1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Cheap price. Thick cables

Cons: Doesn't work at all. I bought 3 of these and none work. I tried two different motherboards and nothing. I know it's not the motherboard because I used another brand esata bracket that worked fine. Not worth spending the money on shipping to return for a refund.

Other Thoughts: I generally read reviews before I purchase something, this time I didnt. I wont make that mistake again.

1 out of 5 eggsPut me in the DOA (2xs) column

Pros: n/a

Cons: DOA - Replaced - DOA (again)
May be a t3400 isssue with this connector, but other eSata works (single) and neither port works on this. Tried shortening the connector on 2nd one as length was a problem in some blogs but no joy.

1 out of 5 eggsConnectors are defective

Pros: None as it does not work.

Cons: The bracket does not work. The problem is with the bracket's sata connectors that connect to the motherboard. The pins in the connector are flattened so that they do not make contact with the sata connector on the motherboard. How do I know this? Because I have another esata bracket and another sata bracket that both work fine plugged into the sata ports on my motherboard. Upon examination under a lighted magnifier I discovered the flattened pins in both sata connectors. Upon examining the working brackets, their pins are raised allowing connection to the contacts on the motherboard's sata connectors. Someone forgot to test these things before shipping.

Other Thoughts: Newegg was great providing me with reasonable options in replacing this esata bracket. I am totally satisfied with Newegg's customer satisfaction. I will be replacing the brack with a different brand. Until someone can confirm that the manufacturing glitch has been resolved, stay away from this esata bracket!

1 out of 5 eggsFail!

Pros: Inexpensive. At first glance, seemingly well-built

Cons: D.O.A.

Other Thoughts: I bought N82E16812226003 as a replacement. Better reviews...we'll see if it works.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I did not have an eSATA port on my MoBo. So, this would have been nice. I could have used the eSATA port on my external hard drive to back up files from my PC.

Cons: DOA. never worked.

Other Thoughts: waste of money.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Didn't work out of the bag. DOA.
Ordered 3 different brand SATA to eSATA brackets (see Other Thoughts) in case any turns out bad. Glad I did! This one turned out defective.

Other Thoughts: Ordered same type of bracket from 3 brands:
APEVIA eSATA15DP (Item N82E16812201015)
Nippon Labs ESATAB-2P (Item N82E16812816068)
KINGWIN ESAC-02 (Item N82E16812226003)
Apevia worked great. In line with other users' reviews.
Nippon Labs didn't work out of the bag. DOA.
Kingwin, not tested yet, but looks identical to Apevia.

4 out of 5 eggsMight have worked if I had esata ports

Pros: Nice construction. Unlike others my connectors are securely fastened even when pushing on them.

Cons: See other thoughts...

Other Thoughts: Well something I didnt know about esata when I ordered this is that you cant just plug this into a regular sata port and expect it to work. You might get lucky and have it work, but if you look at the spec for the power provided to the ports of sata vs esata the esata will be slightly higher to account for longer cables and timing differences. I always woundered why some mobos had esata marked ports internally... thats why. So you might get lucky and have your ports provide enough power... I wasnt so lucky on the mobo I bought this for.
