5 out of 5 eggsI love this board!

Pros: This is a great board, i've owned it for over a year and have really had no problems. Only real problem I had was the audio with windows 7, all I had to do was update my drivers, I guess thats probably common for noobs to not know what their doing and just buy a new board and try to slap it in and expect everything to work.. some times things need troubleshooting. thats why were tech guys.. right?

Cons: None other than having to update drivers for everything, but thats a given. your going to do that anyways!

Other Thoughts: Great board for a gamer on a budget, I have mine with the AMD Phenom 9850 Quad, ATI Radeon 9670, OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB DDR2, OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600W power supply and Cooler Master Sniper Black case.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding motherboard.

Pros: This is a great motherboard with lots of room for the newer graphics cards. With pretty much all high end video cards being double wide, you really need to examine your motherboard layout before buying. I have two EVGA GTX 295 video cards and they fit very nicely on this board, but I still lost the use a of a PCI-E 1x slot, and a PCI slot, due to how wide the cards are. I upgraded to this from an Asus M2N-SLi motherboard, and due to the poor layout of the board, my video cards covered up 2 of my sata ports! This card however has no such issues as you will notice the areas near the PCI-E 16x slots are generally quite clear. Even with two monster double wide video cards, I still had room for a Creative X-Fi titanium soundcard (pci-e 1x) and a wireless adapter card.

Cons: These aren't real cons any typical person buying this motherboard would run into, I'm sort of a "budget" gamer, though my budget is much higher than most. But all the new video cards (anything from the Nvidia 200/400 series) is going to be so wide it WILL cover up the slot below it. And if you have two such cards, it will make access to your front panel wiring, front audio and front USB wiring, a very tight fit. Another thing should be noted, there are only 4 properly working SATA ports on this board, the 5th and 6th ports require tinkering with raid controllers to use. I had hooked up my 5th harddrive to this and it took me quite some time to figure out why it wasn't being detected.

Other Thoughts: A great motherboard with very unique features. This was the ONLY board that I could find that had AM3/AM2+/AM2 support, with SLi support, with DDR2 RAM ports. I personally believe that DDR3 RAM isn't worth the money you have to pay for it. DDR2 RAM will do just fine. I'd highly recommend this board to any Nvidia GPU/AMD CPU user looking to do SLi. The space between the two slots is also great for airflow, if you aren't looking to do 3-way SLi.

Pros: eay install fast boot but leave out the express gate for desktops and this is a way to got for windows 7 on a budget. Works great with my 9800GTX+ older graphics card. Great for a medium board and using a 6400 amd x2 cpu and 4 gigs!!!

Cons: Disk does not support windows 7 but I guess I'll get to the download sight.

Other Thoughts: Could have spaced the board out for pci runing two video cards for anyting extra but thats ok for now..!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MB

Pros: Great motherboard. Fast and stable.

Cons: Expressgate... it's for laptops! I wish that both pci-e slots could operate at 16x. You can only have either or, but from what I understand the performance is negligible.

Other Thoughts: I along with another user review needed an AM3 SLI board that supported DDR2. This fit the bill.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going...

Pros: I don't overclock anymore, so I can't say whether this motherboard is any good for that, but of all the motherboards I've dealt with, I feel as if I've had few if any problems with this one compared to others.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Other than the monitor and hard drive failing, the last computer I built has had very few problems. This must be a very reliable motherboard. I'll definitely consider buying more ASUS products.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Great layout. Easy to install and setup. Exactly the same SATA drivers as the ASUS M3N78Pro. No need to reinstall the OS. Upgraded because my new BFG GTX260 covered the SATA slots on the other board. This dropped right in. Just uninstalled the Audio, NVIDIA drivers and the NVIDIA tools. Popped it in with my new video card and off it went. Reinstalled the drivers and it was running. Didn't loose anything in Win XP Pro. Very stable, good BIOS. Supports AM3, OC options, unlocking dual cores to quad and has a heat sink on the CPU regulators.

Cons: VIA audio leaves alot to be desired. I always preferred Real Tech audio which plays and records well for on board audio. EQing the audio only changes on a button up. So you slide it around and nothing happens until you take your finger off the button. Bad and annoying. Recording is atrocious. It plays games and movies OK but I ordered a sound card.

Other Thoughts: The DVD drivers disk is not blank. Your DVD drive has to support DVDROM. Some don't. I had 4G of DDR2 1066 that I bought from Newegg for 45 bucks 1 year and 1/2 ago. Memory is too expensive now to upgrade for little if any performance boost. That's why I didn't go with a new AM3 board. My AMD 7750 DC BE OC 3.1G does everything I ask of it. So I'm good. I say buy it.

1 out of 5 eggsUgh...

Pros: Has lots of nice features and it looks very nice. Its good for someone who doesn't constantly want to buy the newest thing on the market. Alot better than my old M2a-vm board.

Cons: *Phew* Well, I'm running Winodws 7 64 bit and it seems to support it according to the site, but it is not reading any of my USB ports except from my front case ports, even after installing ALL of the latest drivers. It's not even reading the fire wire port either. I tried to install the Audio codec from the CD and from the website, but no luck. It keeps telling me that there is no HD audio hardware detected. Also the spdif pins came bent up. Was this a used board???

Other Thoughts: This is kinda sad that i'm mostly going to have to RMA this product. I have been using many ASUS products for years with no problems. I was so excited but definitely let down.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Great Board. Running a 140 TDP 9950 Phenom chip and has all the quality of my higher priced # 1 PC's Asus board. All it needs is some OCZ Reaper memory and it will be finished.
Run Windows 7 Update and it will download the ATK0100 ACPI Device driver and the latest Chipset driver.

Cons: None. Thanks ASUS.
