1 out of 5 eggsBoard won't work

Pros: Nicely laid out board, good heat sinks on North/South bridge chips and easy to install CPU slot. Flashback bios feature is a great plus.

Cons: set up build in mid tower case, tried to boot but got red CPU LED light on first boot attempt and no boot screen or signal from computer to monitor. Changed video card, same problem, changed ram, same problem. reseated CPU, new silver heat compound, same problem. Have been in contact with Asus personnel, and decided to flash bios using their Flashback system, which worked very well with standby power only. tried to boot up and same problem as before, RED CPU LED lights, no signal to monitor, and no boot screen as a result.

4 out of 5 eggsgood board

Pros: Does anything and everything I want it to, also supports sli

Cons: after 6 months of use, the onboard sound has died, contacted Asus and they want me to RMA it. After reading several reviews about their RMA's I am not sure I want to take that risk. It would be easier to buy a sound card and be done with the issue

Other Thoughts: overall I like the board it does what I need, I am disappointed that the sound would die after such a short time.

3 out of 5 eggsFailed after six months

Pros: Works Well with the FX 8350 CPU, Very fast

Cons: Board Failed after 6 months. When initially installed in my system there were several time when the computer did not boot correctly. The gpu fan ran fast and made a lot of noise. I could shut down and restart and the system booted correctly. After 6 months the screen went blank and started to reboot then failed. Attempts to restart failed. Again the GPU fan ran fast.

Other Thoughts: I've been building computers since the early 1990s and this is the first mb that has failed. I've used Asus products many times and have always thought highly of their product. I'll send this board back for repair or replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: Very nice features. Love the BIOS. very easy to use. Overclocks my AMD FX -4300 from 3.8 GHz to 4.1 Ghz with just the click of a button. Even takes RAM that isnt in the compatibility list, although it is under-clocked from 1600 to 1333

Cons: seems to slow my memory down slightly but the memory isnt on the compatibility list so that may be the problem.

5 out of 5 eggsyes pls

Pros: large array of overclocking settings
quick boot time

Cons: pcie @ 8x, 8x (not a huge downside)
SLI 2x pcie slot placement too low.
I only have 2 gtx 760's and an asus xonar dx sound card plugged in and it barely fit right at the bottom, nearly touching my PSU.

Other Thoughts: I ended up buying with this board after testing the gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 rev 4 and having a few very annoying issues including POST loops, random freezes, LAN disconnects, poor oc-ability, wake from usb input not working consistently. I hated that gigabyte board and im glad I gave this asus board a chance, worth every penny.

1 out of 5 eggsDied After 7 Months

Pros: When I initially purchased the board, it ran quite well. I was pleased with its performance.

Cons: After 6 months of use I began to have problems booting. The video card fan raced and the machine seemed to get stuck at the CPU when trying to post, according the on-board LED. Sometimes I could reboot right away without a problem, other times it would do this time after time.

I replaced the power supply, tried a new switch, tried a different video card, updated the BIOS, drained it completely and reset everything to default in the BIOS, and even resat the CPU and heat sink. The behavior persisted.

Now, such is life. Parts fail. It would have been ok if I had been sent a replacement motherboard. However, I will probably not buy another ASUS product again after this experience.

First phone call with someone from overseas resulted in some troubleshooting, and a need to call back after I tried removing the CMOS and leeting it sit for 20 minutes. I had to call back, and even though they had an incident number, I had to describe everything all over again. We finally initiated an RMA. I never received an e-mail with 24 hours as told. Called back to speak to a new overseas rep. I was told there was a system error. The weekend passed before I finally got the RMA e-mail after having to contact them again via chat support.

I had to pay for shipping even though I had a faulty product. UPS confirmed delivery on Thursday, but the status wasn't not updated until the following Tuesday. All it said was "completed." I inquired via another chat session as to what was done. I was told an IC chip was replaced. I received the board 2 days later with no documentation of what repair was done. I assume the chat support tech was correct in that something was replaced. I then rebuilt my PC. I booted once successfully and then had the exact same behavior. I have my doubts that any part was replaced, or if it was, it was done in haste because it did not fix the problem.

I called the following day, Thursday, and actually spoke with someone from the US. He initiated the process of sending a replacement. I was told to wait up to 3 business days for an e-mail just to tell me if a replacement is available.

I'm still waiting on that e-mail. The saga continues. Even if I get a replacement, it has been such a huge hassle. I will avoid ASUS because of poor services.

I think they expanded into the PC and tablet market and got too big for themselves. All of their customer service seems to be outsourced minus one person I actually spoke to.

When rating a product, I'm rating the entire experience. If it didn't fail, it would be 4 stars. If it had failed as it did because of a fluke, and was fixed right away, it would be 3 stars. I can't justify anything above 1 star because it doesn't work after 6 months of use and 2 weeks of dealing with their customer service there is no solution.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: This board is a very good deal for the money. Having USB 3.0 front panel option is nice, SLI ready, supports modern AMD CPU's, utility suite was nice as well, 6gb/s SATA. Considering I bought it 2 years ago when it was already in production for quite some time it still fits my needs. It also has an older PCI port for those peripherals that still work well, which you want to keep. Bought this board refurbished from another site that don't exist anymore, with that in mind considering it's longevity for me I'd say that is a pro as well.

Combined it with a GTX 560 Ti, 8 gb Crucial Ballistx ram, and a AMD FX 6200 Zambezi 3.8 ghz CPU. So far it runs every game I have thrown at it on Ultra settings (e.g Far Cry 3, Skyrim, The Witcher 2).

Cons: Had issues running two GTX 560 Ti's in SLI (bought on E*bay). Not sure if it was the board, cards, or drivers. Because I'm not 100% sure if it was the board that was having issues I'm not going to take off an egg.

Other Thoughts: May have issues with SLI, but since I only plan on running one card. Survived a lightning storm without blowing up lol. For the price I'd say get one before they are gone!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: Very stable motherboard. Very nice looking with the heat-pipes, etc. Has USB 3.0 onboard and E-SATA. UEFI BIOS is really neat and nice graphical mouse supported interface.
Fast and easy to overclock.

Cons: Memory hold down tabs on one side of memory slots was fused to slot and would not open. Broke two tabs trying to get them open. Really had to work to get memory in and recognized.

Other Thoughts: One egg shy of 5, due to memory slot issue.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great mobo for the price. I'm a first time builder and this was a great buy. The UEFI bios is very easy to use even for a beginner like myself. Just an overall great mobo.

Cons: Could of had more fan headers

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality Motherboard

Pros: > Well built and sturdy.
> Lots of USB 2.0 & 3.0 ports.
> Numerous onboard LEDs
> UEFI Bios is amazing. So easy to use.
> Board overclocks well. My FX-8320 is @ 4.2 GHz with 1.35 volts.
> Bios flashing is very easy. Took me less than 10 minutes to update to the latest bios.

Cons: None really. If I had to complain I would say the price is high, but so is the quality. You get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I originally could not get the USB 3.0 header ports to work on my PC case but after replugging in the connector everything worked fine.

This board is the center of my new gaming PC.
