Cons: First Board required RMA, DRAM slots were not recognizing RAM from the QVL

Other Thoughts: Wish I didn't lose the time it took to call asus prior to rmaing the board, but asus was pretty helpful.

5 out of 5 eggsGot more than I asked for

Pros: I've had this motherboard for several months. It is my first ROG product, and I only wish I could give this product a higher rating.
The integrated DAC and its software are much better than I would have expected. All of the overclocking utilities are simple and user friendly. The BIOS is awesome, and overclocking your CPU feels like something that is just supposed to happen in nature. It is aesthetically outstanding in every way. As long as I have had this motherboard, I have done nothing but recommend it to AMD users everywhere, as I have fallen in love with it.

Cons: I wish it came with a better badge for my case. Instead, I have a little sticker for my keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I hope all of your products are this awesome.

2 out of 5 eggsI'd like to leave a positive review but...

Pros: Aesthetically pleasing, good feature set

Cons: About three days after I install the motherboard into my PC case I started having problems now my setup is a GTX 970 graphics card this motherboard NZXT 440 silenced optimized case 16 gigabytes of Dominator 1866 RAM and an Amd 8350.the problems I'm having are consistent blue screens of death when I put my graphics card in the first PCI Express slot when I move it down one I have no blue screens of death but when I go into my bios and read that as a x8 pic speed. which in turn give me noticbly worse performance in my games. I very much so want to get this board a good review but the simple fact that a PCI Express slot is almost completely unusable which means I can no longer in the future SLI. since my rma on newegg is no longer available to me hopefully you asus will see this review and contact me I will continue trying to get in contact with Asus through your website since it is still under warrenty
