1 out of 5 eggsterrible experience

Pros: features "SEEMS" good, but never works for you!

Cons: 1.) its much slower than my other 5 years old board. usually take 3 minutes to boot. 5-7 minus into working condition.
2.) medium to heavy load would cause crash, reboot, blue screen.
3.) it runs hot
4.) you can not insert more than 4 usb devices into the rear port together, otherwise, it doesn't work.
5.) the disc come with it quality is bad
6.) not only waste my time and money to RMA, but the board still the same like the first one, i doubt they do anything to the board, i believe they just mail it back without any repair.

Other Thoughts: never but from them again!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about your experience with this motherboard. Regarding slow boot, please try a basic hardware setup, update to the latest BIOS version available, load BIOS defaults (F5), and disable onboard devices that are not used. Can you tell me what your hardware setup and configuration is? Please check for high CPU and SYS temperature and add more cooling if needed. You can try running memtest on your memory and use Microsoft Debugging Tools to check BSOD. The drivers on the included disc may be out of date. We recommend obtaining the latest versions available from the product support page below. If you have any questions, need additional support, or would like to set up a RMA for the board, please contact me below. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: User friendly. Easy to set-up and install.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: When I installed this board I had never even seen a mobo before. If I can install it and set it up anyone can.

5 out of 5 eggsStill Workes

Pros: Simple to Install
Still working
Stable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Used this for in a build for my parents. It is still running quite well for them even though they are not the most computer savvy people out there. Price was an issue for my folks and dollar for dollar this delivers quite well. If your on a budget and want a gaming rig I wouldn't hesitate in buying this board. Anyways hope this helps, good luck and happy building.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board, BIOS Could Be Better

Pros: This motherboard has been supporting my first home-built system for over a year now, helping me rake hours in on YouTube (without lag), my plethora of graphics-set-to-high games, as well as my DOS-emulated games.

Cons: My only complaint, really has been the BIOS. It seems to always want me to overclock my processor, as it will attempt to do so if you push the power button while still at the POST screen. I also had a bit of a struggle getting the machine to accept "sleep mode" and "hibernation" (set it to "S3 only", that does the trick). But other than those minor quirks, everything works as it should.

1 out of 5 eggslike Newegg says, take it from a geek, do not purchase this board!!!

Pros: Great set of features
Do not have to worry about any settings for BIOS or fan settings.
Easy to use
Colors look cool
It is a great tool for learning about rma processes, troubleshooting and will teach you how to dissesemble a computer a billion times. I learned so much from this mistake of a purchase so that is the only thing that I can thank Asus for.

Cons: Crashed under moderated to heavy load. Chars he'd meaning either freezing up, blue screen, or restart, or freeze then blue screen then restart. This happened so frequently that windows was corrupted and I could not start it anymore w/o a bsod
I sold that board for half of what I bought it for to buy a new board from a competitor cough cough *gigabyte* cough
Have not had any problems since then. I bought this board after reading reviews that warned me, but I just thought that they didn't know how to use a computer but take my advice an please do not buy any other lower end Asus boards, they are just unstable to say the least. I am never going to recommend Asus again unless it is one of the republic of gamers boards because those have some heavy hardware in them. And if you do respond to this Asus just know that I believed in you before but my experiences with your call centers were just terrible.

Other Thoughts: To put in simple words, this board was a headache
Was fine running word and browsing Internet but as soon as I got on any game or any somewhat moderate to heavy use of the CPU, it would either freeze, blue screen, or restart, or a combination of all three. Like anyone else would, I troubleshooted the heck out of it until I just had a completely different system with this board and was still having problems. You name it and it was replaced. Then I decided that I would try to get a repair through Asus and oh boy was that fun. 3 RMAs I had, 3! The first one was a repair, the second was a replacement, then the final one was a repair of the replaced board. The process of each rma was at least consisting of 3 hours of waiting or troubleshooting and numerous calls because you would be forwarded to a different department which happened to be closed and the person who transferred me said they were open. I see major flaws in their call centers. Long story short that board wasted my time.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue with the motherboard.

