CABLES UNLIMITED Model USB-1475-06 USB to Parallel DB25 Female Printer Cable

Pros: Eventually got it to work for my HP Deskjet 820cse on my Windows 7 64bit computer

Cons: Took awhile to get working, was about to return it.

Required locating and installing a custom patch containing spooler DLLs specifically for HP deskjets with 64 bit windows.

Required setting up two drivers, one for the printer and one for the adapter itself.

Not plug and play.

Pros: cheap

Cons: did not work with Win7, HP Deskjet 720c. Would cost more to return, so toss a fin out the door for this cheap cable. Don't waste your time and money.

Pros: None.

Cons: Simply does not work with a Samsung ML-1740 Laser printer. Updated drivers from provided CD, got same drivers online. Can not give Zero eggs which this deserves although I give myself one for trying to be cheap.

Computer build is only 1 year old, Windows 7 64 OS

Manufacturer is going out business per their own website.

I am going to spend a few bucks more and try the
SABRENT Model SBT-UPPC 5 ft. USB to Parallel ( Printer IEEE 1284 ) Cable.

Pros: Easy Driver Install, Fast Printing.

The Driver Disk is a Mini CD placed inbetween the Cardboard insert of the packaging, so be careful not to throw away with rest of packaging.

Pros: Worked perfectly to breathe new life into an old Laserjet 1100.

Cons: Slow download of Windows 7 drivers from chipset mfr.

Other Thoughts: New PC had no Parallel port. Used this cable + original parallel cable to connect LJ1100.

Pros: Works with XP 32bit. I am now able to put of buying a replacemnt printer for awhile.

Cons: A bit of a trial to install the drivers, but works fine once installed.

Pros: Cheap. But, too bad it does not work.

Cons: Company lies about Vista 64 support, and as stated, will accept no phone support calls. Email remains unanswered. Driver download has a Vista64 directory, and it installs, but Vista refuses to load. How could they be so stupid as to ship without even testing?

Other Thoughts: Mine is going back for return. Total time wasted including 2 trips to the store AND trying to find a work around; approximately 4 hours!

Cons: No Vista 64 driver support for Intel processors. .inf file only lists AMD64

Other Thoughts: As the previous reviewer stated - no verifiable Vista 64 driver support - at least for an Intel processor. Good luck

Cons: As of 11/1/08, Vista 64 drivers are unsigned and so will not activate without disabling driver verification. Cables Unlimited claims Vista compatibility, but without signed drivers this statement shouldn't be made. Company offers no phone support.
