5 out of 5 eggs3 Years

Pros: Been using this Mobo for three years, make sure to use the updated drivers and you should have no issues. Great board for beginner builds and enthusiasts. Great for over clocking I5-2500k has been stable at 4.5ghz since I installed it.

Cons: When the board first came out it was unable to detect my SSD but an update fixed that shortly after I got it.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat features, but failure rate is high

Pros: Great features, when it works its an awesome board

Cons: I'm currently sending in my second RMA for this board, and for hte same problem. After a few months the board will not power on or POST, and all other components have been tested and found working.

Other Thoughts: Asus took care of the first RMA no problem, but to have the same problem twice in a row for an expensive board like this is unacceptable. Will avoid Asus products after this experience.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I understand that you have problem with the motherboard and I want to help you fix it. If the motherboard can't do a successful post the problem is either with the processor, memory stick, or the graphics card. Can you please check all those hardware and usually there is an led lights to indicate which one have a problem. If you can also check check the led light in the power button because it going to show an error code and its all in numbers. For further technical assistance please email me at customerloyalty@asus.com and put case # N150103699 in the subject line for your reference.

ASUS Customer Loyalty are dedicated in helping you and all other ASUS customers.

Thank you for choosing ASUS.

Regards,

1 out of 5 eggsNo Video Output - Horrible product support

Pros: Looks good. Worked for over a year without any issues.

Cons: Out of the blue, the integrated graphics (on board hdmi, dvi, vga ports) quit displaying video output. The motherboard vga_led is lit. I get absolutely no video output - no bios messages, no asus splash screen, etc. I confirmed the video cables and monitor are good.

I engaged ASUS support and opened RMA. I sent the motherboard to ASUS for repair. ASUS sent it back with claims of having fixed the issue. After re-installing the board I confirmed it was still experiencing the same failure. Best I can tell ASUS product support did nothing to repair my board and just sent it back in the same broken state.

I expect better quality from ASUS. I have had HP and Dell products all last longer than this motherboard. Worse, I found ASUS product support (which is outsourced) to be a complete waste of time and a waste of money (in shipping costs). ASUS used to be one of my favorite brands - Not any more. I will be taking any and all future business elsewhere.

1 out of 5 eggsNo video output - ASUS support is useless

Pros: Nice board with plenty of features.

Cons: Motherboard worked great for over a year. Then out of the blue the integrated graphics quit working - failing to get any video output and motherboard VGA-LED is lit red.

I RMA'd the board and sent it back to ASUS. The ASUS support tech (outsourced) claimed to have found the problem and fixed it. Upon receiving the "repaired" board, I experienced the very same issue. Best I can tell ASUS support did not touch the board.

I expect a motherboard from any manufacturer to last longer than 1 year. I have multiple Dell and HP PCs that have lasted longer than this motherboard. My experience with ASUS support has proven to been a complete waste of time and a waste of money in shipping costs. ASUS used to be one of my favorites - Not anymore. I'll be shopping a different brand next time.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mobo

Pros: Lots of USB, SATA connectors. Have used built-in graphics with no problem. Easy to build out, even for this first time builder. Perfect for a software developer. Have upgraded many components, sometimes placed heavy load on the system, all with no problems.

Cons: The ASUS suite UI for Windows is awkward, but I seldom use it.

Other Thoughts: Have used the computer for 18 months now with no problems. Not really a mobo issue, but, be sure to get a good CPU cooler (such as CoolerMaster 212) to avoid problems. Highly recommended for non-gamer power users.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked good when it worked

Pros: It was good when it would work

Cons: Purchased on 5/6/2012
Had 4 stick of memory totaling 16 worked for about 6 month
RMA 2 sticks of corsair memory - Corsair had no issue with the RMA
Have been using the 2 other ones with random reboots & lockup
Tried the brand new RMA Memory - same thing Cleared the CMOS , Pressed the memory Timeing Mechanism, never connects
System does not POST

1 out of 5 eggsCaused error 11

Pros: N/A

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Mother board had error 11 accessing disk drives. This was resolved only after replacing the MB.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good MB

Pros: Seems to handle anything I throw at it - games, video editing, haven't had a problem due to the MB itself in the 3 years I've had it. It's actually a replacement of another p8z68 model (just before this one came out) that had bent pins.

Cons: Will lock up or reboot if anything higher than 1.5v memory is used. It took me quite awhile to figure this out after checking all of the other obvious things. Been working great since.

2 out of 5 eggsBad motherboard

Pros: Bios is easy to use.

Cons: I installed the drivers for the mother board then restarted my computer now its giving me BootMGR is missing and my computer will not start. i looked it up and i have an extra hard drive i have never open so i switched out the hard drives and it still is not working and will not allow me to install the OS again. Lastly it automatically splits up my hard drive into partitions. even though it is brand new and has nothing on it.
