SILVERSTONE Sugo Series SG06BB-450 ALL Black Aluminum / SECC Mini-ITX Desktop Computer Case with SFX 450W 80+ Bronze Certified / Single +12V rail Power Supply

Pros: I purchased this to replace an Antec ISK 300-150 used as an HTPC. The Antec case was great, except the power supply is only 150W, which isn't enough to support anything but the lowest of the low end video cards. So when I felt it was time to upgrade from the embedded video on the motherboard (Intel DH57JG), I needed to upgrade the power supply as well, which meant a new case too. I also wanted to keep my slimline slot loading DVD/Bluray optical drive, which eliminated a lot of the small form factor cases that only accommodate a half height 5.25 optical drive.

-Nice looking front panel. Reset button in the back.
-USB 3.0 ready
-450W Power supply which is enough to support most video cards. I'm using it with a AMD 6750 GPU based card with no issues.
-Space for a 3.5" drive, which is important if you want to install anything bigger than a 1TB drive (as of 2/2012).
-Fairly quiet with stock fans (120mm and power supply fan).
-Acceptable temperatures with stock cooling
-Small Footpr

Cons: -The front panel LEDs are blindingly bright. I soldered in some 100k resistors to dim them to an acceptable level.
-Some of the gaps are kind of big (where the front panel meets the top cover, and the gap around the slimline drive in the front panel). For almost $150 I expected the tolerances to be better. Nothing horrible, but they could be a bit tighter.
-The power supply wires are way too long.

Other Thoughts: The internal setup of the drives is a bit unorthodox, so that, along with the extra long power supply wires means it will take some time to find the best solution for properly routing the cables for maximum airflow. You might want to download the users manual from the Silverstone site so you can see how it is set up inside ahead of time. I would also suggest getting SATA cables with latches to make sure they don't come loose.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. Given my requirements it was one of only a few cases that would work for me. It is a bit on the expensive side for the build quality and what you get, but it would have cost me even more to buy a less expensive case with a high quality power supply and 5.25 half height DVD/Bluray Drive. The case would be perfect with slightly tighter tolerances, dimmer LEDs, and shorter power supply wires and/or a lower price.

Pros: Case looks good and is small. Friends look at it and say "What!!! That's your computer?" It's a gaming rig that is built with all the right stuff and outperforms most of my friends rigs.

Cons: Price. There are a lot of cases out there that don't cost as much, but if you want a tiny gaming rig, seems like Silverstone has that market on lockdown.

Pros: For a case of this size, the cooling is quite good (but like any tiny case, I wouldn't recommend aggressive overclocking). High quality- no rough edges. It has a good PSU, the case isn't too heavy, and it feels of good quality. Quite sturdy. Quiet. Good looking.

Cons: No thumbscrews (really?) Installation of the Motherboard was a bit fiddly, but understandable from a case of this size. Also, the blue LED indicators could land a small aircraft (so I put some gaff tape on them- easy fix).

Other Thoughts: Might be trouble if you have small hands, and investing in an extra long, thin screwdriver makes life much easier here, as then you can properly use the little screwdriver cutouts (great idea, Silverstone!)

I also wish this one with the 450w PSU came in silver. Oh well.

Pros: Quality product
Great PSU
Fairly easy to work in
Easy to be creative with component placement ;)

Cons: Front chassis issues
Airflow could be better but not a problem really

Other Thoughts: Its a good case. I managed to cram a Corsair H60 into it using a thin Scythe 120 intake fan. Funnily enough, it seems like the H50/60s are able to wedge the HDD up against the side of the case if you zip tie it to the frame correctly.

The case is pretty warm due to the PSU venting onto the mainboard. You can flip the PSU to exhaust though the top. I left it pointing down in hopes that it would reduce my load temps (CPU 45 idle, 60 load right now).

My main gripe is the non-detachable 2.5inch notebook drive case. It gets in the way of the fan somewhat.

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone. The included PSU in your SG06 actually blows air out toward the back. So in your configuration with the PSU fan pointing down, it is sucking air away from the CPU/motherboard area.

Pros: Easy to work with and good construction.
120 mm fan
Support for both an SSD and Hard drive.
Plenty of air movement for Intel's 3.3 Ghz SandyBridge.

Cons: Case fan is a three wire and not a 4 wire so fan speed cannot be controlled by the motherboard. Replaced with a 4 wire fan.
Power supply is not modular so you have to have room to stuff the unused wires in the case.

Other Thoughts: I used this case as a bases for a new computer for my wife and am very please with the response and quietness of her computer.

Pros: Small form factor gaming rig...

Cons: No real cons. Bios showed minimal irregularities with voltages (excluding Vcore) until I connected optical drive to PSU. Requires slimline optical drive, but need to purchase adapter seperately (StarTech 20" Slimline SATA Male to SATA).

Other Thoughts: If you plan to make a gaming rig with this, be prepared to play cable tetris. small form factor + gaming = heat! I suggest upgrading case fan, 1500 rpm stock fan not enough air flow. Watercooling would be sweet, if you got the skills to install it.

Pros: Sleekest version of this case. Can fit medium sized graphics cards and has the 450W PSU which is fantastic. All black.

Cons: Price.

Other Thoughts: This is really just a refaced SG05 and a repainted SG06 with a better PSU. It is a great case, but people need to know it is not any easier or harder to work in than any of the others and absolutely no different from the SG05/06 in terms of actual build and what can fit. I think Silverstone/Newegg is charging too much for this case. A different front should not cost 30 bucks. Sorry, but it is a ripoff. I would still buy this case, but if you have an Sg05/06 this is no change in performance at all. Strictly for looks at a price premium.

Pros: One of the best mini Itx cases I've used for my builds. I originally had an SG05 with the 300 watt psu for a year and a half. The one thing I wish they did was sell one with the 450 watt psu they advertised separately, and now its bundled together. The interior has a pretty good black finish, brushed aluminum faceplate, and the edges are rounded over for the most part. I was able to fit a 6870 into with no trouble.

Cons: The reset button is located on the back of the case and the face panel clips are tricky to get back on once removed but, nothing major.

Other Thoughts: Most clients I show this to ask "That's a computer?" and are amazed by how much you can fit into it. My current configuration:

I had to modify the case to fit the H50 and made a bracket to mount the hard drive on the bottom of the case.I have seen people on forums that have put an i7 860 and a GTX 480, pushing it to an extreme. Excellent product overall.
