ASUS SABERTOOTH 55i LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Booted up when I first set it up with the correct memory.

Cons: Doesn't work. No boot, no messages, no light

Other Thoughts: Highly disappointed - paid good money for this fail board and it doesn't work. It was a pain to get setup in the first place and after sitting for a month waiting to be deployed it termed. I could not get it to post for anything. Junk - ASUS should be ashamed - especially for the price they are asking.

Pros: I was stuck on something, rookie mistake, fixed it, POST takes a good 10 seconds, overclocking abilities are good, can easily go to the preset 3.03 or others.-++++-------------------++++----------

Cons: Some people dont like the black military style, but I think its good.

Other Thoughts: The only TRUE problem I had which others have had, which isnt a con just annoying, the RAM timings were off, set to auto its 9-9-9-24, had to switch to 7-7-7-21. Which is fine, because I like to edit all my motherboard options on the first startup anyway, just gets annoying is all.

Other Thoughts: At the moment Im a bit confused, Ive never had a broken or DOA cpu before, I bought this motherboard as a combo purchase, but when powered up I get the CPU_LED lighted up, meaning that something is wrong with the CPU, and the manual states that theres something wrong with it, but it doesnt state what exactly the problem is. The display wont detect anything, tried 2 different video cards, its my 4th build so Im just confused as to what to do at this point. Help from anyone would be appreciated.

Cons: after hours of going through tech support on clearly a dead board no beeps no post. I RMA'd through newegg if second one comes DoA i will be returning, cant wait for this to cost me more then a 1336 socket board just through returns and shipping fee's. Ty newegg though for being hassel free i was about upset as i could be.

Other Thoughts: I do look foward to getting a working board i absolutly love the colours and thing they did an amazing job with the look:)

Other Thoughts: JJS - If you can not identify the serial port header on this motherboard then you have no reason to be building a computer. It's Com1 up near the ATX connector.

Pros: I wish I could report on this. Board is well laid out, and good-looking but read on...

Cons: Cannot get the board to post. I used 1600 RAM, Gskill Ripjaw, Core i5 760 Lynnfield. Nothing. OK Mem light was on but would not configure this ram. Wouldn't post with just one stick or both in any configuration. Will not even BEEP with the RAM in, will give the proper beep without RAM so I know the board is at least THERE. Some people reported that it worked with that RAM and some people reported the no post experience, like me. I should have heeded the warning. If the new RAM I ordered doesn't work I will RMA the board, which is a major pain. I have a customer waiting for a computer, I am losing money with every RMA on the deal, I am a very busy person on top of this so right now I am not happy at all. Asus assistance was sort of not helpful, they thought I perhaps had a memory problem too (duh) but were unable to provide in-depth advice on this product. They were friendly and professional of course, but of little real help.

Other Thoughts: One Egg is a gift since it is a required field. Maybe on problematic products like this Newegg could post a RAM recommendation for us. BTW, this is NOT a slam against Newegg, I buy from them for a reason:Great service. Just a suggestion.

Pros: Has breadboard testing capabilities with a reset and power button ON the mobo.

Nice spacing and air cooling is enough for this board.

Cons: No printer port which is my own fault as well as only 1 ATA slot for max 2 IDE components
SATA slots are mounted on the side of the board. If it were 1 slot per space, then I'd be fine. But it is 2 pairs of 2 slots on each. If i'm not careful enough, I may knock off the slots. They could have places the slots in place of the E-Sata slots...who really uses that many E-Sata slots?
Finally...Ram didn't detech my DDR3-1600..only shows up as DDR3-1067
I don't OC so I don't have wish to up my multiplier etc.

Other Thoughts: Solid board, just small quirks

Pros: Can't say anything bad about this board. Easy set-up and booted right up. Many, many useful features. On board audio is excellent, didn't need a sound card. I bought DDR3 1600 RAM for this by mistake (1333Mhz only with Lynnefield processors), but the board automatically reset the values to work correctly. A sensitive beast!

All this is a tight fit in an Antec 300 case, but I got it all in. This is a media machine, no need for overclocking, but there are certainly enough features for that on this board. MEM-OK is cool.

Pros: Solid board, Overclocks like crazy

Cons: Needs USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb

Other Thoughts: I'm oveclocking a Core 15 750 to 4GHz by only adjusting the B clock. everything else is at their defaults. What a board!

Pros: The board has a lot of good feature and seems to definitely give a leg up for some future proofing. With error lights and controls on virtually everything via the bios makes me feel content that I can control so much of what is going on.

Final thought if you are wondering if ASUS makes good stuff don't wonder. There stuff rocks!!!

If you are wondering about their support. I called them several times and they are usually pretty helpful although they do not say I don't know when they should. I asked them about the RPM incorrect readings and they told me it was my fans they were all new. I asked them about the ports they said it was my equipment. I found out on there website about fan issues and the BIOS updates.

Get the board if you are thinking about upgrading.

I would have given 5 eggs, but I have to RMA.

Cons: Well lets see:
1) Defective board several on the internal ports do not function.
2) Fan Issues:
A) The CPU fan randomly does not start
B) One of the fan monitors does not report any fan spinning.
C) All the other fans reported incorrectly until a bios update.
D) No adapters for the fans.
3) ASUS is completely unaware of what is going on in their accessories department. Really, I mean this they have to be losing money here the people don't know anything and the site is highly disorganized. I would expect better from ASUS I wanted to buy your accessories for this board, but everybody I contacted did not know a thing about it and they gave me attitude when asking. -- This is strictly a note on accessories department. Everyone, else at ASUS is awesome.

Other Thoughts: Overall its a good board when working correctly. Like anyone else I am upset I have to take apart my computer and wait for a replacement board to come so I am out a system until that point.

I don't know how ASUS is performing quality checks but clearly it needs some revamping as I feel i should not have easily identified 3 failed internal ports and a dead fan monitor being that i had not even plugged in everything and believe me I could have.

One other thing I like the fact the ASUS give the option for a serial port because I still use them, but I am disappointed that there is no way to EASILY find the serial port connector. Also, I am disappointed that there is no parallel port, but this is up to ASUS. I clearly knew what I was getting but I just wanted the item to work and not go through an RMA process. I will provide another update after my RMA hopefully it is just one RMA. Unfortunately, these things tend to happen in batches.
