5 out of 5 eggsThey Should Call it the Big Blowhard

Pros: You could use it to start a 747's jet engines.

Cons: It sounds like a 747's jet engines.

Other Thoughts: I have it blowing half on my graphics card sideways and half into the rest of my case; lowered my GPU temp by about 9C and my Core temp by about 2-3C.

Note: I have my fan completely inside my case to keep it tolerable. If I use it as an intake or exhaust fan, it uses my case as a resonator and gets to the point where you have to shout over it.

My rig:
AMD Propus 635
Biostar mATX TA785G3
4GB Corsair DDR3 1333 PC10666
OCZ 600W PSU (Combo w/ mobo)
NVidia 9500 GT (old, I know)

3 out of 5 eggsIncredible air mover, but loud!

Pros: Nothing else this size moves this amount of air

Cons: Really Loud
Noise is irritating
Thicker than a typical 92 mm fan

Other Thoughts: Reading other reviews gives full warning of how loud this is, but does not give an appreciation for the quality of the noise. It is not just a "whooshing" from the air flow. Their is a huge amount of irritating bearing noise and slowing the fan down does not lower the noise level appreciably. Never, ever buy these fans for a HTPC!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Well constructed and moves alot of air.

Cons: I can not bear to be in the same room with this fan running on 12v.

Other Thoughts: This fan runs great with the wires moved from the 12v side of the connecter to the 5v side or the connecter modified to plug in upside down. The noise levels are reasonable and it still pushes a ton of air.

5 out of 5 eggsMy oh my

Pros: Move an awesome amount of air. Now when I say 'awesome' I mean it literally. The amount of air this thing move is awe inspiring. I have it set in the back of my case right above my GPU, it dropped temps by ~10c which is awesome because my room is so warm.

Cons: Yes the noise is a bit bothersome, BUT THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED IT SAYS SO IN THE SPECS. The noise doesn't take long to get used to though.

I had it plugged into zalman fan controller (cheap one, its like $7 on here), the fan was spinning but maybe at like 1/10 what it could be, but its working full speed now, so it was most likely the controller that was at fault.

Other Thoughts: I was able to play WaW at decent settings and stay at or below 60c.
Lowest Idle temp I've seen so far for my gpu is 38c, which considering the average daily tempreture in my room is about 80F and the lowset recorded before I got the fan was 37c and that was in the dead of winter...in Iowa. So I am very impressed with this.

Specs and temperature drop:
Q8300 > 8-10c
9600GT > 10-12c
Hard Drive > 3-4c
ram (in estimation) > 5-6c kinda hard to tell, my thermal scanner has gotten a little buggy the last couple of months.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate: Bought Another 1 Anticamper 2/9/2009 10:25:46 AM

Pros: This thing still blows like a tornado. I have had them for as long as 3 years and they all work great.

Cons: Loud

Other Thoughts: These reviews need to stop docking a fan like this from being loud. If you read the specs you'll find : "Noise Level 56.4 dBA". for those of you who wonder how loud that is, alot of the normal fans are around 20-25 and they are audible. I hope reviewers on the egg will start reviewing products for what they are and not giving bad reviews because of things that are stated in the specs. this fan is an amazing buy if you're looking for the max cfm for a decent price. If you can't handle loud, buy a controller that can handle these fans(not some 5$ cheapo), or research the 5v mod in google. I have now set my sights on 120mm fans that push 240+ cfm O_O

5 out of 5 eggsEpic Fan.

Pros: Insanely Fast. Moves a TON of air.

Cons: A tad bit loud.

Other Thoughts: I put this baby on a scythe heatsink, and together they dropped my cpu temps from 63c to 43c. (Yes, the cpu is oc'd).

Specs:
Q6600 @ 3.0ghz
ASUS P5Q SE PLUS
XFX 9800 GT
OCZ Reaper HPC 2x2GB (DDR2 8500)

2 out of 5 eggsYou can't quite imagine just how loud it is

Pros: Yes it moves a lot of air, just about as much as a good bathroom fan. If you were a bit backed up and wanted to mask the noise while you used the facility that might be a good use for this fan.

Cons: Did I mention it is loud. It is hard to describe just how loud it really is. I had a tornado come so close to my house once that it picked up my picnic table from behind the house and dashed it to pieces on the driveway in front of the house 75 yards away. I recall that being loud but I think a pair of these fans next to you cooling your computer is louder.

Other Thoughts: I bought them locally and returned them immediately. I was not the first to do so the package bears witness to many dissatisfied people.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Pushes alot of air. Used it for a CPU heatsink

Cons: Noisey, but every fan that is high speed will be.

Other Thoughts: Put in on a overclocked CPU after the origanal fan stopped working. Works great.

1 out of 5 eggsNot for me

Pros: Moves air and alot of it

Cons: Ok where to start,by showing the motherboard plug and the specs say it can plug into a 3/4 pin this is a lie it made me believe I could plug it into my motherboard and control the speed. This is not the case all that plug does is allow your bios or windows fan monitoring software to read the speed. This thing must hook up to a molex and runs full speed all the time no way to slow it down.ITS VERY LOUD SO NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THE SPEED IS A PROBLEM.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace the fan on my Rosewill CPU cooler.Planned on running it at about 50 to 60% on a daily basis to keep the noise down and just turning it up for 15 to 30 mins when I put an extended Overclock on my CPU to run benchmarks. This thing is way to loud to leave in running @100% had to put the stock fan back on and just wasted roughly $20 with tax and shipping.
