108dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio Playback

GIGABYTE motherboards feature higher capability audio solutions with 108dB Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) playback quality to deliver high-performance, multi-channel HD audio. SNR is a comparison of the amount of signal to the amount of noise - such as hiss - present in the signal (expressed in Decibels). A higher SNR equals a better audio experience. For example, 108dB, is a high audio specification, as this means the audio signal is 108dB higher than the level of the noise.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 18 months

Pros: Worked sufficiently for 18 months

Cons: Died suddenly today when the monitor, keyboard, and mouse no longer responded while the machine was powered on. Everything appears to be made like garbage today, dont let anyone tell you this is normal because it isnt. I previously had an old Dell where the hardware lasted for 10 years. Having a motherboard die is not supposed to happen.

Other Thoughts: Remember the G in Gigabyte stands for garbage. Last time I purchase their products through newegg.

2 out of 5 eggsNot really Ultra Durable...

Pros: Board can handle 8 hard disks

Cons: Board started to malfunction after a year, not booting up in morning when temperature was below 18 degrees... It was still working good once booted and warmed up with a heater... and freezing if opened during the next night...
- Took Gigabyte at least 1 month to send the RMA, and I was lucky I have seen the status of the RMA before they send it back to me... Tested in California over 20 degrees and they found no issues... Got a refurbished in return after complaining about that status at the service care

Other Thoughts: Since Gigabyte is having such a poor support to customers (Slow RMA + Refurbished exchanges)... I will now be putting Gigabyte on the side for next purchases and will be looking for ASUS, EVGA and MSI products...

2 out of 5 eggsReason why I wait

Pros: Powerful motherboard, easy to use and configure.

Cons: The tech support has had a ticket from me for 4 days and has not responded. I have called twice and left messages on their voicemail. My motherboard after a year has developed a issue with the on board thermostats. It reads three when I power from a cold boot, but reads two with waking from sleep. It has caused undue stress on the cooling fans and saps the power. I have updated the bios but no good. Very upset with Gigabyte right now. Fear I will have to buy another board as they are not responding. Not right for a board with 3 year warranty!

Other Thoughts: Not recommending Gigabyte anything to anyone at this point. Why should I? If they don't care about their product, why should we?

1 out of 5 eggs6 Months! Yay. Then it failed. Boo.

Pros: This was a great motherboard for 6 months. On the plus side, its failure did push me to replace my power supply and CPU cooler with much higher quality.

Cons: Sadly, it is now 6 months and one week. This week it locks up in the BIOS screen showing a nice cool CPU.

Other Thoughts: I am undecided on the recommend. It depends on if Gigabyte shows up here with an RMA.

3 out of 5 eggsWas great while it worked!

Pros: - Inexpensive motherboard with plenty of features.
- No shortage of connectivity, and faster USB charging is a great feature.

Cons: - USB 3.0 controller died within a week of having a front-panel USB 3.0 header plugged in.
- Main CPU fan controller died within 2 months... let's just say it's a good thing I have good case cooling.

Other Thoughts: - I no longer can recommend this product to others, as having 2 different things die after such a short time doesn't earn my recommendation.

- Also, Gigabyte's RMA system is old-age and generally awful. You have to request an RMA (which takes 2 days to be reviewed) and once it gets approved you have to ship it on your dime (as in you have to go to UPS or whichever and set up the shipment, it's not like Newegg where you just pay and they give you the label to print), plus from what I've heard the turnaround time is very slow. Going to go with a different brand for my future builds.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid budget mobo

Pros: Duel bios, hard to mess up a bios update. The onboard audio is amazing. AM3+ ready unlike previous revisions.

Cons: DDR3 Ram, and the Ram slots are pretty close to the processor. If you plan on installing a bulky fan&heatsink combo, make sure to install ram first.

Other Thoughts: It's definitely reliable, and it holds up the "durable" portion of the advertisement. Again, the only real problem is this board is not DDR4 capable, but you get what you pay for. Overall excellent board, and would recommend for 8000 series 8 core AMDs.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is awesome!

Pros: Great features. Haven't had any problems with it (Nor with any other gigabyte product!)

Cons: The Mosfets run really hot. On HWMonitor I have a couple temp readings. One is the CPU running at around 70C under full load. The other runs passed 90C! I believe this is my mosfets... They seem to do a very good job at surviving this temperatures as I've had no issues even at these very high temps.

Other Thoughts: The temps are definitely a concern for me... but not much I can do. I've head about retrofitting cases and putting a fan directly on it, but I don't think this should be necessary. Still a very nice looking, and well features motherboard though!

5 out of 5 eggsConnected

Pros: Looking for an economy build this is the board to purchase. Used this board in a client's build and he is very pleased with the computer. Pair this board with a six core AMD processor and you will have a great build. Recommend that you do not used the stock AMD fan with this motherboard (purchase one that has more air displacement) they tend to not do the job required to let this motherboard work well.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: Great price for a motherboard of this quality.

5 out of 5 eggsGigabyte knows how to make a motherboard

Pros: -I love my Gigabyte motherboard.
-Very thorough BIOS.

Cons: -No cons.

Other Thoughts: -I did have to enable the "IOMMU Controller" in the BIOS for my 64-bit Linux Mint OS to detect the network adapter and the USB 3.0 ports. This took a little bit of research because the included documentation does not indicate that, so be aware.
