5 out of 5 eggsI like ASUS

Pros: My build using this board was easy. Everything worked the first time. I've been running this board for just over 7 months now with no problems. This is my second ASUS board that I have ever used, and my experience with both have been great.

Cons: If you use the 1066 memory, you have to manually set the BIOS to make it work properly. I had to do a little reading to understand what settings I should use. I like to plug and play, so that was a little annoying.

Other Thoughts: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 920 2.8GHz processor
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Superclocked Edition
Memory: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066
Power Supply: XIGMATEK MC NRP-MC851 850W modular PS
Hard Drive: WD Caviar Green WD5000AADS 500GB
Operating System: XP Home
DVD Burner: Lite-On 24X Model: IHAS124-04

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board, Easy build.

Pros: I have nothing bad to say about the board. Fired up first time w/ Win7.

Cons: I knocked off 1 egg because the enclosed CD and utilities were not up to date (the loader identified the OS as MCE and wouldn't go any further) ASUS support refused to ship out an updated CD. OK, a minor anoience but for 180$ american they could afford a stamp.

4 out of 5 eggsoverall good product

Pros: tons of features, and OCability...holds lots of RAM and 4gpu's

Cons: for the people having boot and lock up issues. i had probs also..no signal, or mode not supported on startup...also the fans just running full blast for minutes....the auto settings in your bios do not set right. my cpu and ram voltages were too high with auto on...i had to manually set cpu to 1.3125volts and my ram manually to 1.8 volts...no more boot issues

Other Thoughts: i do get display driver crashes with my 5770 with up to date drivers. i dunno if its the drivers or the mobo...kinda iffy about spending $ on a new mobo and not resolving the issue

1 out of 5 eggsNO Drivers

Pros: 4 pci express, large heat sink, 4 fan headers

Cons: NO DRIVERS, if you have a 64-bit operating system don't get his motherboard the drivers dont come on the cd/dvd and the way to download them from asus is not in English

Other Thoughts: why no 64 drivers

1 out of 5 eggsTech support stinks

Pros: Runs great when it runs....

Cons: Board ran fine until it stopped booting up. It will start and go into BIOS but when you save & exit, it won't boot into Windows. It just sits there with the fans spinning. Have to then clear cmos and unplug PSU to get it to restart into BIOS again.

Other Thoughts: Explained in detail to tech support about this issue and twice I sent this board to them for REPLACEMENT and they returned the SAME board to me with nothing resolved!!!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Mobo so far

Pros: This board is really nice. Installed easily.

Cons: The bag of screws that came with it had no parts list so I have all these leftover screws that I don't really need but I would love to know what they are for.

Other Thoughts: Wifi would have been nice.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: This board runs like it should. I have been buying Asus for a few years and have always been happy with the product I get from them. Newegg also rocks.

Cons: First board was DOA, but Newegg got another board out to me and it works fine no issues.
I won't even deduct an egg for the DOA board. This happens with every company you buy from. It just has to be made right.

Other Thoughts: I wish that Asus had put DDR3 and USB 3.0 on this board with the current CPU configurations. It would have made this board perfect for my situation.

5 out of 5 eggsvery good motherboard

Pros: another sweet product from A$US

this M4A79 DELUXE board supports the last 3 generations of processors from amd from AM2,AM2+ and even AM3,and
will run 4,yes FOUR AT1 PC1-E VIDEO CARDS! or 2(two)
nvidia cards in primary/physics configuration only, not sli !

YES if you have NV1DIA CARDS that's fine too,im running my BFG 295 GTX as the primary graphics card AND my XFX 9800 GTX+ for PHYSICS,SO YES NVIDIA CARDS WILL AND DO WORK IN ATI MOTHERBOARDS!some lower skilled builders are confused about this but its true, you can run 2
nvidia cards on a crossfire motherboard,BUT NOT IN SLI !

Later on i fully intend to install either 2 ati 5970 CARDS or
4 5870 or 5850 cards, either way in QUAD CROSSFIRE when
these cards lower in price AND as soon as the GREEN TEAM GETS OFF THE BENCH AND BACK IN THE GAME,LOL

this board is great for those of us who want to use our DDR2 ram instead of DDR3 which is supported with the M4A79"T" DELUXE. if you still want to use your ddr2/800
or ddr2/1066 bu

Cons: The only con i can think of and its not even worth an egg or a deduction,is the fact that we AMD/ASUS/ATI/NVIDIA users all want ability to RUN EITHER SLI or CROSSFIRE on the same motherboard, they can do it on most X55 or X58
motherboards,so find a way to do this on the AMD boards,
when this is accomplished AMD/ATI will gain huge SALES !

to the manufacturers of all these PC enthusiast products
read the forums, listen to what people really want AND
WHAT THEY DISLIKE!also follow sales figures and trends
and try to incorporate ideas that make other PC products either a success or ELIMINATE BAD IDEAS that make many products complete failure's.i know its easy for me to sit back and tell you all this but if you want to Gage reactions or try new things, then follow forums and see what we like.

Other Thoughts: Ive had SOME(LOL) ASUS boards and still own many:
1)ASUS P2B THEN P3B models(p2,p3 slot 1 and skt 370)
2)ASUS P4B533-socket 478 intel
3)ASUS P4P800-SE/DELUXE great boards,had 8 of them
4)ASUS K8N-AMD boards
5)ASUS M2N MVP CROSSFIRE/AMD(my first AM2 board!!)
6)ASUS M2A VM-(still own and use today,great board)
7)ASUS M2N DELUXE-good board,great layout
8)ASUS M2N SLI DELUXE-(still own and use today,PERFECT)
9)ASUS M3N-HT DELUXE HEATPIPE EDITION-(wicked board)
10)ASUS M3A32 MVP DELUXE WIFI-(JUST SOLD RECENTLY)
11)ASUS M2A68 SE2-GREAT BUDGET BOARD
12)ASUS M4A79 DELUXE- (MY NEW BABY, I LOVE IT)

so as you can see,ive had 12(that i can remember) ASUS
MOTHERBOARDS,theres a reason for this IVE NEVER HAD 1(ONE)ASUS BOARD FAIL.this is the honest truth!

98% of failures RMA'S and bad experiences are user error,
come on guys n girls, more than half of you aren't EXPERT BUILDERS,how can someone who doesn't know the difference of crossfire + sli BLAME ASUS? if you cant build

5 out of 5 eggsBest Board out there.

Pros: I put this board in a friends high end build and I spoke with him recently. This board has been great for him and had no problems. We ran it with all kinds of upgrades and vista 64 bit.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I intend to use this board in my next build for myself and for my wife since it has been the best amd board out there for some time now.
