5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Motherboard

Pros: Been an amazing motherboard. I've owned this product for over a year now and have not had a single issue with it. Great feature set, love the dual bios, LED readout, really just everything about this board, it is amazing. Even now with Haswell being such a "meh" product launch, if you're locking a Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge CPU, this is the motherboard to get.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsRead to get a good idea what your up for

Pros: Nice lay out on board piece. and easy to install. 3d bios makes things easier for people who may not know what they are doing, but gives the option of hitting F1 to go to advance for us who like more options and the older layout. comes with a front bay for the computer to add 2 more 3.0 USB.. Overall this board is great price for what you get and would recommend it based on those things, as well as the easy to tweak it throught the bios settings.

Cons: Got a defective board. ive used intel boards, EVGA, boards and now this. the worse expirence i ever had with a motherboard. loaded windows on my hard drive and the system would boot but would not boot if i added another hard drive thanks to UEFI function. Also had issue og going to sleep and not waking which was fixed with the bios update. Then tons of bios issues after that. would reboot several times before actually getting to load windows. had issues that when you selected a boot option(hard drive priority) and changed and hit the save and exit; it did not save it at all, but other options would save such as if i wanted rapid start technology turned on. after updating the bios i no longer could used a mouse in 3D mode but i could use it under advance settings fine.
I tried several things . replacing my video card and trying ram , power supply etc. gave up and called Newegg who said there is no refund on this board only a replacement. Thanks to the supervisor (Gabriel) they were able to help me out. althougth im disappointed in Gygabytes board and so happy newegg is willing to help me out after getting a damage case and broken video card through them im now in the waiting process to see if they will really help me get my money back, because if not newegg is off my list i will go somewhere else.

Other Thoughts: I gave the board 1 egg becuase most poeple look at all the cons to a mother board with 1 egg so they know what there going to buy. the board isnt bad and people who complain about DOA and other things like it fried after a year; i feel these are not things you should base your decision off of since it could happened to anyone. only time i would is if its a consitent issue where 50% people are getting defective items.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

The UEFI BIOS will auto detect your hard drive boot partition for loading your OS. If you have mulitple bootable hard drives you must set the Hard Drive Boot priority. Otherwise the UEFI BIOS will auto detect and choose the best drive to boot. Each time you add a hard drive, or switch to a different hard drive to boot, the UEFI BIOS will reconfigure, and thus your system may appear to reboot serveral times before loading Windows. If you require further assistance, please contact us at newegg-support@gigabyte-usa.com with the case number 2013061402 in the subject line. We will provide personalized service and analysis to help solve your issue as soon as possible.

2 out of 5 eggsMaybe I've done something wrong

Pros: Has good layout, works with my very large heatsink

Cons: I'm on the third motherboard now and still having issues. First one cycled debug codes and would restart itself. second one started frying (literally) my video card - there is now a bulge on the top of the card. third and current ga-z77x has a myriad of other issues.
The onboard sound is laggy (kind of steps over itself and is unbearable to listen to), and I can only get 4 of 6 usb ports to work on the back. The two that do work seem to reset my devices each time i restart the computer (i.e. reinstalling my wireless adapter each time it boots, resetting my g510 keyboard profiles, making the mouse cursor jump to the top of the screen until I unplug it and put it back in). The front usb ports work fine.
I've installed all the drivers and updated those I can through Gigabyte. Am I overlooking something or is this just extremely bad luck three times?

Other Thoughts: I used to love Gigabyte motherboards, I don't think I'll be purchasing anymore.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Pleased

Pros: Very easy to setup and configure, the BIOS is amazing and very easy to manage, was easy to overclock, and there is an abundance of ports.

Cons: Only one con so far but it is impossible to overlook it. Whenever my computer goes to sleep and i try to wake it using the keyboard or the power button the fans simply spin and then stop. I read some forums and it said that the motherboard cannot wakeup from p3 (or when the fans stop spinning) sleep with a usb device and that you must use the power button. Neither one of these options work on my computer and I have to unplug my power cable and plug it back in to get the motherboard to power on again. I thought it could be my psu so I did the paperclip technique and it worked fine.

5 out of 5 eggsWoW, WORTH IT!

Pros: I'll tell ya what, this thing is worth every penny you could pay. Pared with a 560 Ti from Gigabyte... Runs like a beast... nothing has yet to bring it to it's knees.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Buy it you know you want to.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Motherboard

Pros: Everything was conveniently labeled, Easy installation, BIOS is great, more ports than I could ever use. Dual ethernet ports is amazing for building a server. USB 3.0 is awesome.

Cons: Only one (and it may be because of a bad OS install): The server fails to restart. The OS shuts down, and the HDDs stop, but the computer stays on. I have to force a reset with either the power button or reset switch. but again, this may be because of a bad OS install.

Other Thoughts: Awesome. Recommended to two people already who loved it!
