4 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit

Pros: Great price, rack-mountable, long power cable, 10 outlets, and they just work... did I mention the great price?!?

Cons: As others have stated, the packing is sub-par, even for an inexpensive unit such as this. I had 2 of the 5 units I've bought come in with the power switch cover broken, or the rack-mount ears bent. All have still been functional though, which speaks well of the build quality of these units.

They don't come with any mounting hardware any longer. The first one I bought several years ago came with a standard square nut and screw mounting kit. I had to buy a screw/nut kit separately in order to mount the rest.

Other Thoughts: The cons mentioned above are the only reason I give this unit 4 eggs... and that is mainly due to the packaging. I can forgive a company not supplying mounting hardware for a unit like this, but the packaging need improvement without question.

These units are great if you don't have high power demand (a-la a full rack of servers), but rather only a few servers to take care of. I wouldn't put these in an environment where you'd need feedback from the PDU's. These are dumb units, with no feedback to tell you how much power is being consumed, not way to interface with it to cycle power on an individual outlet, etc. etc. etc. Knowing all that, if you just need a simple PDU for a small setup, these are outstanding!

5 out of 5 eggsCyber Power - just like the name says

Pros: Solid rackmountable power strip with plenty of outlets for a fairly small setup. Very well built for the price.

Cons: None. (Sure, there's no surge protection, but I didn't want to spend the extra 20 bucks for that. I just plugged it into a surge protector....)

Other Thoughts: Unlike other reviewers, this unit had no bent tabs, arrived in mint condition, quick shipment even using standard rate.

5 out of 5 eggsRackmount convinience

Pros: Rack mountable, A lot of outlets, no heat or noise. Also very cool on/off switch

Cons: not a surge protector, but how tough is it to put this on a line where there is one?

Other Thoughts: I wish it was cheaper for something so simple

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Good unit, lots of outlets, cheap compared to APC.

Cons: Switch cover is big, and does not open all the way when mounted next to other equipment.

Other Thoughts: I may have to remove the switch cover, I don't really need it and it gets in the way.

4 out of 5 eggsSpeedy Delivery

Pros: What can I say, it does its job and does it well

Cons: Minus one egg because it arrived with a bent tab as others have reported. Nothing a pliers can't fix, but it'd be nice to see it arrive in mint condition.

Other Thoughts: I just had to post that I ordered this in the middle of the night and it was waiting on my doorstep the very next day. Hats off to both Newegg and UPS for that one!

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It works fine

Cons: Ordered 4 units and 3 came with bent tabs. Nothing that I could not fix before mounting but I want things to show up at my house in great shape. Had to take an Egg away for this reason.

Other Thoughts: I think this was a drop ship from Cyber Power and it was not NewEgg's packaging

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine.

Pros: Has 10 outlets. Most units like this have fewer outlets. Outlets are firm without being hard to insert plugs. Long, heavy power cord. Lit power switch.

Cons: Due to the high plug count, the outlets are close together but not abnormally close. AC power adapters may cover ajacent outlets. You may need power cord extenders.

3 out of 5 eggssurge protection?

Pros: good company with generally quality merchandise

Cons: This, according to Cyberpower website is not a surge protector. Basicall just a basic rackmount power strip

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments regarding the description of this unit. We have now changed the title and description so it is referenced only as a PDU. On a side note, we do have similar models available that have the surge suppression feature you’re looking for - CPS1215RMS, CPS1220RMS. Thanks, CyberPower.
