GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: AMD - Cheap, worked as advertised

Cons: Unfortunately, bought this 8/24/2010 and over the last several months, I've had random blue screens, video card related issues. Well, after swapping out 3 video cards, running memtest, the problem still exists and it appears to be the motherboard. I read that other reviewers noted they also had video troubles stemming from the board.

Other Thoughts: Frustrating to diagnose. Counting on the RMA.

Pros: lets just say im an AMD fan and i luv newegg! before i buy a new board i figured i'd leave a little review of my experience with it.. although it works fine for me theres several things wrong with this board:

Cons: 1. i have a geforce 660 gtx which i plan on adding SLI in the future BUT stated in the manual, one PCI-E performs at 16x while the other performs at 4x, and that 4x slot shares bandwith with the PCI-E 1x which is where my Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card is.. SLI would make the sound card not operate and the sound card doesnt work in a regular PCI slot

2. although i havent had trouble with the raid controller, the one provided by gigabyte is not very good at all and not only that, the SATA connectors are placed in a awkward position on the board which makes it hard to SLI two long video cards.. REMOVING them is even more of a hassle

3. the overclocking capabilities is not very good at all.. im speaking about the voltage increments since its very limited and makes overclocking very frustrating

4. the gigabyte software provided with it conflicts with many online games anti-cheat protection like gameguard or nprotect and can get u banned from some online games if its not closed from the system tray

5. while starting my computer and booting to windows 7 i've noticed the power to my keyboard and mouse temporarily shuts off and then back on.. i know this is not a PSU issue because i already replaced my old one with a Corsair HX750.. the cause is most likely the USB

Other Thoughts: if you wanted to SLI or you have several hard drives or SSD and want to do a RAID configuration i recommend you dont get this board.. the newer gigabyte boards also seem to have the same problems

Pros: Average

Cons: Tried numerous boards and video cards and kept getting video crashes. Piece of junk

Pros: Was great while it "worked".

Cons: Started having issues after a few months. USB ports started dying, tons of Windows 7 blue screens, just awful. Resolved issue with a new motherboard from another vendor. Been solid since. Guess I was one of the unlucky buyers.

Pros: It worked out of the box and was easy to setup.

Cons: Within the last 2 months the board has gotten really flaky. I have a 50/50 chance of booting past the bios when starting up and it's also recently decided that it doesn't like USB devices plugged in while booting.

Oh, and Gigabyte's website is absolutely horrible.

Other Thoughts: Honestly, a motherboard should last more than 2 years. Bad form Gigabyte!

Pros: I have had this card for over 2 years and have not had 1 problem. The only reason I may change it is because I am thinking about upgrading video card and it might not be compatible

Pros: When it worked it was great and computer ran very smoothly and I was impressed

Cons: After a month or so I began experiencing random crashes of applications and blue screens of death. There was nothing in event logs so I began trouble shooting. I reinstalled windows, replaced the hard drive, replaced the memory, and replaced the video card and the issue continued. A year into this process the on board NIC stops working so I RMA the motherboard explaining the NIC problem and the crashing. I go without a computer for a few weeks (hard to do for and IT\Gamer guy) and get it back and the crashes are still happening just as frequently. On the plus side the NIC now works so when it inst crashing I can get on the internet. I always thought Gigabyte was a good brand and I bought this motherboard specifically for the warranty and guarantee and that seems to have gotten me no where. I guess i will have to give up and pay for another motherboard, since they didn't fix it like they were supposed to.

Pros: I have had this for almost 2 years and Not one issue.

Pros: was a nice board

Cons: its dead only lasted a couple years.... i have another board very similiar in the pc im typing on.....hmm how much longer does she have left

Other Thoughts: mainboards die but come on 2 years.....
