5 out of 5 eggsDoes its job

Pros: This mobo isn't the "greatest" but for the value and price I can't argue, I bought this back in 2010 and its still working properly. It's performance / price ratio is outstanding.

Cons: Slightly out of date. (If you're looking for a mobo, this one is / was good for its time, but it's probably time to move on now.) The specs will explain what I'm talking about.

Other Thoughts: If you're really tight on budget and you need a mobo that can still hold it's wait, it's not a bad grab despite my con.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI 770-G45

Pros: my 1st board ever used to build a computer, was easy to install, 6 Sata ports for plenty of drives which is great. After 2 years, still no problems. Will be going with MSI for my upgrade soon :)

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Would have been nice to include an onboard RAID chip with the 6 Sata ports. With 6 sata ports you are capable of doing Raid 0, raid 1, raid 5, and Raid 0+1 and still have room to plug a cd/dvd/blue ray player via sata (or ide).. but that is just vanity

1 out of 5 eggsExplosion and Fires ! !

Pros: It worked for however long that it did. black friday price was cheep.

Cons: My first Mobo cought fire, and MSI was good in replacing it. but now my replacement Mobo just had the same issue as the first, and a similar component that caught fire on the first one just exploded on me. do not buy, even though it's currently OUT OF STOCK", if it ever become's in stock, you shouldn't buy.

Other Thoughts: I am very disappointed ! ! !

and no internal graphics, but i decided b4 i bought it that i didn't care about internal graphics. so Meh...

2 out of 5 eggsIntermittent issues

Pros: Mostly works, decent layout, nice packaging, easy overclocking and core unlocking via BIOS

Cons: Intermittent issues with PCI-E. In about 50% of cases the board doesn't output any signal to my video card so the screen is blank. Have to reset the PC - sometimes multiple times - to get the signal going. This becomes a habit but it's not how it's supposed to be... annoying. Otherwise a good board it seems, had no issues with it except for intermittent issue with no signal to PCI-E.

Other Thoughts: Paid $80 for this board as part of a combo, and it was probably too much. Submitted an RMA request to MSI now (it's close to 1 year since I bought the board and I've had enough).

5 out of 5 eggsEverything a basic gaming system needs

Pros: Enough Ram slots, SATA ports, and PCI-E/PCI slots for "standard" builds.
BIOS is relatively simple to setup.
Running solid with GTX460/Athlon2 X4.
Bought for $50 without rebate.

Cons: The southbridge passive cooler isn't the greatest.

Other Thoughts: No Firewire or eSATA, but if you need that a PCI/PCI-e card is always an option.
No on-board video, a video card is needed.

4 out of 5 eggsActually pretty good

Pros: I got this board for $50, and I was afraid that it was going to be bad. Fortunately, it works really well. I'm glad I bought it. It has a lot of cool options in the BIOS that have come in handy (like the ability to gang or ungang RAM). I think it's a nice gaming board. It also allowed me to unlock a fourth core on my 3 core AMD processor. :)

Cons: I don't know why they put a PS/2 and serial port on the back of this. It annoys me that they're taking up space. Also, it would have been nice to have onboard video as a backup / for troubleshooting purposes.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a good "bang for the buck", I suggest this board.

1 out of 5 eggsAnother bad MSI product

Pros: Relatively inexpensive for the features. Cool color scheme.

Cons: DOA. No POST.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board from Newegg on an open box special. It was DOA. I've had 3 bad video cards and 2 bad motherboards from MSI in the last year. Most of my customers regard MSI as a pretty good brand, but with the luck I've had with them compared to ASUS, I don't see myself chancing it anymore. I've had 0 bad ASUS boards in the last year, of about 150 that I've used. Of the 10 or so MSI board, 2 have been bad. Not very good odds there.....
