GIGABYTE GA-F2A85X-UP4 FM2 AMD A85X (Hudson D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: So I went to this event where AMD was giving away free CPU's I wasn't one of the ones that got a mobo (unfortunately) but after talking to many people I decided to go with the gigabyte. Most of what I heard about them was good reviews and reliability. I've had the computer for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it!! If you have an FM2 mobo you should definitely go with this board as it is everything you need for any situation. This computer is my main computer so I go to it for some gaming and once in a while some work related apps.

Cons: I didn't get a free mobo

Pros: This board has been great thus far, nothing has failed yet, there was a manual that was actually written in English by English speaking people ( and separate manuals for other languages of course). Pictures in the manual would make putting this together easy for anybody and theres a ton of information on everything you would need. plenty of Sata adapters, fan plug ins, PCI, PCI E and all the connections you could possibly want. I'm really enjoying this board, like somoene else has said the BIOS looks great and has an actual GUI and not some DOS based look.

Cons: Only thing I've found thus far was when i first installed windows ( had the wrong disk, was 32 bit wanted 64 ) my CD drive that i used to load windows wouldn't recognize the disk with the chip-set drivers.. unsure of why this occurred. But when i loaded up win 7 64 bit, this time around i made sure to load the disk first and foremost and it loaded fine and resolved ALL the unrecognized devices related to the MB. Also one other CON is the way the bulk of the SATA connections were oriented, not a huge deal though as i don't really unplug them often.

Other Thoughts: If you don't like the default BIOS loading screen just because its not the usual black scree with white flickering text you're so used to you can disable it.. but even then its an odd red logo that i disliked even more with no text : (

Pros: This is a great motherboard.

Cons: None.

Pros: Great looking board. Added AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic ... Love the combination. This was my first build. Also added a Seagate 2Tb Hard drive. Using this for an every day computer. Very dependable and extremely quick. Using with Windows 7. Great buy.

Cons: None.

Pros: This is a great board all around and it more then meets my needs. This board replaced a failed Biostar motherboard which only lasted three weeks. The BIOS is visually the best one I've ever worked with. Normally what you see is a very basic old school DOS look. This board raised the bar.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Worth the money.

Pros: Looks cool.

Cons: DOA. DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Lame. Waited 5 days for a dead Mobo.

Pros: very easy to install, love the bios interface, booted right up without errors.

Cons: would like to see onboard firewire 800/400 ports for this type of motherboard. I am now going to install a firewire card, so not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: i'm using an amd apu-10 5800k, though i don't think i'll need to overclock, i wanted to buy intel but this was alot more affordable though not as fast

Pros: Quality board with all the connection choices you could ask for right now.
Running twin Raptors in Raid1 with very fast speeds.
Sadly unlike RST you cannot install the OS on one drive and then mirror, it is better to set up before OS install.
AMD raid is working fine but not as flexible as RST.

Cons: None so far although the bottom SATA port is 0 which is strange, I was expecting the first 6 to be 0-6 and the bottom to be port 7.
Had to disable cool and quiet to install default AMD GPU drivers, I struggled with this issue until I tried the above mentioned.
If you are having trouble with any blue screens disable cool and quiet when installing drivers and then enable it later.

Other Thoughts: The bios that came with the board did not allow any profile of the 1866 Crucial memory I bought. The latest Fk3 beta does.
Still waiting for a "official" bios.
First AMD system I have made a build with since the original Athlon Thunderbird. Safe to say the A10 blows it completely away.
For a base system for light gaming and being on the net this board is really nice and barely consumes any watts.
I am impressed, under $300 for a full system of this power is very nice.
I did toss the OEM heatsink and get copper based OEM from the top FX chips which keeps the temps in the mid 70's at idle.

Pros: Looks great!
Has lots of sata cables.
Crossfire!
Legacy Slots

Cons: Can't be SLI'd, I mean i see why aha.

Pros: bad board

Cons: mine was defective per gigabyte

Other Thoughts: gigabyte confirmed it was a bad board
