3 out of 5 eggsEh...just OK

Pros: Easy to overclock and overclocks very well. With an inexpensive H80i cooler I'm able to hit 4GHz EASY and super stable with this board using my Phenom IIx6 1090T.

Cons: Bad vdroop...7-10% in some cases but obviously not that big of a deal as you'll still get a pretty nice OC from it. What absolutely sucks about this board is that there's no SATA III, no USB3, no future FX-Core capability as it's only an AM3. Slots are very close together so if you're running SLI you will lose a PCIx1 slot as it will be covered by one of your cards

Other Thoughts: I only got this because it had an nforce chip on it and at the time I thought i really needed that for SLI. What a mistake...

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Have had this board since 12/2010 no issues...bought open box deal and was very happy with the gamble...running an unlocked x2 555 to x4 b55 @ 4.07 GHz stable all day even in a warm climate...had gtx460 sli to start just recently switched to gtx 660 sli no issues...excellent choice for the "mid-high" range builder.

Cons: wish it had sata 6gb/s and usb 3 oh well

Other Thoughts: My system:
Phenom X4 B55 @ 4.07 GHz<FSB @ 220/18.5 multiplier>-1.50v (1.44-1.47 after vdroop)
Cooler Master Hyper 212 (dual fans)
Gigabyte GTX 660s in sli
8gb G skill ripjaws ddr3 1600 @ 1760 8-9-9-24-2T 1.6v
120gb Samsung 840 Series SSD as boot drive
2 HDDs i dont care to list
Cooler master 912 all fan slots filled
LG blu ray player
Vizio 32' HDTV (1080p)
Cosair TX-650watt PSU
----------
WEI SCORES
CPU-7.5
RAM-7.8
GAMING/AERO-7.9
PRIMARY HARD DISK-7.7 would have got 7.9 if the board supported sata III
using artic silver 5 for thermal paste on cpu 27-30 degrees celsius idle 47 degrees celsius under prime95 load even in warm/mild room temp
Hope this was informative and helpful :-)

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Board EVER!!!!!

Pros: One of the only six core ready sli boards on the market when it came out.

Cons: Had bad dimm slot out of the gate, sent back replaced and a year later SATA port dies . I sent back the board and received a replacement board that had another bad dimm slot. I sent it back and recieved a board in working order. Not a full year later and the EATX12V port dies.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about the issues you had with the motherboard. We would be happy to take a look at the 8-pin CPU power connector issue with the current motherboard now and repair or provide you a replacement as necessary. Please RMA the motherboard using the form at: http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_rmaserv.aspx or call 1-812-282-2787.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat game and Home Theater board

Pros: Great cooling, nice board layout, holds twin Nvidia video cards.

Cons: I don't have any cons about this board. It has been very stable and reliable. I have had some slow downs trying to push 3D gaming onto a 60" DLP but that was expected and not really issues with the board. 6 GBs sata would have been nice.

Other Thoughts: I run twin GTX 460's, 16gb ram, and Phenom II 965. I use it for gaming and movies. With the right software it will convert DVD'd into 3D and play over a DLP. I don't oc the ram. I have been really happy with the board and recomend it if you have a AM3 chip. I see the 965's are $100 now. Run a couple GTX 560's and you could have a nice gaming system.

5 out of 5 eggsgood board

Pros: I liked the layout on the board. Visually pleasing if you have an open case. The chipset heat sink is pretty knarly looking.

I runs good with the mushkin ddr3 1600mhz ram I have in it it has been a very stable system

Cons: This isn't really the boards fault but I wasn't able to unlock my phenom II x2 555. So buying a 965 x4 BE.

I wish it had a few more fan controllers for a ram cooler but I have 5 cases fans... plus the CPU fan and 2 gpu fans soooo I tend to over do it.

Cons: A little tricky overovercloking memory.... I was able to overclock my memory to 2000mhz but BF3 would crash....Weird!..I had to lower tyhe spedd to 1866mhz then BF3 was stable....Windows Was stable the entire time.......Can anyone help on that?

4 out of 5 eggsThis board is alright for a year.

Pros: This board runs well with a 6-core AMD Phenom II 1090T CPU. I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate. I just installed a 2TB drive a couple months ago. The one thing I like about this board is that it has one slot for a PATA drive for when I have a PATA drive I want to test or get files off of.

I love the SLI feature that comes with the board.

Cons: Getting to the PATA slot can be a hassle if you have huge cards in your PCIe x16 slots and there is no cable management inside your case.

After about 6 months of use, one of my memory slots died, so it wouldn't post with all the slots being utilized, but it would post with 12GB of RAM. Right now I have my machine running on 8GB.

Last month, my machine's audio died. When I opened the Device Manager, I saw no audio drivers installed. When I tried to download them from the Asus site and install them from the disk that came with the motherboard I received something like, "No audio devices recognized". When I click the speaker by my system clock, I receive a troubleshooting window that tests the system and then tells me, "Hardware changes might not have been detected."

Not enough SATA slots on the board.

I have an Asus Sabertooth coming next week.

Other Thoughts: I never overclocked my CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Review Update / response

Pros: Great mid-high range build. I have more details in my other post.

Cons: Had to purchase Item#: N82E16815166014 Rosewill PCI-e USB extension slots to deal with the issue. The USB connectors have a high tolerance so your USB wont feel like they are in tight and snug but its a minor issue for all the board is offering. The manufacturer supplied unsolicited steps to try and resolve the issue. it did not completely fix it but it seems to have made the usb more stable by uninstalling the usb controllers and restarting, just make sure you set windows to shut down on its own in a few minutes or you will have to improperly shut it down when you lose keyboard and mouse connectivity.

Other Thoughts: It may have just been this particular board. I am getting no issues what so ever now. So aside that small hickup i would deffinately recommend this board, and the Asus Sabertooth.
