1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy

Pros: When it works, displayport is wonderful.

Cons: Adding a second monitor to my setup, I decided to go with DP since I was just curious about the format. Due to all of the poor reviews, I bought two of these cables just in case. BOTH suffer from horrible flicker issues (screen flicks black at least once every two minutes) and are flimsy as all getout.

Other Thoughts: All I wanted was a DP-to-DP cable that isn't fifteen feet long and doesn't have 50% of its reviews giving 1 egg. For some reason, this cable is the only one newegg is stocking at the moment, and it is of absurdly low quality.

I'm going to buy a video card with two DVI outputs now so I don't have to deal with this. Perhaps that was Newegg's plan all along...

5 out of 5 eggsIts a Cable

Pros: It works - hince 5 eggs. Trons go in one end, then out the other.

Cons: This unit has a locking feature you may or may not care for, something to be aware of.

Other Thoughts: its a cable - it works. Decent price (box stores want something like $60.00 for one of these....no wonder they are going out of business) 'nuff said.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Used with DVI and mini-DP adapters and had no problems.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Used as a service cable until I found a mini-DP to DP cable I wanted for my monitor. It's now been relegated to backup/spare status.

2 out of 5 eggsBought Two, One Worked

Pros: Second cable worked.

Cons: Picked this cable because of Free Shipping and low price. After reading the deplorable reviews on the reliability of these cables, I hedged my bets and bought two cables, in case one was bad. And that's exactly what happened. The first cable I plugged in worked fine for about 10 minutes. After which, the monitor would flicker black for a split second then come back. I've been using the second cable now for several hours and it hasn't flickered a single time.

Other Thoughts: I plan to return the defective cable on Monday.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: None

Cons: Defective, Poor Signal Quality

Other Thoughts: Like other, i decided to give this product the benefit of the doubt. I'm glad this product cost under $20.00 because the Nippon Display Port cable was dead on arrival. My next Display Port cable will come from a more reputable manufacturer.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality right to the end

Pros: One might say price, but I've found less expensive.

Cons: Very poor build quality, couldn't pass signal unless I fiddled with it. Too bulky, kept unpluging itself. This issue was somewhat resolved when the casing around one side fell off. While this enabled the cable to work, the screen would often flicker on and off. All told though this was a very temporary fix, as later in the day the cable completely fell apart, leaving the connector stuck in the socket.

Other Thoughts: I would say lesson learned, but I've bought a cheaper one that is better built and works fine. I would just say don't get this one.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

Pros: Not much.

Cons: Did not work. Cheap clips.

Other Thoughts: Resulted in flickering in the monitor. I am now running Eyefinity with a different displayport cable because the Nippon one would not stay on for longer then 1-2 seconds without going black. I wasn't sure that it was the cable when I got it, but just got a new DP cable in the mail and everything works fine.

1 out of 5 eggsbroke

Pros: worked for about 5 minutes

Cons: Connected it, as far as i could tell it worked. and then the end that was connected to the video card completely shattered at the slightest tug of the cord from accidently hitting it with my foot. very cheaply made

Other Thoughts: from what I can tell there isnt much difference between display port and dvi. going to stick with dvi

4 out of 5 eggsBuy an extra one

Pros: Good length, black. I've bought at least 10 of these cables for our office, and so far only received one bad one, so I'll go ahead and rate this at 4 eggs.

Cons: When you've got a bad one, you know it's bad. With mine, first the monitor wasn't detected, so I tried unplugging and plugging it back in, and the cable end connector literally fell apart in my hands, leaving bare exposed wires.

Other Thoughts: Overall I've been lucky with these, but if you need one, buy two, just in case you get a DOA one like so many other reviewers have.
