W00t!! Don't pass this transparent blue game cube by! Sunbeam's UFO case is the ultimate way to show off your gaming rig. The case is designed in two levels, and the atypical layout of your components gives the best display angle, and it provides better cooling. Your full-sized ATX motherboard lays on its side, and 7 expansion cards sit at the side of the case, right in front of the 120 mm fan mount.
On the lower level, there's room for two 5.25" external drives, and two 3.5" internal drives, plus your PSU. Empty Canvas
- Pros: Empty canvas just begging for some modding! HDD cooling can be accomplished with creative fan placement. Interesting layout/design. Sunbeam packages their products well; no scratches and no cracks. Newegg ships even better!
- Cons: Acrylic is NOT for the careless builder! Be patient when you're cutting acrylic, don't force it because acrylic doesn't like to flex. Fingerprints! Dust! Drool! Planning your cable routing can get frustrating, but sleeving the cables helps a lot.
- Other Thoughts: This is my second Sunbeam acrylic case; therefore, I knew what to expect when working with it. After some prep work I used some clearneon uv blue sprayed along edges of the inner side of front,back,top,bottom,left,right sides of case to really make the 3D CUBE shape stand out. Fan/light controllers are a must; as well as cable sleeving. Egads! this was the most fun I've ever had building a pc! Still undecided about hinging top of case.
A better acrylic case has arrive
- Pros: Nicely package, windows everywhere obviously, and you can showcase all the innards of your PC you're proud of. The milky white PCB of my MOBO looks really amazing with this case. MOBO is not mounted directly to the panel compare to some acrylic cases as this thing has a middle deck where the MOBO rest.
- Cons: The thumb screws felt cheap or should I say cheap, you can even nick it easily if you decided to use a screwdriver. The screws that was assigned to be use for PSU mounting doesn't go into the Hiper PSU I'm using; I ended up using the drive mount screws for my PSU. You need to have cans of air ready as dust is really unpleasant with this thing. if this is considered a con, you need to assemble this case for about 30-45mins. it's hard to find a heatsink that will fit with this case that I really like.
- Other Thoughts: Well, the description by newegg is not accurate. The case comes with two 120mm clear case fan with purple lead lights ala UV light colors and not blue lead as what sunbeamtech's site is claiming. I don't know if it's just mine because I saw some pictures from review sites and it shows blue. You also need to plan your wiring for you not to see any snake's nest on your case. As one of the review site said, this is a novelty case for being all about eye candy and looking good.

Cheaper than DIY
- Pros: Costs less then I could find raw materials/tools to DIY for

Good For Cable management
- Cons: -Some parts Delicate, could be stronger: I stripped out 2 MB Mounts (from acrylic) and 1 Card Slot Holder Screw (from aluminum)
-Size: Room for card height/length is at a minimum.
-Difficult to replace HD's once assembled.
- Other Thoughts: I really love this case. Even with Cons I'm giving it 5 Eggs. Price makes up for it.
-Important Note: 8800/9800GT Fits Fine! BUT the 8800GTX/Ultra will not fit!!! (Not without cutting slot in side and holes in top for power)
ALSO: For Water cooling: GPU Full Covers like Danger den will not fit without Cutting top of case as there is <.5cm clearance between full height cards and the top of the case. I finally found the Zalman ZM-GWB8800GT which has barbs on the side rather than the top.
Alien Blue Case
- Pros: Very nice too look at with lots of nerd bling.
- Cons: Overall the case has a very flimsy feel and gives you the impression that it was built with poor quality. The outer screws that hold the case together are very flimsy also. Even though I was able to put it together, this case was very hobby-ish and if it wasn't for all my other experience with putting computer cases together, I wouldn't have been able to use this case. The directions are incomplete and seems like there is a missing page. I had to look at cases other people built to finish mine. Also, I had to improvise a lot to get everything to work. This case is not for beginners!
Dissapointed
- Pros: Looks nice, seems well built.
- Cons: Try to fit a high end video card into it. There's just no room. I'm going to have to return it.
- Other Thoughts: I don't recommend this product. If only they gave it 2 more inches width and height.
