3 out of 5 eggsDecent board, but quality issues

Pros: Boots up

Cons: I would blue screen if my memory was in slots 1 and 3 (dual channel), but works fine in 1 and 2, 2 and 3 and 2 and 4 (dual channel).

Other Thoughts: Didn't feel like waiting to get a new one shipped back and I only have 4gb of RAM so I just kept it. Just be aware (as others have noted) that Gigabyte has quality control issues with this board.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good solid board. Decent price. Ram flexibility. The rebate finally arrived!!

Cons: Experienced some hang ups during start up. It doesn't seem to happen every time but it can be very annoying. I still think its a good board but I took off two eggs instead of one because of gigabytes pathetic tech support with the issue.

1 out of 5 eggsNot DOA, but what a piece!!

Pros: This board has great features for the money.
- 8 SATA
- 16 GB max support
- Lots of fan supplies
- Nice layout
- Looks great!

Cons: The board sucks! When I ordered it I just ignored the 1 egg reviews (thinking they just got unlucky), and looked at the good reviews. This was a mistake!

The board wasn't DOA. It POSTed fine, installed windows, drivers, etc..., and then the system would just shut down. It wouldn't turn back on for hours. I installed PC Wizard (to stress processors and monitor temp), switched the PSU, etc... and no problems (temps never got above 42).

I finally returned the board after reading several reviews that had similar issues, and got a BIOSTAR instead. My system rocks now!

Luckily my board sucked right out of the box, and not 30+ days later. Go newegg! Go BIOSTAR!

Other Thoughts: This was my first PC build, and the process was fairly frustrating due to this board. I will definitely pay more attention to the negative reviews in the future.

This board isn't worth the risk.

5 out of 5 eggsgigabyte

Pros: First one did not boot. But Newegg replaced it in no time...outstanding service. The second one works like a charm. Has more BIOS adjustments that i can use. But they are there in case I get brave. It also has everything anyone would want...its fast and runs cool.

Cons: I recognize things sometimes go wrong. But Gigabyte is a tops manufacturer and I trust them.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great Mobo, stable with no issues. Running Vista Ultimate 64 with a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield and G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 The extra layer of copper make the board feel very sturdy and solid. Easy to configure.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsiGigabyte

Pros: Runs OSX86 vanilla and updates to version 10.5.8 (latest at the moment). Overclocks easily. Good heat dissipation. Rock solid at 3.2 Mhz with Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 (rated at 2.83 Mhz). At normal load it is running about 47C (room temperature 24C). Super fast delivery from Newegg.

Cons: Had a little trouble with network connectivity in OSX but no problems with Windows XP. OZCZ DDR3 1600 SDRAM not achieving rated speed on this board but I might have setting issues.

Other Thoughts: Good choice for OSX. Running dual boot OSX and Windows XP plus virtualized Windows XP with Parallels. So far so good. About twice as fast as my Macbook and maybe three times the speed of my Mac Mini. Don't forget to purchase OSX and label the system with an apple.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great Mobo for the price

Cons: I can't figure out how to change the FSB in the bios, but I used the dumby overclock program that came with it to push my intel quad core from 2.83 ghz to 3.44 ghz - runs stable w prime 95 and doesnt get above 59 degrees at full load - so I guess thats good enough for me.

5 out of 5 eggsEP45C-UD3R

Pros: Great motherboard. Worked right out of the box. Lots of overclocking features. Running in stock mode, temps are 35C no load to 50C under load. In depth user manual. Option of using DDR2 or 3 memory. Shows 4gigs of RAM instead of 3 something. Windows experience index went to 5.9. Definitely recommended.

Cons: Beware with the Bios upgrade. Recent bios upgrade to F5d caused blue screens, reboots and no S3 wake up using KB or mouse. Very very unstable. Downgraded to F2, now the system is stable as rock.

Other Thoughts: Using with Q9550, OCZ reaper DDR2 1066 4Gb, EVGA 9800GT, PS Silencer 500W, HSF Katana II, Antec case, Vista Ultimate 32 bit

4 out of 5 eggsThe usual Gigabyte MoBo...

Pros: As advertized. Quality built board. All the features you could wish for. This is my twelve Gigabyte motherboard. They work or they don't and don't bother with tech support because it's so convoluted that you'll give up. However, 90% of the time, they are no problem mobo's with lots of features for the price so it's worth giving it a shot. This one delivers and I recommend it.

Cons: Automatic overclocking does not work. Even at the mildest setting Windows freezes on start-up. Maximum of 4 Gig DDR3 RAM.

Other Thoughts: I have a love-hate relationship with Gigabyte going on for a good ten years now. If only their tech support could match the quality of their boards....
