Build the ultimate gaming rig with the RAVEN RV02-BW by SilverStone. This full-tower case can accommodate Micro ATX and ATX motherboards. Equip your case with all of the front panel peripherals your system needs, like LCD displays, fan controls and more with five 5.25-inch drive bays. You’ll also be able bulk-up your storage to install all of your games with three 3.5-inch drive bays. The RV02-BW also features eight expansion slots for triple video card installations.

The Raven innovates with its left panel mounting and 90-degree orientation. Heat is no longer vented out the rear of the case, but rather upward where heat is most likely to go. Three bottom-mounted 180mm fans draw fresh air from under the case, cooling your system while the top panel 120mm fan and vented expansion slots release the heat.

Other features include a motherboard back plate opening for convenient CPU heatsink installation. The 3.5-inch bays also feature an updated drive suspension system to minimize drive vibrations when the HDDs spin up. You can also take your system to the limit with water cooling and take advantage of the radiator mounting. Build your gaming system with the Lancool RV02-BW and crush the competition in style!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Case

Pros: Excellent Cable Managment. Great Air flow. Quiet! Support for both high end water cooling AND the latest all in one water coolers like coolit and the H50.

Cons: Massive! this case is very long although not as tall as other full size ATX cases. Power Supply Strap SNAPPED as if it was a rotten twig the first time I put it on..hardly put any pressure on it while tightening it either so it must have been defective.

Other Thoughts: Excellent temps with this case. Currently have a e8500 intel core dual overclocked to 4.2ghz using this case an a coolit water cooler. There are a couple things I could nit pick about (the tooless locking mechnisims are useless) but this case was clearly well thought out otherwise. Easily one of the better ATX cases on the market. The SSD mount is simply beautiful even my son remarked that he liked that. Too bad they didn't provide the same thing for more than one SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Great case. Vertical airflow really helps - quiet and effective cooling, and back of the computer doesn't turn into a convection oven. I like being able to access all connections (monitor, sound, usb, power) right on top. Surprised no-one had thought of this before - seems obvious now. Big, easy to work with. Lots of nice features - removable cage, noise dampening rubber disk mounts, etc.

Cons: Had to use a soldering iron to lengthen the switch leads to reach motherboard.
Reset switch right on top, easy to hit and reboot computer.

5 out of 5 eggsRaven II AMD 64 HD AV Studio Build

Pros: I selected the new Raven II design to house my high end Pro A/V workstation circuitry in part for its innovative chassis design and radical stealth cosmetics, but more importantly for the excellent thermal dynamics engineering concepts employed.

I also found the low profile, full tower approach along with the transparent window located on the right side of the case to be ideal for my desktop application. Wire management both internally and externally is a dream machine build experience. The effect of gravity on thermodynamics is once again my friend.

I decided the concept of combining logical positive pressure internal flow handling using bottom mounted cooling fans instead of “in your face” front mounted fan designs to be irresistible where long hours spent editing audio or video tracks is an environmental requirement.

The chassis is an ideal solution for housing my components which includes SSD, multiple Crossfire X Workstation Graphics, and multiple Pro Audio Processors.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsNice Box

Pros: -Big and spacious, of course it should be as an ATX full tower. No problem with the length of current gen GPU bricks.
-Almost silent. With all the case fans at full bore--my Zalman 9500HSF is far louder than the noise the 180s and 120 in the case put out.
-Cooling works well, and quietly.
-Tidy wiring inside this case is easy. I don't know how people can complain that there is not enough space behind the mainboard tray. I did my wiring with virtually no zipties back there, and the door went on easy. Maybe they redesigned it since those reviews
-90 degree orientation permits less messy rats nest of cables at the exterior back of the machine. Get a cable wrap.
-Heavy, this case ain't tipping over or moving unless you mean it.

Cons: -Not quite "toolless build". You WILL need a philips screwdriver. I figured they could have at least used thumbscrews on the PCi slot shields. Not a big deal.
-Lots of plastic not metal. That said I don't worry about breaking this critter. For the money, more metal would be nice.
-The oft cited dim HDD light that gets washed out by the power LEDs. Not that big a deal to me.
-No PC speaker to my knowledge. You may miss your POST beep codes.

Other Thoughts: -I came from an older Lian-Li. The RV02 is far quieter with better airflow-and easier fan cleaning. The only leg-up the Lian-Li had is that it was a metal shell.
-Mind your PSU cables-their length may only permit certain drive arrangements. Not Silverstone's fault..but it is something to consider with this layout
-Several little things, but they don't warrant taking an egg off to me.

4 out of 5 eggsPerfect for hardcore builders - unless you swap hard drives... ever

Pros: I'll start by saying I switched from an Antec 900 case that ended up being too noisy and too brightly lit. This one has sealed side panels - I don't like side vents that allow noise to escape or fans that disrupt the air stream. Bottom to top air flow - where has this concept been all my life. With the intake fans set to low speed this case is very quiet. There's plenty of room in here for the largest of graphics cards or to keep all your water cooling inside. The power supply takes in cool air from outside the case instead of recycling warm air from inside. Conservative front panel illumination. The wire management is a dream, except for cables that aren't long enough to run behind the motherboard.

Cons: My biggest gripe is that you have to remove the motherboard to get the hard drive cage in and out. This in my opinion is a major oversight! Think twice before you buy a hard drive later on down the road. The plugs being on the top of the case makes cabling kind of a pain. I feel like the bottom-up air flow design could have been achieved without rotating the motherboard 90 degrees. Finally, this case is friggin' HUGE! It's almost twice as long as my Antec 900.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to give this case 5 eggs. I did the research and knew what I was getting myself into with regard to the cabling and the size, but the hard drive cage issue is a big enough design flaw to lose an egg. Making the motherboard tray removable would have redeemed it.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone. You can remove the hard drive cage without having to remove the motherboard. We have posted an instruction on how to remove the hard drive cage from the front case in the link below:

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: This case is differnt but works even better than the normal cases... it can take some getting use to but it all works out for the best!

Cons: not anything major at all if anything some cords get tight because of longer distances from point a to b but everything fits

Other Thoughts: lots of room so dont worry about it just buy it and stop thinking about it

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Design (including airflow)

Cons: Price is a little high
Lights in front a little bright

Other Thoughts: The one thing that drives me nuts...
so the PRICE of this case... you would assume the PLASTIC that the case is composed of wouldnt be able to scratch the window.... it is.... now i have a freaking scratch on the window because when taking it off, i rested it against itself... lame.

4 out of 5 eggsLove the case, Hate the power switch not working

Pros: The case is designed nicely. I like the 90 degree rotated motherboard design. The cooling design works nicely. Although, If I was going to overclock the processor or use this as a gaming PC I would want to replace the bottom case fans with some that turn higher rpms. The room for big power supplys in this case is really nice.

Cons: Just like one of the other reviews on this case, my power button would not turn the pc on. I moved the reset button to the power location on the motherboard and it didn't power on the motherboard either. I had to turn on my pc by shorting across the power pins on the motherboard. I will be taking the case apart and either fixing or replacing my power and reset buttons.

Other Thoughts: The quality of the case is really nice, but the power and reset buttons are not up to the level of design that the case is. Silverstone should read these reviews and make sure that any cases they are still producing has the power buttons redesigned.
The power and reset buttons are the reason for 4 eggs instead of 5.

Manufacturer Response:

Cons: power button and reset button feel a little cheap.
