in response to: in a response to "should be better"
- Pros: overall a great board, with lots of tweakability
- Cons: I understand where you're coming from, but I was unable to adjust the RAM timings to create a working build. I did find something useful, however. The sticks work both in single channel (opposite colored slots) but when put in dual channel fail to POST. I know each of the sticks work. They are DDR3 1333 Kingston hyperX ram modules 4x2gig. Each was tested individually, and all sticks are good, but refuse to boot in dual channel.
I fully updated the bios, but with no luck to the RAM issues. ASUS has offered no support through calling, and emailing, they said the same things, as have been said on random internet tech forums, none of which helped. This is currently the only issue I've had, but it's a pretty big one in my books, so I still can't give the board a 5 egg. It did get one more egg for allowing the single channel, and finally will get a 5 egg, once I figure the problem out. It is a great board, just giving me troubles.

- Pros: works great
recognized everything the first time
- Cons: none
Best Value
- Pros: Flawless performance, excellent value. Powered USB ports during sleep mode allows me to wake the computer with a keystroke.
- Cons: Express Gate is not functioning, could likely be fixed with a BIOS update.
- Other Thoughts: Express Gate is a simple web browser that you can access without booting up your OS. Because I rarely shut down my computer (it's in sleep mode), I don't use this function.
