Don't let the fangs on the front scare you; the Smilodon is a monster under your control. Its innovative design features speed assembly and get you back on the hunt in no time. Once you're up and running, the plethora of fans will keep your system cool even in the hottest of firefights.

System setup is eased by having the mobo tray attached to the right side panel. Undo the locking screws and remove the side panels and you have a totally open chassis. Install the mobo and expansion cards to the side panel along with the CPU and memory then all you have to do is put it back in place as a unit. But first install all your drives in the tool-less racks. When both sections are assembled all you have to do is connect the wiring.

There are fans everywhere to keep your components cool. A 120mm fan is mounted on the back panel for main ventilation. The side panel has an 80mm fan to boost CPU cooling. There is a retaining bar designed to help hold your video cards in place, and that too has an 80mm fan vented to the outside.

  • newegg Convenient Installation The Raidmax Smilodon Extreme ATX-612WEBP features a fully removable motherboard tray for easy system upgrade without removing your PCIe/AGP/PCI cards. Plus the tool-free design ensures quick assembly of other devices, saving your precious time.

5 out of 5 eggsNot a wire friendly case.

Pros: The way that the case opens.
Where the power supply is located.
Fans/Fan placment.

Cons: After wiring the the case it was a nightmare to reopen on the fan side. I had to strip and rewire the fans to hide them so that you would be able to open the case on both sides while not seeing the wires.

3 out of 5 eggsDont buy if you have H50!

Pros: - Fold out motherboard tray
- Side fans
- Tool less racks
- Good looking green LED

Cons: - Small space (5850 is less than 1 inch away from harddrive
- Will NOT fit the H50 (See other thoughts)
- Pain in the rear to replace front fan
- Stock 120mm fans are slow and they aren't fast
(Replace all of the stock fans)

Other Thoughts: The H50 does not fit inside the case. the sway bar will be blocked. I slightly modified it by slightly making the latch holes for the sway bar more further down. So the sway bar is slightly crooked. This works but i wouldnt suggest doing this because my first H50 started to leak then i bought another H50 and that started to leak. I dont know if its because of my modification or not but dont try it!

And yes i know how to install the H50 (Ive installed it on 3-4 other computers)

4 out of 5 eggsI have a case to make

Pros: Good looking, extremely functional case. Plenty of space for hardware, and fans to keep it all runnung cool. It was very easy to get everything together, and up and running in no time. I'm getting another of the same for my next build.

Cons: Power supply needs to be bigger than 500 watts. It's like pulling a 25' boat behind a full size pickup truck with a 4 cylinder engine. A smoky situation forced me to upgrade my power supply to a more respectible 750 watts.

Other Thoughts: I use an Asus Motherboard and run a Pentium dual core 3.6GHz processor, dual BFG video cards, dual DVD writers, a floppy drive, a card reader and four 750GB hard drives. I run a CPU fan and five case fans.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: Great case for gaming, its a unique style of side panel. The motherboard mounted to the door is great for an easy setup and upgrade, was shipped in1 day and arrived at my door ready to go the day after it was ordered.

Cons: if you upgrade to a larger heat sink the motherboard side door will not open all the way but other than that its great.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Strong - For a while

Pros: Great Case and vey easy to install the board and other hardware.

Cons: The power supply burned out after a year and a half.

Other Thoughts: This was well worth purchasing, and it has endured heavy use for a year and a half. Only the power supply had issue, and that wasn't until a year and a half of use.

3 out of 5 eggs...

Pros: Pretty solid case, fold out motherboard tray is nice. Green lights add a nice glow.

Cons: Power supply. My power supply smells like burning plastic right now, I get nervous every time I turn on my computer, I'm just waiting for it to explode.

Other Thoughts: I've got a corsair 750tx on it's way right now, hopefully this thing will make it to Tuesday.

1 out of 5 eggsI agree with the Review By: Doug on 7/12/2010

Pros: System "looks" good easy to use...motherboard screws were premounted...case layout is good.

Cons: POWER SUPPLY D.E.A.D. ; will have to spend more on a different power supply...bought the case a couplamonthsago but am just assembling now...got everything connected and..."dud" NO POWER...I sent an urgent help request to the MFG...(it's Saturday) I will let you know if I get a response by Monday evening...wish I could have given it a ZERO!

Other Thoughts: My suggestion, If you purchase this tower...make sure you get the EXTENDED insurance AND when the tower arrives...MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IT IMMEDIATELY.

5 out of 5 eggsnice case!

Pros: Very cool design led design, very good air circulation

Cons: absolutely none!

Other Thoughts: the fan might be little loud if you are going to put it right beside you on the desk. make sure you buy a male to female molex splitter if you are going to: buy more fans, use a 2xmolex to 1x8 pin cpu connetor, use graphic card that requires power cable.

1 out of 5 eggsOnly the Picture looks Good

Pros: The case looks great from afar...

Its definitely well ventilated.

Cons: The power supply that was provided for me was completely faulty. When it was time to turn on the computer to see the BIOs for the first time, nothing happened. Did a quick voltage check and found my power supply was not giving me any power. $40 later with a coolmax PS, my system was running smoothly.

Even the faulty power supply was bad anyways. It came with two SATA power connectors, on the same line.... If you are planning on connecting a SATA dvd driver with a SATA HD, forget about it. The HD storage is all the way on the bottom, and CD's are on top. It'll never reach.

The clear plexi-glass was slightly cracked at each point where a screw was attaching it to the side case. It wasscrewed on too tightly.

After some engineering with the loose wiring for the front fan, it finally started to spin.

The paint job wasn't very smooth. The top of the case has bubbles from uneven spraying.

Other Thoughts: So... yeah... its a risk... If everything comes correctly and all these problems above are fixed then this could easily be a 5 egg case. However, when i'm paying almost 100 bucks, I dont want to have to spend more money upgrading the power supply and worrying about quality assurance.

OH, and i sent an email to RAIDMAX, no response yet.