Regarding crashing during moderate or heavy load, please try loading BIOS defaults--F5, make sure that your memory timings/frequency/voltage are set per manufacturer specs, and have the latest drivers for your video card. Also, after you power on the system, check CPU and system temperatures as overheat can cause stability. If the system BSOD in Windows, you can view the DMP files in Windows/minidump folder to see what caused the BSOD.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for a while?

Pros: Easy to overclock with this board, I really like the Asus EPU program since it helps save power.

Cons: Board is starting to flake out on me. My computer has started to randomly crash and it complains that overclocking failed when I currently have everything set to factory, it will fail to read hard drives on occasion as well.

Other Thoughts: It was a good board while it worked.....but...didn't work properly for very long at all really. First piece of hardware in about 10 years I've purchased that has failed me.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you had with the motherboard.

Please try to load BIOS defaults as "Overclocking failed" message only when an incompatible setting is used. Regarding the crashes, does it reboot, freeze, BSOD? Check your CPU and system temperatures, power supply, remove all non-critical components and install the latest driver updates, use a DMP viewer to analyze the minidump folder to see what file caused the BSOD. Are the drives not detected in BIOS or in Windows? Please check the cable connections and if possible try switching to another SATA port. If you believe that the motherboard is failing, consider RMA by calling 1-812-282-2787 or use the online form at http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_rmaserv.aspx. To continue support, email me at cl-benson@asus.com reference #C1037-3968.

4 out of 5 eggsNo problems here

Pros: Cheap, easy to install, Asus board, great info website from Asus

Cons: Not AM3+ compatible, not able to really upgrade CPU in the future

Other Thoughts: I've had no problems with this board. Bought it with an AMD Phenom II X4 955 back in Nov 2011 and it installed easily and recognized all my hardware. No problems with the Bios setup. Much easier to configure than some generic board you might find in a prebuilt. I'm a first time Asus customer and after dealing with horrible online documentation for generic boards, I'm amazed at the wealth on information that Asus gives customers for their hardware.

1 out of 5 eggsNothing but problems

Pros: USB 3.0 , SATA III. Was mediocre until Audio went out within 6 months. Bios updates fixed a number of issues I was having, so they at least stick with their boards once they are "out the gate".

Cons: Plagued with audio problems about 6 months in. I'll have to jiggle whatever device I have plugged into it to get sounds sometimes when it cuts out. I've tried several devices. When I do get static free, both speaker/headphone audio its pretty good. But if i so much as sneeze wrong I'll be forced to rummage around rotating and jiggling the cord until i get sound back. Incredibly annoying when your really into a game or movie to be suddenly have audio cut out or get staticy and ruin the mood/ambiance.

I have no idea why but I cannot put my computer to sleep with this mobo. When it wakes it just lags hard, and shows tons of ram being used for nothing. Its a real pain to need to cold start your comp every time you use it with no SSD. I've searched through some tech forums and there are others with this board that have the same problem. Bios is up to date so no excuse.

Other Thoughts: I am usually a fan of ASUS. This will be my first poor review in 5 years on this site but I feel that I must warn others to spend their money on another board.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete Excrement. Avoid!

Pros: Very featureful board at a low price

Cons: Plugging anything into the USB ports destroys whatever you plug in.

Other Thoughts: This is the board in my son's computer. It has so far fried two external drives, two USB sticks, and two SD card readers, totting up a cost greater than the motherboard itself. Whatever we plug in to the USB ports dies immediately.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the USB issue you have with the motherboard.

Are you using the the USB 3.0 or 2.0 ports, rear or front panel? If you're using front panel USB ports, please make sure they are wired correctly (if using single pin connectors) as power to the data connections or reverse polarity can damage devices that are plugged in. If your devices were plugged into the rear USB ports, the ports may be malfunctioning. In that case, please RMA the motherboard using the following form at:http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_rmaserv.aspx or call 1-812-282-2787.
