Pros: -Lots of built on starters
-Easy expandability
-Strong integrated Peripherals

onboard HDMI/VGA/DVI
Gigabit LAN
SLI ready.
Support for up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM
Still has IDE connections for backwards compatability.

Cons: Only 2 PCI-E slots
The SATA ports are a bit hard to get to in cramped cases.
Could use a couple more sata ports.

2 out of 5 eggsNope.

Pros: Performs well...

Cons: ...when it runs.

First board: DOA, refused to power on, returned to Newegg.
Second board: over a year later, it refused to power on, RMA'ed to MSI
Third board: six months later, refused to power on. Replaced with Asus.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately, this board does not have a good track record for reliability on forum postings. MSI does not seem to want to own up. I'm done.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board.

Pros: It is what it is.. Still in operation, I purchased this mobo for gaming / graphic design for work. I never had a problem till the day I gave it to a friend.

It's still going strong.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Is still a decent board, still powerful enough for what most people still do today.

1 out of 5 eggsTERRIBLE!! DO NOT BUY!!!

Pros: low price, but given the cons, you get what you pay for.

Cons: Had stability problems from the start. did not like any RAM i put in, no matter what voltage setting. BIOS very finicky, settings would stop taking after 2 or 3 changes so I had to factory reset. after several hard resets, it completely locked up and was unusable.

Other Thoughts: MSI is a TERRIBLE company. After sending in my motherboard they replaced it with an entirely different model which was REFURBISHED. refused to have any contact with me until i gave up. the refurbished one ran decently for a good 1.5-2 years until one day a chip melted emitting an awful burning smell. i sent it in for a replacement and got yet another refurb... that one was bricked... sent it back and they claimed they were reviewing the case and checking hardware every time i called and/or emailed. nothing ever came of this, they were just stalling until the warranty was up so they wouldnt have to deal with me. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, DO NOT BUY FROM MSI!!!

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems here

Pros: Solid overclocker, 4.2GHz stable phenom ii 955 BE on air. Hasn't caught on fire.

Cons: I suppose the 1600(oc) is a con but I knew that when I bought it, takes some tweaks to keep it 100% stable at 1600.

Other Thoughts: I guess I've just been lucky, Have had this for about a year and a half and I have to say it has been badly abused. If I'm not gaming I'm folding. this has had nearly full 24/7 run time usually around full load and still runs solid.

2 out of 5 eggsNot a very good purchase

Pros: This board ran pretty well while it worked.

Cons: Like most people here, after a short 2 and a half years, it went kaput, and took my power supply along with it. I took my machine to a local dealer and had them test it, and the motherboard was out, along with an expensive power supply. I don't know if it damaged anything else. I won't know that until I get a new one. MSI used to be good. They were the first Mobo's I bought. Now I've been told by a number of people to stay away from them. Sucks to hear that. Oh well, at least nothing caught on fire.

1 out of 5 eggsBoard lasted me about 7 months

Pros: None

Cons: I'm about to go to college and was hoping to bring my pc along for the trip, now I have another college expense that will probably not be bought, due to my low budget. My use of this board was not ridiculous, I would use it for school and some PC gaming here and there. Maybe throw in a little bit of photoshop. I saw this board on sale, and I immediately thought oh another great deal from Newegg, so I picked it up to start my build for my new PC. Later on I assembled it and this was the only part which making me feel a little shaky on the capabilities of my pc. Now going 2 weeks without a PC to use has really showed me that I shouldn't have shorted out on such an important piece of my PC. Please don't waste your time or money by buying this board. I recommend you invest a little more and get a board that won't break pre-maturely.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not last

Pros: First one lasted a year

Cons: This motherboard will fail. My first board lasted about a year, my replacement board lasted about 6 months

Other Thoughts: Because I have low tech knowledge, it took me a long time to figure out the motherboard was the part that died. Replacing a motherboard is a real pain. When the second one died, I went and bought another PC.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issues that you are having with this product.
For the issues you were having, they might be caused by defective components rather than the board itself.
Our RMA process requires the board to be fully tested and then returned to the customer.

Please kindly contact us at usreview@msi.com with your previous RMA# and we will see what other options we can do for you, thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Board... But...

Pros: Sli board that will hold two vid cards. Good sound. Good power. This is an update to wa review I posted previously

Cons: After a year the board went out. MSI has been increasingly difficult to get in touch with after requesting the RMA and sending it in. To me their customer support sucks in this area. I wish they'd do something about this. The website they sent you to never updates. It shows the same step.

Other Thoughts: MSI needs to step up their customer service or they are gonna start losing customers
