1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY ANYTHING ASUS AGAIN!

Pros: Future rich

Cons: - Starting having issues shortly.
- ASUS support is a pain in the *** to work with and their policies suck!

Other Thoughts: After some time this motherboard started having issue with initial boot as it will only power on after disconnecting the power supply and waiting for few minutes. I tried almost everything: replaced CPU, RAM, PSU and nothing helped.
As I'm located in currently Israel I had to ship the motherboard to ASUS RMA center in USA. That costs about $60. After about 3 weeks I received the same motherboard with the same exact issue.
Now the motherboard's DRAM_LED would stay solid red and the motherboard won't POST at all. I've contacted ASUS and they asked me simply to reship the motherboard to them (and pay another $60 to cover shipping to and from the USA). When I told them that I've already sent it once and covered shipping costs both ways and they returned it unfixed the representative told me that nothing can be done and closed the chat. As the motherboard doesn't even worth $120 these days I chose not to send the MB.
Think twice before buying anything ASUS! I have another 3 motherboard (from Gigabyte) and they've never had any issues. My other ASUS component is ASUS R9 280X GPU which is also having issues with artifacting during gaming. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ASUS! Their products quality isn't that good and their customer support is a pain in the *** to work with.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for sharing your ASUS experience. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this issue has caused. If you’re having issues getting your system to POST to BIOS, double check each cable on the motherboard including your 24pin/8pin power plug connectors. Clear CMOS. Use one memory module only. Remove GPU and other devices from board. Just leave the CPU and plug you monitor into the motherboard directly to check for POST. Once the system POSTs, proceed with a firmware update for the latest microcode for your CPU. For more information for the UEFI version (0910) you need for your CPU please visit our ASUS Online Help Desk: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P8Z77V_LE_PLUS/HelpDesk_Download/. Download the BIOS and extract the file to a fat formatted usb stick. Then navigate in bios to the tools menu and use the EZflash utility to do the flash. Let your system update the firmware as needed. Do not power down even if your system sits with a blank screen for 10 minutes or so. If there is no POST following this process, then it would be best for you to provide us with your full list of parts for further analysis on QVL parts. If you need information on any technical related questions, feel free to contact me @cl-nestor@asus.com.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Best Regards,
-Nestor

5 out of 5 eggsStill kicking it

Pros: Used this for my first build, incredibly smooth. what else can i say, its awesome

Cons: Triple-SLI (while i never planned on using it) would prove to be difficult as putting a GPU in third PCI slot would smush the header pins for the USB and power button etc connectors, but is perfect for any accessory card that doesn't take up more than one slot

Other Thoughts: This was my fault but i shorted out one of the USB ports by sticking a live audio plug into the usb port on accident, which is okay cause theres a few more USB headers. Zero problems. Great board.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst product I've ever bought!!!

Pros: Only pro is that it worked well for 6 months.

Cons: After 6 months. It just wouldn't work. RMA and still didn't work. I bought a new motherboard from another company. Hooked up everything the same way and has worked ever since. I gave this motherboard away hoping someone else could get it running. They had it running for two days and then stopped working for them too. I'm never buying a ASUS product again. Waste of money and time.

1 out of 5 eggsCan't recommend

Pros: Worked as intended for a while.

Cons: Motherboard started acting up after roughly 6 months. Double booting and would not run RAM sticks at full speed.

Contacted ASUS for RMA. I payed for shipping, and got it back about 2 weeks later, still having the same problems. Nothing was fixed. Never buying ASUS again.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I am sorry you are having issues with the motherboard and you had to RMA the unit. As a reminder, if your RAM is not listed on the Qualified Venders List, the RAM may not work and/or may not post with the proper specifications. That said, please contact me through email where we can discuss this case further. Ref: 3297864

2 out of 5 eggsA few problems

Pros: Good price, installed easily

Cons: MUST go to their website for memory compatibility,
Motherboard sensors failed within 6 months.

Other Thoughts: The specs said DDR3 1600 was acceptable for the motherbaord. And it is. As long as you don't try to put in more than 8 GB. Above that, and you get crashes.
Had this 6 months, don't overclock. My thermal sensor for the board is registering -76.0 F. Still waiting on the RMA from ASUS.
Their tech support went something along these lines:
Me: Sensor reading -76.0
ASUS: Sounds like the sensor is bad.
Me: And?
ASUS: The sensor is bad.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on the P8Z77-V PLUS motherboard.

I am sorry the customer service you experienced was not ideal. Moreover, it is unfortunate your motherboard failed in such a short time of having the board. You mentioned that you have set up a RMA previously. If you have any questions or would like an update on your RMA, please let me know through email, and I will be happy to help.

Regards,

Mark

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME BOARD!!!

Pros: Higher scores than my MSI board & everything works perfect. Love the setup. When it comes to my equipment everything has to be just perfect and that is exactly what this board is. In BIOS the only thing I had to do was set my memory freq to 1600. I tried to use the XMP setting and my Windows 8 index was 7.8 for memory so was CPU. When I loaded setup defaults and just changed the Mem freq to 1600 and left everything else to default my Mem went up to 7.9 and my CPU 7.9 also. I love the fact that all I have to do is change mem freq and leave everything else alone. Remember that Windows 8 Pro gives higer CPU score then Windows 7 pro. I am getting ready to install Windows 7 Pro on this and I am almost positive my CPU score will be a 7.6 or 7.7. I am using the Ivy Bridge 3570K and it is not overclocked. Everything in BIOS has been reset to default except the Memory freq to 1600 because I have Corsair Vengeance 1600 memory. This board is perfect and stable, I will always buy ASUS from this day forward. I hope you get this board and enjoy it as much as I will.

Cons: NONE!!!

Other Thoughts: Buy this board, it rocks. Thank you ASUS!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsSturdy with a friendly interface.

Pros: -The BIOS menus are very easy to navigate, which is a godsend for me considering this is my first build
-Very sturdy
-I like the color scheme :P

Cons: -First one was DOA
-On boot-up there's always a "CPU Fan" error. All you have to do is set the bios to ignore the CPU fan altogether and it goes away.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't too bummed-out about the first one being broken considering I hadn't yet received the other parts for my build.

Very happy with it overall.

5 out of 5 eggsZero Complaints

Pros: -UEFI bios
-Plenty of USB 3.0
-Tons of overclocking features
-Tons of expandability
-XMP support
-chassis fan voltage control

Cons: -Only made me one sandwich

Other Thoughts: If you care about functionality, this motherboard is for you. The auto overclocking feature works perfectly and chassis fan voltage control is fantastic at controlling fan speeds even on 3 pin fans. You can create a temperature curve that ramps up fan speed gradually to keep your computer cool and quiet even with cheap fans.
