Who says cutting edge cool has to be expensive? NZXT's Apollo begs to differ. This highly affordable case doesn't need any fancy words to show its edge of cool -- one picture is more than enough. But don’t think this is just another pretty face. With 5 external 5.25" drive bays, a 3.5" external drive bay, and four internal 3.5" drive bays, this case has room for whatever you need of it.

All of the external drives are protected behind a stylish door that is part and parcel of the Apollo's hot looks. Naturally, it includes two USB ports, a Firewire port, and two audio ports located on the right side of the case for easy access. The side panel has the required window with pre mounted 120mm blue LED fan, with another 120mm fan in the rear to make sure the heat from this system is just from its looks.

With all this, what more could be asked of it? How about the durability of steel to protect your investment? This might just be the total package you've been looking for.

  • newegg Great Expandability with 10 Drive Bays The NZXT Apollo BLACK NP boasts five external 5.25" drive bays, one external and up to four internal 3.5" drive bays for great expandability.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: This case fits everything so easily. I had no problems getting anything in. Came with two very nice and quite fans. I love that it opens left to right for the front cover thing. The tool-less design on the inside works awesome. Holds everything nice and tight.

Cons: None at all!

5 out of 5 eggsHandsome Case, Great Service

Pros: Roomy, great-looking, nice price, superb customer service. I received this case as part of a low-budget gaming computer. The computer maker failed to include the extra toolless 3.5" hard drive rails that come with the case. NZXT sent me 3 pairs of rails at no charge, even though the omission probably wasn't their fault.

Cons: Opening and closing the stylish cover panel gets tiresome if you access your 5.25" drives often. The flimsy plastic toolless PCIe clamps break easily, but you can still screw down your cards the old-fashioned way.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, sleek, easy to use

Pros: The specious design is ideal for future modifications.
New screw-less technology is extremely useful and quick. I love the pull-out hard drive slots!!

Cons: If you don't read the directions (as I often don't), you may find yourself baffled by the new screw-less system.
The PCI card slots are flimsy, but not enough to take an egg away.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg delivered in almost no time!! Ordered Saturday night, had it in my house by Tuesday morning!!

2 out of 5 eggsBeauty is only skin deep

Pros: Looks good, on the outside.

Cons: 1) Impossible to hide cables (the HDD cage could have been designed to allow it but wasn't). 2) Top-mounted power supply with no vents on top of the case means the supply is "cooled" with hot air from inside. 3) Cheap fans - 4-pin Molex connectors (yes you still need that cable in your modular PSU!), no PWM and not even a tach. 4) Restricted air flow - only exhaust is one rear fan (and through the PSU), no front fan and if you add one it'll be sandwiched between the HDD cage and the front cover. 5) Expansion slot cover plates are loosely held in by plastic clips - they rattle. Bottom line: noisy, and ugly and hot inside!

Other Thoughts: This is the 2nd NZXT case I've bought. No more. They look good on the outside but they have a lot of cheap plastic parts and the quality just isn't there. They're not worth the enthusiast prices they're asking. Stick with the other major brands for quality at a comparable price.

5 out of 5 eggsPCI clamps

Pros: I know I have already left a review, I have quoted it in the Other thoughts. I contacted NZXT Support about seeing if I could get some new PCI clamps, they were fast to respond saying they needed my shipping information and a copy of an invoice and they would be glad to send me some. Great Customer support.

Cons: They still broke :/ But agian, I didnt read the manual, dont even know if it came with one.

Other Thoughts: "Pros: 1. Looks Great
2. Blue LED's
3. Spacy
4. Stock fans are good
5. Reset Button
6. Magnetic Front Cover
7. Tool-less, for the most part.

Cons: 1. Metallic finish shows finger prints
2. Front cover requires some force to take off
3. Scratches easy
4. The things that hold the PCI cards in place at the top break easily, examine closely before trying to open.
5. Blue, Should have got red :/

Other Thoughts: I was really not expecting something this nice, the case does scratch easy but is nice still. The front panel ports are on the side opposite of the side window, if your going to put this under your desk it could be a problem, also due to the size. Very roomy and I only cut myself once, and didnt realize it for a while. "

3 out of 5 eggsNot what you may think...

Pros: - Plenty of space for a mid tower case

- Large side panel window to look in for eye candy

- nice to show off your LEDs

- PSU at the top

Cons: - From a distance, it looks like a nice Alienware PC case, which isn't a bad thing but you kinda want to have a unique and different looking PC gaming case.

- The material used to construct this case is cheaply made. My other gaming PC is a Thermaltake Armor+ Full Tower so it's hard to settle for something like this but I was looking for something different. Turns out, it isn't so great.

- Only the front part of the case is "glossy" black while the rest of the case is sort of "matte" black. Even the "glossy" black part isn't so glossy and sleek. If you ever owned an original Playstation 3 console... NOW THAT'S GLOSSY BLACK.

- The side panel doesn't have a door hinge. You slide it off just like one of those desktops you buy at your local electronics store. This to me isn't major but it should have been incorporated.

- The side panel has the logo "NZXT" right where you push off the side panel. I thought it was rather tacky..

Price isn't good for this quality.

Other Thoughts: For $69.99 there are far better PC cases out there.. It isn't a competitive price at all like its other NZXT counterparts. I would rather invest in a NZXT Apollo-NP or Thermaltake Armor+ mid or full tower. If you're even more practical, I would just go with Cooler Master brand cases. A regretful buy in which I will not be RMA'ing back because it wouldn't be worth the cost to ship. If Newegg was down the street.. I would take it back in a heartbeat. Do not be fooled by the number of reviews and people who have purchased this. Take a better look at more pictures or even Youtube videos. It's not what you may think...

5 out of 5 eggsSpectacular Case!

Pros: Plenty of room, haven't had any trouble fitting a video card yet. (2 4850X2's in there now.) Plenty of headroom for a non-stock cooler for my core i7. All my friends are -quite- envious.

Cons: The stock fans, while fine for the initial build, didn't quite push enough air for my liking when I upgraded to the core i7 920. Very minor quibble, though.

Other Thoughts: I've had mine since 2007, and I bought a second for a friend last year. Both are working great, no troubles with plastic tabs breaking off, or case bending like you see in other choices. I've got 2 other friends that say they'll be having me help them build their next PC in this case.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very ncie looking case and it was larger than expected for a midtower. The screwless design for the drive bays are easy to use.

Cons: The little clips on the back for cards are easy to break off but it has holes for screws if you end up breaking one.

Other Thoughts: There is front 120mm case fan (not included) that you can install. The trick is to remove the harddrive cage that you can unscrew from the bottom and inside of the case. You also have to remove the entire front which can be popped off to screw the fan in.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: If you're looking for a sturdy case with quite a bit of room (for a mid tower) to handle a moderate workload, I would definitely suggest this case.

Cons: -If you want to overclock or run multiple graphics cards, this isn't the case for you. It doesn't allow for enough airflow to keep your components cool.

-The manual had a typo in it. The Power Switch wires and the Power LED wires are listed with the wrong colors in the manual. The Power Switch wires are red and white according to their labels, but the manual says they are green and white. The Power LED wires are green and white but are listed in the manual as red and white.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this case, please ignore what the manual says and read the labels on the wires.
