Good motherboard
- Pros: -Great starter motherboard for an i7, however I recommend a Gigabyte motherboad
-price -Plenty of SATA ports
- Cons: -PCIe x1 in a bad spot, I wished it was before the x16 ports, and maybe one more would've been good.
-3 PCI ports, honestly I don't know who uses them anymore, PCIe x1 has more bandwith than that port -Only Crossfire, not that I do SLI but the option would be nice
- Other Thoughts: I normally only choose ASUS, but I feel that Gigabyte is leading the motherboard manufacturer. Most of their boards offer SATA and USB 3.0, and they place the PCIe x1 ports in the right spots without getting in the way of dual slot graphics cards.
I like ASUS but honestly my next motherboard will be a Gigabyte.
- Pros: non-DOA, dont seem to need to flash bios for anything, running an i7-920 at 4.1 ghz on the stock cooler (granted, it will run too hot on high/100% utilization/benchmarks/etc)
- Cons: the last system I built was in 1996! as far as missing features I wouldn't know. I first POST'd the system on a 10+ year old PCI vid card!
- Other Thoughts: no complaints
Great Board, No SLi
- Pros: The entire board is quite a plus as its very cheap, overlcockable and easy to setup.
- Cons: It doesn't support SLi, only crossfire. The PCI-e 1x is in an awkward place so if you have a video card then its kind of difficult to take advantage of it.
- Other Thoughts: I like it, but I would probably spend a little more on an evga board with SLi and a quicker FSB.
