5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tool

Pros: Works just as advertised. My laptop recognized the drive and I was transferring files in no time.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I haven't used the IDE interface so I can't attest to its performance one way or the other. As has been stated it does have a sort of flimsy feel but for the price I'm not going to complain.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not waste your money

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Didn't work out of the box, power connector was very flimsy. USB Adapter felt like it was made out of extremely brittle plastic. Whole construction feels really cheap. Would not recommend this to anyone.

Other Thoughts: I normally don't write reviews, but the fact that I am out the money for return shipping for something that is clearly not tested or designed for practical usage is annoying. Be warned.

2 out of 5 eggsfaulty power supply

Pros: worked when I bypassed the power supply that was supplied

Cons: after 2 hours of it connecting and disconnecting constantly, I used and old computers power supply and it came on and stayed connected

1 out of 5 eggsMikeF

Pros: Shiny

Cons: Will only see the SATA drives. Tried 12 different IDE drives and none showed on WIN & & WIN XP. Have tried different pin settings on IDE's with no luck.

Other Thoughts: Lucky it wasn't expensive.
Will try using an old external hard drive enclosure that uses an IDE interface. Really all I was looking for a device to power up an IDE to transfer to my PC that doesn't have IDE inputs.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive.

Cons: 4-pin female power connection had 1 pin misaligned and metal contact was bent, which prevented unit from being useful. Construction is cheap. You get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work, not recognized by computer

Pros: unknown

Cons: This item did not work. First, there was a shard of plastic in the USB connector, which has to be fished out to make use the connector. Second, the computer did not recognize it (Windows 7, USB 2.0). Mfg offers warranty return but not worth the trouble, esp. considering other reports of early failures of "good" units and fried drives.

3 out of 5 eggsCouldn't Try it Out

Pros: * Able to read SATA & IDE drives via USB.

Cons: * Power Adapter DOA.
* Can't use.

Other Thoughts: * $10 to RMA ship back a defective $18 item. Not happy.
* Giving 3 Eggs since 1 and 2 are way too low for not being able to use it.

5 out of 5 eggsUnbelievable.

Pros: Simple to use, self-explanatory design. You can set it up in less than a minute. I know there are probably equally good products out there, but this one did the job I needed and it worked perfect. 5 stars.

Cons: I don't think there are any.
