5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard, everything you need, nothing you don't

Pros: It has all of the features anyone, including mid level overclocking gamers, could ever need. Only go beyond this if you are into extreme overclocking. The board is quite sturdy, all of the pieces are attached very solidly and it seems like it could take a beating if needed and still work. All of my components installed effortlessly into this board and are playing nicely with each other. The BIOS is very nice looking and easy to navigate through. It has also been 100% stable for me so far. The manual it came with is very helpful and explains in detail what the boards features do. The board looks even better in person than in does in the pictures, so if you have a clear side panel on your case, you will be proud to have this one showing.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Board

Pros: Rather inexpensive

Cons: This board has now failed a second time. Both times getting a USB over current status error. I could understand getting this error if I unplugged my USB devices or used a USB port to charge a smartphone/cell phone...I don't do either. Sending this back to ASUS. I will never buy another ASUS board again.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Good all around board. Easy to hook everything up with everything labeled well in the manual or on the board itself. The bios is easy to set up right out of the gate. Everything someone would want if they aren't a pro at building from scratch.

Cons: The I/O shield was awful. Had to place it on the motherboard then push it into place to get it to fit. Not a huge deal, but was a pain to deal with.

5 out of 5 eggsMy First Build

Pros: Was very easy to install in my first build. Started right up. Liked the way the CPU cover is designed to pop off as you close the lever. BIOS was super easy to deal with. No problem with loading drivers, etc. Included software is kinda cool, but a little clunky and weird. Haven't played with it that much yet, but automatic OC function seems to work perfectly. Don't think I've scratched the surface yet of all this board can do...looks like a lot of upside potential is built in.

Cons: Aluminum I/O shield is almost foil thin and has annoying prongs that make the board a bit hard to insert. Board is short and has only six mounting holes so it hangs over the middle row of MB stand-offs about 2 inches...not a big deal except that the power connector is on the overhanging portion so you need to be careful to support the board while connecting power. PCI-Ex slot seemed slightly crooked versus the case mount, but that seems more likely to be a case construction issue...went right in anyway with just a little torque and works perfectly.

Other Thoughts: Was initially a little disappointed that this board only has 2 SATA III connections, but I knew that going in. The price of this board was low enough that I couldn't justify upgrading to one of the fancier boards. Poking around the Newegg site I found I can add a PCI-Express card with additional internal SATA III ports, so that's a nice option for future expansion to a very nice and reasonably priced basic MB

1 out of 5 eggsThe Saga Continues...

Pros: Looks nice, great layout. A lot of features and fits well in my case

Cons: DOA....twice

Other Thoughts: So after purchasing this board, it came DOA out of the box. All the lights come up, fans spin, cd drive opens, closes, but no beep, no POST, no BIOS. RMA'd and received the 2nd one, same exact issues.

I had a certified computer technician check my processor, RAM, video card and power supply and all check out fine. I ensured I hooked up every part in this motherboard with kid gloves. Even went as far to ensure that not a single solder was touched when installing. RAM seated correctly..twice. Even went as far as to remove and replace the CPU 2 times to ensure that is installed correctly. tried the "Memok!?" function on both boards before RMA. Still DOA

It lights up my case and the pretty lights on the board just fine. But unfortunately doesn't do what it is designed to, which is POST, run BIOS and eventually, allow an OS to be installed.

About to RMA for my 3rd and final board of this type. Sucks because I have had no issues with ASUS at all over the years. My last ASUS board (A8N-SLI Premium) has worked for years. My Wifes ASUS board (M3A76-CM) has also worked fine for years.

Does anyone over at ASUS QA these boards before they are shipped?

Hopefully the 3rd time will be the charm. If not, unfortunately I will not be buying another ASUS board or recommending them to anyone.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you received another DOA board. All our boards are tested before being shipped out. Have you tried using a different PSU. Please try clearing CMOS to see if that will resolve your issue.

I have my fingers crossed for you. If you sent the unit in for service to ASUS please provide me the RMA number and serial number so I can check the status.

You can email me at cl-jeffrey@asus.com

ASUS strives to meet and exceeds our customer expectations within our warranty policy.

5 out of 5 eggsits a pretty solid motherboard

Pros: Every board i have is an Asus. Big time fanboy. Gotta say this is an awesome board for the price. 6gb/s sata, gen 3.0 pci ex., and supports pretty high clocked ram.Everything was a breeze to setup.Every component i put in worked and registered in the bios.I also kinda like the gui bios personally too.Manual was very helpful also.Good deal so far, I would definitely recommend this board.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -ASUS, all I have to say. They make amazing products, and this is an excellently made motherboard.
-Looks great. PCB is a dark brown/black color with awesome blue and white colors.
-GPU enhancement for processors with integrated graphics.
-The MEMoK feature is useful for booting with RAM that causes errors.
-Full size ATX board, but only uses 6 motherboard standoffs/screws.

Cons: -The CPU fan header and Chassis Fan Header 1 are right above each other, making the wiring a little weird.
-The internal header for HD Audio for your case, is on the back of board, casuing you to make the cable go all the way across the mobo.
-AI Suite, which is like a driver, caused errors for me in Windows 8, and I couldn't uninstall it. Finally forcefully uninstalled it and reinstalled the Win8 version and now no more errors

Other Thoughts: -Amazing motherboard
-Worth the little bit more from the LX to the LK
-Absolutely love this board

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is my first motherboard in my first gaming PC, so I don't know what all to judge. I haven't had any problems with it so far (about a month in).

-4 Fan headers

Cons: None
