4 out of 5 eggsOkay MoBo for the price

Pros: Cheap motherboard
Socket type is date so the CPU's are cheap.
Max Ram at 16gb is decent
Supports a Clock speed of 1866 on the RAM which is decent as well.
DVI port onboard.
MSI finally added drivers for Windows 8.

Cons: The FM1 socket is very dated, for an extra 100 bucks you could go with the current FM3+ socket APU/CPU and MoBo.
FM1 APU's with the exception of the entrée level A4-3400 are really hard to come by and cost way too much for their age. Example the A8 3870k (top APU for this socket) is about $100-$150, you can easily get a AM3+ CPU for less than that and blow the A8 3870k out of the water, for example the FX-4130 Zambezi or a refurbished AMD FX-4350 Vishera both costing around $100 and which kill anything FM1 can put up.
No USB 3.0 support onboard.
Only 6 USB ports on the MoBo (though this is more standard for the price)
For about 10 bucks more you can get a MoBo that supports 32bg of RAM.
For the price I cannot complain much.

Other Thoughts: I have had the MoBo for about 2ish years, it has been used in a low end gaming rig and has been running like a champ. I purchased it knowing it was a dated socket knowing it would be hard to upgrade, but I have found it to be about impossible to get a betting APU for it without spending enough money to pick up a new MoBo and current APU/CPU though I managed to get a use A6 online.

The only major ongoing issue I have is a bad USB port, one of the ports on the back if you plug anything in to it the PC will crash and not power back on until the device is unplugged. The other 5 ports on the back work fine, I have not felt it worth the effort of contacting MSI about a replacement. The other major issue looks to have been resolved upon writing this review, MSI took over a year to come out for windows 8 drivers for this MoBo; my PC BSOD's due to a driver state error whenever it recovers from a low power state (Sleep/ hibernate| I have reinstalled windows a few times so I know it’s not the install causing this) when I get a change I will load the Win8 driver to see if that resolves this.

For the price I was able to toss together a functional rig for about $199 minus the OS, and it has been a champ this entire time less my USB port and possibly resolved driver issues. If you don’t mind getting a really dated socket and having next to no upgrade path from the A4-3400 this is not a bad MoBo and is worth a try.

3 out of 5 eggsIts Okay

Pros: After my Build I decided I`d make a Build for my BF the next month He didn't need too much Just something better to Game on Paired with a AMD A8 CPU, 8GB Ram, GTX-650 Ti. All Worked Great!

Cons: But after about 6 months for some reason the SATA ports would act up with the hard drive and BIOS wouldn't post unless nothing was plugged in to the BIOS, Tried different ports finally got it to boot back up.

And then about a Year Later (2014)
The Motherboard started acting up and giving error codes, Let it sit over night and reset the BIOS and BAM started working again, its just been Finicky.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent basic board

Pros: Easy to install.
Has PCI, PCIe and graphics slots.

Cons: No USB3 or SATA3 (but for this price wasn't expecting).
With AMD A4-3300 and 4GB DD3 1600 - windows score of 4.9 driven by lower Aero score.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent board

Pros: Worked as expected.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My previous computer HDD failed so I decided to do an inexpensive upgrade. This motherboard worked as expected as I have never had a problem with an MSI motherboard. Can't say enough good things about the MSI product line.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for budget build

Pros: Micro atx plenty of connector and even has a IDE connector.

Cons: Didnt come with a ide cable

Other Thoughts: Paired this with a dual core 2.7 fm1 chip and installed windows everything went smooth. After installing windows i put in the driver disk and installed all drivers. Rebooted like it said and still didnt see the network connection. As the amd chipset is the first driver it installs i figuredi would try just installing the network driver by itself after a reboot and it went right thru. The person i built this for loves it and it even has room to upgrade to a graphics card. I used a 4 gig stick f ram so i can add another stick of ram later if needed. Ran the ram at 1866 with no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: I've purchased three and all of them have worked.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Motherboard I've used to build 3 three PCs for people who just needed a basic PC for internet and homework. Paired with AMD A4-3400 Llano 2.7GHz processor works great for its purpose.
